Meet Patron

We are always on the hunt for bully breed ambassadors when considering which Pit Bulls to pull from shelters. Patron is one of those really good dogs! He landed in a California shelter that doesn’t do adoptions and readily euthanizes. He was a calm, smiling, gentle giant and we just had to say yes to him.

Patron is seeking a home where the people aren't gone for super long hours. He does crate but can escape flimsier wire crates. He has been very successful in a hard plastic crate with a front door that secures in three places.

Patron is 85 pounds of pretty much muscle and he is such a stunning Isabella color. We estimate him to be between 4-5 years old. He has a nice lower-medium energy level and loves to sleep on the couch on near you on his dog bed. He is a MAJOR cuddler and is a master at snuggling with the humans. He also will sleep and cuddle with other dogs in the home.

He is fostered with both male and female large breed dogs and does well with them. No small dogs for Patron. He is just a little too interested and is such a big boy that we feel it's best he go to a home with other dogs 40 pounds+ if there are dogs in the home. He has a nice play style with other dogs that is not too overbearing.

Fostered with two cats and is good with them!

Great on outings in the community and loves meeting all people including strangers and kids. No leash reactivity.

Rides well in the car and does not get car sick.

Good with his potty habits and after a few potty accidents the first few days in foster, he has not had any for a few weeks now and is dialed in with his potty habits.

MEDICAL:
After we got Patron out of the shelter and went to neuter him in California, they had to reverse the sedative and revive him. His blood pressure dropped pretty low
. Once up here in Oregon, we did some more blood work and his white blood cell count was low due to Anaplasmosis which is a flea borne illness. He had tested negative for it in California then positive up here just a week later in Oregon. It is not contagious to other pets or people. Patron has been on antibiotics for 28 days to treat Anaplasmosis. Hopefully at his recheck September 2nd we can get this boy neutered. He does not mark (urinate) in his foster home and has been reliable with his potty habits despite being unneutered.

Patron is a good egg and we hope to find him an adoptive home despite his medical setbacks
. He deserves it. Patron is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner vet clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin.

Patron is out and about enjoying running some errands with his foster mom. He’s a total gentleman in public and loves politely saying hi  to everyone he meets.
