"MS TIGGER" cuteness overload!! 8 month old fawn pitbull

 UPDATE 5/6/23 Adopted

"MS TIGGERT" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Adoption cost: $160.00
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only

Animal ID: 287333, 8 mths, 38 lbs and growing

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/287333

I'm named Ms. Tigger because just like the song from the Winnie the Pooh series: "Their bottoms are made out of springs" and so am I. I am ready to go. I'd do best in an active home that will provide me with exercise and training on a daily basis. There are lots of fun training games I'd love to play with my new people. You could even use my food, because I am the type of dog that would enjoy working for my keep. I might be too much for little kids or sedate older dogs until I get some training under my belt. If you are looking for a fun dog, come by and check me out.

"GOOBER" husky- silly and lovable

 UPDATE 5/6/23 Adopted

"GOOBER" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Date found: Sunday, April 30, 2023
Location found: NE Lombard st & NE Airport Way, Portland
Adoption cost: $160.00
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 287739, male husky, 2 yr 6 mths 54 lbs
Hi! My name is Goober. If you remember the Andy Griffin show - Goober was a sincere but silly and lovable character. That really kind of describes me. Whatever you are doing, I want to be a part of it. My breed tends to need regular exercise, so it would be good to have a fenced area to play with me and throw a ball - it's yet to be determined if I will bring said ball back to you. Most huskies love to run so being off leash in an unfenced area is not a good idea until we get to know each other better. It's that time of the year when dogs like me tend to need a spa day. I definitely need a good brushing and a bath to look my best, but as you can see from my picture, there's a very cute doggie under that fur. If you like northern breed dogs, come meet me.

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/287756

My name is Bubba. My owners could no longer care for me so here I am. I am right in the middle of the jumpy mouthy puppy stage. I need a home that can teach me to sit politely and redirect my sharp little puppy teeth to appropriate toys and not people. At this time, I am probably not a good match for kids under 8 years old. I have potential but I am looking for a home that will help me learn how to be a good boy as I am already 23lbs. at 13 weeks, so I am going to be a pretty big boy when I grow up. I am very food motivated, so using my meals as rewards for good behavior would be wonderful.  '

Red Heeler + Chow Chow Mix
8 years old
Female
51 pounds

Kids · Yes
Dogs · Yes
Cats · No

I’m a spunky young gal with a zest for life, I may be mature, but I still got some get up and go! However, I do not have a zest for spending lots of time alone and prefer to be right by your side. Once I settle in I am well mannered, a perfect housemate. But oh boy, I just love to be with people and am so affectionate. I get along great with other dogs too, big or small, and will enjoy the affection that respectful children have to offer. Just don’t ask me to live with cats! I’m smart as could be and I love working for treats, so learning new things will be fun! I walk well on leash, and I love car rides almost as much as snacks! I’m housebroken already too, and even crate trained. Goodness, there are sooo many things I love! How ’bout it, pal, will you let me love you too?

8 years old-51lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes spay, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

IN FOSTER HOME

My name is Laurel and I am an eight year old American shelter dog looking for a loving home. I came to the shelter in need of treatment for a skin condition, and some tender loving care! I have been in foster for a few weeks now and I am doing so good! Her foster parent says she is a very smart girl! She knows basic commands, and she taught them that she was taught with hand signals! She is friendly to strangers, she doesn't jump on people and plays with smaller respectful dogs. She prefers you to be home with her, but she she does well after being left alone for increasingly longer periods of time. She has shown no destructive behavior or barking. Her house manners are perfect! Notes from her foster parent: She lets us know it is time for a meal by picking up her bowl and carrying it to wherever we are and placing it in front of us with the look in the attached picture. Thought you'd enjoy that for your Friday fun fact. I think all she really needs in her new home is some TIME & patience from her people to adjust to her new space. Thanks for trying to get this good girl adopted! She is the absolute BEST. If you would like to know about this sweet girl, apply today! This animal is in foster care! Apply to adopt them online!

"ALEXANDER" VOL FAV! Who's a HANDSOME BOY! affectionate delightful Malinois!

 UPDATE 5/5/23 Adopted!

Nice big boy! The Malinois breed in general needs more than average mental stimulation and exercise. Many are being bred to have a very intense drive, but Alexander doesn't seem to follow that line, and he is a delightful and unexpectedly cuddly guy and wonderful companion - volunteer FAV! Gorgeous red/orange highlights in his fur.

UPDATE 4/14/2023- interesting note from a volunteer dog walker:

"Last week I slipped and fell while walking Alexander and he immediately laid down next to me and even helped me up by getting under my chest and helping to push me."

"ALEXANDER" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Adoption cost: $160.00
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 285429, male 3 yrs 83 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/285429

I am Alexander a fun loving and energetic Belgian Malinois. Dogs like me love to get out and play but are not always sure what to do with our mouths. I can tend to get so excited I jump for the first thing I see, and the game is on! My ideal family will be active, patient and use positive training methods to help me become a more refined pup. I think working with a trainer would be a fun way for us to bond and learn together. I am eager to learn and can't wait to show you how smart I am!

thanks Denise for the Alex pic

"JACKO" ! smart active young german shepherd

Animal ID: 284574,  male german shepherd, 1 yr 6 mth 66 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/284574

My shelter name is Jacko. I'm a young enthusiastic dog who has a lot to say and do. I am food motivated and smart, and love using my brain. I need regular exercise, and walk best with a harness. I am selective about my dog friends, and may do best as an only dog, as many dogs will not like my rough and rowdy play style. I love being with my people, so will make an excellent companion for a person or persons! Smaller children are not recommended due to my size and "exuberance for life".

thanks Denise for the Jacko pic

"TYRA" awhhh Oldie but Goodie - special needs

UPDATE 5/4/23 Transferred to Stumptown Strays

"TYRA" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Date found: Wednesday, April 26, 2023
Location found: 125th / Woodward, Portland

Adoption cost: $60.00

License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 287538, 12 yrs 76 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/287538

My name is Tyra after the well known supermodel because I'm a gorgeous girl. If I were a record I'd be classified as an oldie but a goodie. I am looking for a home with a comfy place to nap and a person to pet me. I have minimal exercise requirements, short walks will be fine. I may have some arthritis so a home without lots of stairs is needed. My adopters should consult their vet about mobility supplements to help me live my best life. The shelter doesn't think I can hear anymore, so I shouldn't be off leash in areas without fencing because I won't hear you calling me. Senior dogs like me still have a lot to give and are really loving companions.

"POSSOM" cute face mask - CHI mix

I am the dog who is always prepared for a marathon - as long as it is a movie marathon. There is nothing I love more than a cozy, warm bed and some good company. We can discuss our favorite foods while you give me pets and attention. I promise to provide you with lots of laid-back love and friendship if you save me a spot on the couch - or at least on the floor next to you!

 UPDATE 5/3/23 Adopted

"JOSE" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Adoption cost: $160.00
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

  Animal ID: 287715 , 2 yrs, 6 mths 11 lbs
My name is Jose, dogs like me are really sweet with people when we feel at home, especially when we know them well. In new situations, we tend to need a little time to figure out the coast is clear. Once I feel at home, I will be your bosom buddy. We usually are not the best in busy households, and make really good snuggle buddies because one of the safest places we know is with our people!

"PEA POD" corgi (or Jack Russell?) mix 6 month old PUP

  UPDATE 5/3/23 Adopted

"PEA POD" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Adoption cost: $300.00
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 287719 ,  6 mths, 11 lbs and growing
Aren't I just a cute little pea pod? I might have some Corgi or Jack Russell in my ancestry, no one is really sure. The one thing we all agree on is that I'm one busy bee pup who is constantly on the go! I'm very food motivated and ready to train. If you adopt me, there are things you can do to keep me occupied - like scatter my meals in a fenced area or stuffing a Kong toy with food. An adoption counselor can give you more ideas. I am still a youngster and if I get overexcited when greeting people, I may do a "happy pee". Most dogs grow out of this, but in the meantime, keeping greetings low key will help.

"ROCKY" Pitbull, Unique Guy! smart LOVES to SNIFF around! LIKES Dogs knows sit, shake , lie down

UPDATE 5/4/23 Adopted

At the shelter, Rocky "Holds it" a long time! so he was definitely house-trained. He spends all his free time outside sniffing, sniffing, sniffing as he walks, and yet if you just sit by him outside and ask him to do training exercises - like sit, down, stand....repeat, and gently pet him he begins to connect with you,

I think he is very smart and shy?  Hope someone appreciates his skills, and his intelligence and his willingness to connect,  and adopts him!

He likes other dogs too

"ROCKY" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Adoption cost: $160.00
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 275628,  male pitbull 2 yr 4 mths 66 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/275628

Volunteers and staff notice I'm really good natured and friendly inside my kennel, and I know quite a few tricks - sit, shake, and lay down- to name a few. I'm a little on the independent side in the yard.

I am a goofy boy who loves food, pets and hanging out with people. My previous finder says I was good with the other dogs I met while we were walking around looking for my owner, but be safe and slow with introductions. I do pull a little, so an appropriate harness and leash is a must while you show me... the ropes!

My name is Hercules and I am looking for a new home. I am friendly with every person I meet, and even got along with my finder's dog, but I need a home without cats! I am really happiest being where my people are. I would love nothing more than the curl up on your lap or trot along with you on walks. If you are seeking a relaxed and easy-going friend to keep you company through your life, then I am the dog for you! Through thick and thin, I will be by your side.
