"STUBBS" (aka Sprocket) happy update

Happy Adoption update May 2017
"Stubbs is doing awesome. I am happy to say he has excelled in training. He's mastered sit and is working on "down" we'll move on once he gets that. He loves, loves, loves having friends, although the bullies tend to stick together leaving my son's dogs looking at them like "hey, we want to play too". I want to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to be his mommy. I'm so in love and I think he is too." -Kim S.

Hi, I'm Sprocket! I'm a young Bull Terrier puppy looking for a new place to call my own. Right now, I'm a bundle of energy and enthusiasm and my ideal home would be ready to help tackle my crazy puppy energy and teach my manner so I can be a perfect canine citizen. I am very mouthy - especially when I play - but with some patience and simple training I can learn how to appropriately use my mouth. My breed can be very stubborn and I would recommend looking up what to expect when raising me. Another thing to know is that I food guard and my new home needs to be ready to manage that. If you are interested in meeting me, come over to the shelter first thing! There will be a sign-up sheet out at 10am on 4/22/17 and adoptions operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. I'm about 6 months old and weigh 28 lbs.

May 5, 2017 Happy adoption Update
"Melo (the dog formerly known as Wiggles) is doing great. She's been basically the perfect dog; timid at first but she's coming out of her shell a lot. She sleeps in bed with me, gets good food and 2-3 good walks a day-not bad for a shelter pup. I'm in love and I'm pretty sure she is too, seeing as she tries to spoon me when we sleep. She seems to love every person she meets. Overall she's a fantastic dog and fits in here perfectly." - Daniel D.

Hey everybody!! My name is Wiggles and I'm sure you can see why. I am a very social lady that is so happy all of the time and in constant motion! I just can't contain my excitement and joy for life! I am looking for a family that is high energy and has time to teach me the basics. I am a very smart lady, but do need some work on my manners. I love treats, so reward based training should be a piece of cake for me! The shelter is recommending kids in the home be 8 years or older due to my jumpy/mouthy behaviors. If you think we could make a fantastic match, please come and meet me today! I need to be the only pet in my new home. I am about 2 years old and weigh 48 pounds.

Ruger here! I'm a handsome Rottweiler mix looking for my new home. I am a sweet guy who enjoys getting attention and love. I'm also smart and already know "sit" "down" and "shake" and I bet you can teach me even more. If you get out a ball I'll play fetch and drop the ball on command! I have been known to guard my food however, so I would need a home without another dog or any children. If you are looking for a fun dog to share your home with, ask more about me!

Zooooom! That's the sound I make as I zip on by! My name is Chewy, and I am looking for an active home to keep my energy needs met. I love to get out and play, either with my friends or with fun plush toys. Although I need a good amount of exercise, I would love to learn some manners and tricks by taking some reward-based classes with my new family. I can be a bit jumpy and mouthy when I get too excited, so a home with sturdy kids and proper management will be appreciated! I would need a home without cats. Hope to see you down at the shelter- Chewy out!! I am 1 year old and weigh 23 pounds.

here's my Mcas weblink (5/9 has an adopter)
animal id # 592804

My name is Antonio. I am 5 years old and weigh 16 pounds. I have been a bit overwhelmed here in the shelter, but once out of my kennel I have been social and a lot happier! It may take some time to settle into my new home, so I will need calm and patient new friends to help with my transition. I could use some more on-leash work, preferably with a harness. My breed has beautiful hair (as you can see!) but it also needs to be up to date with grooming so it does not get out of control. Come on out to the shelter and say hello to me today!

Psst, down here. Are you looking for a Best Friend Forever? Well look no farther than me because the shelter says I'm a cute little ChiMix who just wants to be next to my people. I'm about 3 years old and weigh not quite 7lbs. I might be small but I've got a big heart that is full of love. Caveat... I do need help with my potty training. The shelter is recommending kids 8 & up because I only have one eye so I startle easily. Come meet me today.

Nugget is an adult male Red Golden Pheasant. His adoption fee is $15. "Red Goldens are a favorite of backyard aviculturists because they are hardy, and quite easy to raise - not to mention that the males are absolutely stunning in appearance. The bright, beautiful plumage of the male Red Golden pheasant is among the most colorful and attractive of all the world’s birds. They are bred and raised all over the world"

"Nugget" wasn't thrilled with me today, but I was in awe of his beauty!

"BUZZ" run jump chase play- fuzzy terrier

ADOPTED!
May 2017

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

mcas weblink (5/7 adoption pending)
animal # 591592

My name is Buzz! I am 1.5 years old and I weigh 13 pounds. My friends at the shelter gave me this name due to all the energy I have! My favorite things to do are run, jump, chase, and play. I love toys, but I really enjoy a run around the yard just as much! My new family should make sure to have a secure area for being off-leash or always keep me on a leash and collar. I love to run, but sometimes I think it is too fun to play "keep away" with my friends and sometimes I am hard to wrangle. I hope to find a fun family who can keep up with my energetic, "full on go" outlook on life, so please come down to the shelter and take me for a spin!

Grizzly here! I'm a German Shepherd mix fella looking for a calm new home to spend my days in. Despite my strong name, I'm very shy at first and don’t have a lots of confidence. My ideal new home would be patient and use positive, reward-based training to build my confidence and teach me to love being out in the world. Once you get to know me, I'm just a massive lovebug! I love to play with toys but I haven't quiet gotten over my gangly stage and am quite the adorable clutz. I do guard my food so I would need to be in a home with kids 12+ and my new family should be willing to work with me to manage this behavior. I'm about 3 years old and weigh 70 lbs.

I know sit, but could use some more training on tricks and manners to help me become the best lady I can be. Come down to the shelter and meet me today.

SUMMER - Scottie mix

animal id # 589634
My name is Summer. I am 8 years old and I weigh 25 pounds. My friend Dutch and I have lived our whole lives together, but through unfortunate circumstances we have made our way to the shelter. The shelter is asking potential adopters to take us home together as we really enjoy each others company and get along great. We have met other dogs and cats in the past and have been appropriate. We are both very sweet and gentle, and our dream home would be somewhere quiet where we would be loved for the rest of our lives. Regular grooming will be necessary, and will get us back to looking as beautiful as ever! If you have a place in your life and in your heart for the two of us, come down to the shelter today and give us a chance.
