Eleanor's Indigo Rescue link  (adoption application is also on this weblink)
Eleanor is an adult Shih Tzu who was estimated to be 8 years old. She came in to the county shelter as a stray with her companion, a male Shih Tzu named Teddy. They are a bonded pair and we will only adopt them out together. Eleanor had a severe dental abscess that had ruptured through her cheek but we had our vet do a dental surgery to repair it, and her personality blossomed within 12 hours of her surgery. She felt GOOD! She has immature cataracts and may be slightly hard of hearing, but Eleanor is a sweet, sweet girl. These two would make a great companion pair for an adult household or one with teens

Teddy's Indigo Rescue link (adoption application is also on the weblink)
Teddy is an sweet and adorable Shih Tzu, estimated to be around 7 years old. He came in to the county shelter as a stray, with his female companion, another Shih Tzu named Eleanor. They are a bonded pair so we will only adopt them out together. Teddy is so sweet and such a happy boy. When he came to the shelter he had a pretty bad cherry eye and a few growths on his back but those have been removed and he is feeling pretty good now!  He was also intact, and neutering him made a big difference, too!

UPDATE 2/19:
Diesel's OWR Foster home notes: "Diesel is a sweet guy who is allowing his personality to show through while becoming more a member of the pack each day (I have 3 of my own weims). Similar to his brother, Diesel came into our home being a bit aloof, but he is now warming up to us and seeking our attention. Diesel is a really calm dog, which is surprising given his young age, who is becoming just a total sweetheart. He is even becoming fond of going into his wire crate. Command responsiveness is also improving every day."

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
Tinker and Tater are together in a MCAS Foster home

Tinker here's my Mcas weblink
animal id # 584025

Tinker here! I am a 10 year old sweetie pie. I only weigh about four and a half pounds. I came to the shelter with my friend Tater and we are very bonded. We would love if we could stay together I love to sleep under the covers in your bed and be carried around. I am a wonderful lap companion. I recently had a surgery to have both of my eyes removed as they were causing me a lot of pain when I came to the shelter. I have recovered in a foster home and we are ready now! We are both housetrained and make great house guests. We would love a quieter home where we can feel safe. We think cats are a little too fun and would do best in a home without them. I really like other dogs but Tater does not so we would prefer to be your only canine friends. If you think that we might be a good fit for your home, please ask about us today. We are in a foster home . If you are interested in meeting us, please email the foster coordinator at jennifer.sparkman@multco.us to set up a time.

Tater here! I am a 6 year old wonderful guy that only weighs five and a half pounds. I came to the shelter with my friend Tinker and we are very bonded. We would love if we could stay together. I am a frisky guy and loves to play. I take a little while to warm up with new people but if you are patient with me, I promise I will sneak up for some love. We are both housetrained and make great house guests. We would love a quieter home where we can feel safe. We think cats are a little too fun and would do best in a home without them. I am not very fond of dogs other than Tinker. If you think that we might be a good fit for your home, please ask about us today. We are in a foster home while Tinker was recovering from surgery. If you are interested in meeting us, please email the foster coordinator at jennifer.sparkman@multco.us to set up a time.

Hi, my name is Perry. I'm a lovely 10 year old Shiba Inu weighing in at about 25lbs. I'm looking for a special home because I'm blind. Trust me though, there's nothing wrong with my nose or ears. I can smell food and hear the crinkle of a food wrapper just fine. Although I cannot see, I will learn the layout of a new home just fine. I also have a very luxurious coat that makes petting me addictive. The shelter is recommending respectful kids 8 & up

I have been around other dogs, but would love more experience to help me learn the best way to play! Can't wait to meet you, so come on down to the shelter and say hello. I am around 10 months old and weigh 33 pounds.

"CHEWBACCA" goodnatured sturdy Pitbull

Returned to Owner!
Mar 2017
Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

 here's my Mcas weblink
animal id # 583968

My name is Chewbacca. I am around 4 years old and I weigh 75 lbs. I am a big, strong boy who will need a new family able to keep up with my needs. Please consider using a head halter or other appropriate equipment to make walks with me enjoyable for the both of us. The shelter recommends I go to a family with sturdy kids 13 & up, and I should be the only resident pet in my new home. I love back rubs and playing fetch. I also know sit and shake, so I have a good foundation to build on if we take reward-based classes together. Hope to see you at the shelter soon!

Mcas weblink

Hi I'm Bruno - a male Doberman Pinscher pup looking for a new home! I'm sweet and goofy and lots of fun. Like most young dogs, I would do best to have some reward-based training done to help instill manners and social skills as I am just learning out to interact with other dogs appropriately. I am very active and looking for a new home able to keep up with me! However, I haven't always done well with kids in the past and would need to go home with kids 8 years or older. I'm about 6 months old and weigh 38 lbs.

My name is Buddy. I'm a cute little guy who's had a tough go of it, and I am looking for a quiet and stable home to help me get back to normal. I recently lost my owner, and being here at the shelter has been difficult for me. Once out of my kennel, I can be a very curious, social, and loving guy. However, it does take me time to warm up to new people-but once I do, get ready to have a new best friend! I really love my squeaky toy, and will carry it around with me. The shelter is recommending that I go to a home with kids over the age of 10 years old. If you are looking to help out a cute little guy get back on his feet, then come on down to the shelter to say hello. I am 5 years old and weigh 11 pounds.
I AM CURRENTLY IN ANOTHER PART OF THE SHELTER. PLEASE ASK TO SEE ME

"STEVEN" cutie pitmix

ADOPTED!
Feb 2017

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

 here's my Mcas weblink
animal id # 584394

Hey there! My name is Steven and I'm a sensitive boy that's looking for an active, yet relaxed home. I am a very sweet, playful boy once I feel comfortable. I probably haven't been exposed to a lot of new things in my life and get easily startled by loud noise, sudden movements, and new places. I need a family that will show me that the world isn't such a scary place. I am very treat and toy motivated, so that should make training fun and easy! I already know how to sit, shake, and down! Isn't that fantastic? It is recommended that children in the home be at least 8 years old due to my fearful nature. I will make a great companion and can't wait to find my new family! Please come and meet me today! I am about 2 years old and weigh pounds.

"DIXIE" UPDATE - happy young mini Yellow Lab mix - Golden Bond Rescue

ADOPTED!
Feb 2017

Dixie is for Adoption with Golden Bond Rescue
Dixie was originally rescued from the China meat trade, and later rescued/transported to Portland  GBR to live in a Foster Home. Dixie looks like a little mini Yellow Lab. She is a very happy and affectionate dog!

here is Dixie's GBR website link  (note: you can read about Golden Bond Rescue's "China Connection Program" on their main website page)

DixieGBR #2723

My name is Dixie (#2723) and if you’ll forgive me for just a minute, I’d like to brag about myself:  I am sweet, loving, beautiful, soft, playful, energetic, fun . . . you name it, if it’s a positive quality for a girl to have then I probably have it.  Since coming here from China last year, I have learned manners, commands, crate-training and house-training.  I’ve heard it said, not only by my foster family but also by others who have met me, that I am “an amazing dog.”  Again, please forgive me if I sound brash or arrogant.  I’m really uncomfortable bragging about myself like this, but I need to let you know what you’ll be getting if you adopt me.
Although I can’t be certain what breed (or breeds) my parents were, it’s pretty clear at least one of them was a yellow lab.   I look like a yellow lab only a bit smaller than most.  I hope that’s okay with you.  Now here’s the part of my story that I want to tread lightly on (I laugh whenever I say that):  I am missing a few inches of my front leg which has only a partially formed paw. Please hear me out on this though:  I may look a bit clumsy when I walk but I can run like the wind and jump like a dog on an invisible pogo stick. Please, please don’t let my physical appearance keep you from adopting me.  If you feel like we would be a good match, I’ve learned to deal with my “pawdicap” (what you might call a handicap) and I can help you learn to deal with it too.
Oh!  And speaking of my little “pawdicap”, it does not bother my foster sister one little bit.  She’s my bestie and she says she’d love me no matter how many deformed paws I had.  She and I can play for hours and hours and hours. It’s so much fun!  If you have a dog that likes to play, I’m sure I can quickly adapt to a new bestie.  I’ll miss my foster sister but I understand that my home with her is only temporary.  While having a playmate in my forever home would be a huge plus from my perspective, it’s not absolutely required — that is assuming, of course, you would be willing to spend time playing with me yourself.  Woof!
Finally, I walk great on a leash and love car rides. I’m a very sensitive girl and truly aim to please everyone. A little bit of redirection or scolding goes a long way with me.  If I have an occasional issue with “impulse control”, I trust you’ll understand that I simply need to be gently reminded of my manners.  After all, I am still a very young dog and it takes a few years to reach perfection.
I hope you’ll consider making me a part of your family.
Adoption fee:  $650 plus $35 microchip fee (please note - the dogs rescue from the China meat trade carry higher adoption fees because of the higher costs involved in the rescue)

Feb 2017
Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

animal # 584635
Mcas weblink

Yogi here! I'm a goofy male Pitbull pup on the search for my new home. As an active fella, I would love to go to a home able to handle my energy and work with me using reward-based training to instill solid manners and help curb my puppy wildness! As you can see by my lip, I have had a bad experience with another dog in the past and I might need lots of training and socialization to help me overcome that fear. Right now, I would do best as the only dog in my home. Think we could be a match? Come say hi! I'm about 6 months old and weigh 34 lbs.

"OAKLEY" young Border Collie

ADOPTED!
Feb 2017

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  (Oakley does have an adoption pending 2/23)
animal id # 584630

Hi there! I'm Oakley, a male Border Collie mix looking for a new place to call my own! If you've ever owned a Border Collie before and are familiar with our energy level and high need for mental and physical stimulation, then we'd likely get along well. I am a sweet and energetic fella who will need some training to help build my confidence and independence - I can be a bit clingy and my new person would do best to doggy-proof their home! I'm smart and curious and I'd love to go for long walks and spend my days close by your side. If you think we're a match, come and say hi! I'm about 1 year old and weigh 40 lbs

Feb 2017

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

Porter here's my Mcas weblink  (2/20 adoption pending)
animal id # 584115

Can you guess I'm named Linebacker? I'm a beefy, guy that doesn't need a helmet or shoulder pads. I like to play and have lots of energy but I'm also very sweet. If you are looking for a buddy to go on walks, play with in the backyard or go for a run, I'm your dog. I'm about 3 years old and weigh 74lbs. The shelter says there should be no other animals in my new home.
