My name is Gizmo. I am an older gentleman, but still very spry and ready for fun walks and interactions with new people! I am looking for a quiet home to relax and enjoy my golden years. My vision is not what it used to be, but I can still make it around just fine. I have lived with another same-sized female canine companion, but have not had much experience with other dogs so it is important I meet any other dogs that may be in my new home. Hope you consider giving me a nice retirement-I deserve it! I am 10 years old and weigh 10 pounds.

"BIG MIKE" handsome Tuxedo Pitbull

Now in a Foster to Adopt
hope it's a great match
June 10, 2016

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my MCAS weblink
animal # 575761

Hello, my name is Big Mike! Are you looking for a big guy with a goofy personality? I have enjoyed playing tug, going for walks, and already know how to sit. I've been a little uncomfortable with intimate handling so my shelter friends are asking that my new family use positive training methods to help me feel better and if there are any new children in my home that they be 6 years or older. Another same size female dog companion could be fun but those small animals are too tempting to chase so no cats either. Ask about me! I am around 3 years old and weigh 57 pounds

"GENO" handsome Doxie/Beagle mix

ADOPTED!
June 2016

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
Luke (aka Geno) is in a MCAS Foster home!

here's my MCAS weblink  June 9 possible adopter(s)
animal # 576716

My name is Geno and I am a very handsome pocket-sized beagle who gets along with everyone when I'm feeling safe :) I am currently in foster care. If you are interested in me, contact Alix, the Foster Coordinator, at alix.womack@multco.us or 503-988-6247 to find out more about me :) I am 1 year old and 23lbs and ready for my forever home :) I get worried when I'm alone, so I need a home with another dog to keep me company when you are out of the house. I wasn't housetrained when I went to my foster home, but I am now, and I'm doing great! Keeping me on the same routine will set me up for success in your home, too! I currently live with other dogs and cats and love all of them, and everyone I meet. I would do best in a home with kids 9 and older, or no kids because I can get really excited :) I was really fearful in the shelter environment, but am doing much better in a home environment. I need some more work with leash training - sometimes I get excited and forget not to pull! I would benefit from crate training in my adoptive home to keep me from getting into trouble when you aren't home. I am a sweet, playful guy and I hope I find my forever home soon!! Ask about me today :D

Hi! I'm Smokey! I am a 6 year old male chocolate lab mix who is ready to join a new family! If you give me some time to check my new surroundings out and offer a game of fetch or tug, I will open right up to you! I can become quite the attention seeker once I know I am safe. I know some basic obedience skills and I am very treat motivated. I would prefer a house with children over the age of 12 years. If you are looking for a big man to fill that empty space in your life, then I am your guy! I weigh about 76 pounds. Please come and meet me today!

Hi there! My name is Zig Zag. There's so much to explore, and moving from one thing to another is never in a straight line! I may be small, but I am a very active young guy who will need constant physical play and exercise to keep me happy. Some reward based classes may even be pretty fun too! The person who found me said that I was very nervous around small kids, so it may be best that I go to a home with kids 10 and up. Hope to see you soon-I will be the one zig-zagging around! I am 1 years old and weigh 10 pounds.

Hi there! We are Cindy (short-haired) and Mindy (long-haired). Are we happy to see you!!! Our friends here at the shelter absolutely adore us, but there are definitely a few things you should know about us. We are very cute and cuddly, even if it may not seem like it at first. That’s because even for 3 years old, lots of things in life are new to us, and sometimes it takes us some time to know that we are safe. Our new homes should know this and provide us with ample support and patience as we start to figure out what life is all about! We have lived together our whole lives (we are sisters, of course!). Although it would be GREAT if we could leave together, having another confident and social dog in the home would go a long way to helping us transition into a new life and also give us some guidance on how to be a great canine citizen. We know sit, and sometimes we shake, but a great way for us to both learn the tricks of the trade and also gain some confidence would be to go to some positive reinforcement classes with our new best friends (that's you, of course!). We can't wait to find our new homes, so please come and see us.

Hello, my name is Joe! I am a fluffy guy who is looking for a new family. I have lived with same size dogs, am crate trained, LOVE food, and am generally an easy going guy. My name is Max and I'm looking for a new home! I am a spectacular boy that loves to play and explore. All things Lab, you know! I know how to sit, shake, and down too! My new family must be able to financially care for my skin condition. I do have some minor skin allergies that will need to be treated by a doctor.  It is unclear at this time if they are related to food, environment, or fleas.   Regardless I will always need quality flea control, monthly for the rest of my life.   If you choose me, I will make an excellent buddy and great companion. Please come down to the shelter and meet me today! I am about 6 years old and weigh 88 pounds.

Hello, my name is Cooper! I am a handsome big boy who is looking for a family who understands how to use positive methods to communicate with me what they expect. My previous family used force as their way and as a result I bit them. I have lived with another dog but chase cats. I love to play with toys, am friendly with people, and don't mind lounging around on a hot day. Because I will require a special human, my shelter friends would like you to email animal.care@multco.us to inquire about adopting me. They are asking that there be no children under the age of 16. Hi there! My name is Zak. I am a fun and active dude who is looking for a new family to help me grow. I would need a new home which is able to give me ample time to get out my energy in a positive way. Is running your thing? Because I bet I would LOVE IT!!!! I have shown pro-social, rambunctious behaviors with same-sized dogs and would benefit from slow and steady introductions with any new buddies I may have in my life. I can be shy when meeting new people, but with patience and lots of treats I warm up quickly. Sometimes I can be a bit sensitive to handling, and with that it may be best to have kids 12 and older in my new home. I am full of potential, and can’t wait to fulfill that with my new crew! I am 2 years old and weigh 30 pounds.

                                                            I like to dance
