animal id # 582455

Hi there! My name is Monty and I'm searching for a loving home. I came to the shelter very scared and not in the best of shape. It took me a couple days to let the nice people here touch me, but now I have crossed a milestone and want everybody to be my friend! I love getting attention and I tell ya the key to my heart is hotdogs and cheese! My new family should be prepared to give me the regular grooming that my breed requires and keep me mat free. I can't wait to cuddle on the couch and give my new gracious family all the kisses they deserve. Please come and meet me today! I am about 2 years old and weigh 7.5 pounds.

ADOPTED!
Nov 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  (11/4 adoption pending 11/8
animal id #555728

Araya here! I am a sweet gal who is always looking for the next person to give me affection. I can be very active and would love to play a great game of fetch with my new friends. Once I make a friend, it is for life, and I get all wiggly and excited when I see them again! I am a bit of a talker when I get excited, and would prefer a home with secure containment or leash walks only. I am cute as can be, and have a very unique look-and I have quickly become a favorite of the staff! Please come down to the shelter to see me. I am 5 years old and weigh 35 pounds.

"HATCHI" an engaging Husky

ADOPTED!
Nov 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink
animal id #582342

Hi I'm Hatchi! I'm a Husky looking for my new home. I'm a happy and fun dog who would love to play and get lots of attention from you. I am sweet and know how to "sit" already. My shelter friends think that with plenty of reward-based training I can learn lots more! Like a lot of Husky's I can be quite the escape artist and don't do well with small animals so I would do best in a secure home without any other animals. Due to my history and some food guarding, my ideal home would have older children (12+).

Jack here! I am a sweet, older guy and I can't wait to find my new home. I have a very gentle and loving disposition, and enjoy being around my shelter friends. I have lived with other dogs and done well, and have been around kids and enjoyed calm and respectful interactions. I always enjoy a game a fetch-don’t worry, I still see the ball just fine with my one eye! If you want to meet me, come on down to the shelter and say hello. I am 10 years old and weigh 28 pounds

"HALO" calm friendly affectionate Pitmix

ADOPTED!!!
Nov 2016

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

animal # 575267
here's my Mcas weblink

Hello, my name is Halo! I am a calm, friendly and affectionate girl who is looking for a fresh start in your home! I enjoy my beauty sleep on your bed or couch after a game of fetch or playing with squeaky toys. I am housetrained, know how to sit, and have excellent house manners. My previous foster family has said that when I get excited on walks in the grassy areas, I could learn some solid skills on how to calm myself back down. I am a healthy girl but do have reoccurring ear infections. With a good diet and regular vet visits, this shouldn’t be a problem. My shelter friends are asking that I go to a home without small animals or children under 10. Please ask about me! I am around 7.5 years old and weigh 80 pounds

Bear is in a MCAS Foster Home

animal id # 579208

Some say I'm a Rascaltarian, a Chi-floofie, a Fluffasaurus, or a Cherhuahua, but I'm a Bear for certain! I'm currently in foster care. If you are interested in me contact Jennifer, the Foster Coordinator, at jennifer.sparkman@multco.us or 503-988-6670 to find out more about me :) No one is exactly sure what breed I am but I can tell you that my personality is great. I am about 6 years old and 14lbs and my foster parent says that I am not quite housetrained at this point, but we are working on it. I get along well with the other small dogs and the cat in the house. I am shy at first and will need some time to get to know you but I promise your patience with be rewarded tenfold. I am very sweet and get along with everyone as long as they go slow with me. Ask about me today!

"VALKYRIE" voted best ears

ADOPTED!
Nov 2016

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

animal # 581407
Mcas weblink

My name is Valkyrie. I am quite the gal, and would love to get to know you! I can come off shy with new people, but once I am comfortable I want nothing to do with anything else. I do know sit, but taking some reward-based classes to help boost my confidence, especially in new environments, could be a real big help! I can be jumpy and physical when excited and playing, so it may be best that I go to a home with kids over 6 years old. I have lived with another dog in the past, but any other canines in my new home should meet me here at the shelter first to make sure we are a good match! I hope to see you soon-I am ready to go! I am 2 years old and weigh 44 pounds.

Ruger here! I'm a handsome Rottweiler mix looking for my new home. I am a sweet guy who enjoys getting attention and love. I'm also smart and already know "sit" "down" and "shake" and I bet you can teach me even more. If you get out a ball I'll play fetch and drop the ball on command! I have been known to guard my food however, so I would need a home without another dog or any children. If you are looking for a fun dog to share your home with, ask more about me!

"ELEANOR" sweetheart little Pointer mix - West side of Town

ADOPTED!
Nov 2016

Available for adoption at Bonnie L Hays
(aka  Washington County Animal Shelter)  (the shelter is Closed on Sunday and Holidays)

here's my shelter Petfinder.com link
I am not a real high energy dog, but like many young really great dogs, I do have "emotional needs" and exercise and attention does wonders to tire me out. I'm looking for a special home who loves and understands the sweet and sensitive nature of the sporting pointer breed ;) I need attention and exercise and also need to learn how to feel calm and secure when left alone. I'm doing really well with training at the shelter. Having a well balanced doggie companion could really help with this. I'm a total sweetheart and I'm a smart and active and affectionate dog.  I bet I would do well at doggie daycare if you want to do that sometimes too!
1 yr old, 46 lbs, children 6 and up.

If this dog is appropriate for a home with children, you must bring children aged 12 and under to the shelter with you for the adoption process. Not all dogs and children are a perfect match, so we want to make sure that the dog you select is a family-friendly dog.
If you have one or more existing dogs in your home, we require a "meet and greet" between your dogs and the adoptive dog at our shelter. Please plan to bring your dog(s) with you before the adoption can be finalized so we can be sure that the dogs and the humans all agree this dog will be the perfect match for your family!

Adoptions are on a first-come first-served basis among approved applicants. We cannot hold pets, so when you are ready to select a pet, please come prepared.

"JULIE" darling senior Yellow Lab

ADOPTED!
Nov 2016

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

animal # 582306
Mcas weblink

Julie here! I'm a peppy older Labrador looking for my new home. Despite my age, I still love to play and chase after toys. And once it's time for a break, I like being near people and getting lots of love - I'm a sucker for a nice back scratch. My eyesight isn't what it used to be so I can sometimes get confused when you reach in front of my kennel but I'm really just a big goofball. Because of my age and physical limitations I would do best in a patient home that can keep me within the limits of my body and without young children. I'm 12 years old and weigh 56lbs.

My name is Dougie. My ideal home would be an active couple with a more relaxed, calmer at-home atmosphere. I can be shy in new environments and with new people, but I have come to make some great friends here at the shelter and they can tell you that once I feel safe and comfortable, I am nothing but a goofy, loving guy! I would love to be someone's new running partner, and I am already working on walking with a harness like a champ! It is recommended that I go to a home with kids over 10 years old. My name is Ronnie. I am female, 5 years old and weigh 63 pounds. I am a big love-bug, and enjoy all of the wonderful attention that my people can give me-it never gets old! I could just as easily enjoy a game of fetch or a long hike, or cuddle up on the bed for movie time! I have had experience living with kids and other dogs in the past and done well. My new family should be sure to walk me on a harness or provide me with secure containment in my new home. I am a great dog, and I can't wait to show you too! Please come down to the shelter to visit me.
