I'm Frosty the adorable snowman! Well not really, I'm actually a small mixed breed fella searching for a new home to keep me cozy. I love being around people though I'm still working on being brave and confident when I meet new people - can you help me with that? I will need regular grooming appointments to keep my coat healthy and keep me looking sharp! Come and meet me, your new best friend, today! I've been around same-sized dogs here in the shelter and done well. THERE WILL BE A SIGN UP SHEET LOCATED AT THE ADOPTION DOORS OF THE SHELTER AT 10AM. YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THE TIME OF OPENING TO BE ELIGIBLE TO ADOPT ME.

"ORIOLE" senior (mostly blind) Jack Russell

ADOPTED!
Dec 2018
Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

Oriole, Senior male Jack Russell mix, 13 yrs, 21 lbs

here's my Mcas weblink
170569
My name is Oriole and I am the dog who is always prepared for a marathon - as long as it is a movie marathon. There is nothing I love more than a cozy, warm bed and some good company. We can discuss our favorite foods while you give me pets and attention. I promise to provide you with lots of laid-back love and friendship if you save me a spot on the couch - or at least on the floor next to you! I can be sensitive to handling and in new environments, so if you have kids in the home, they will need to be over the age of 15 years. I can also be quite vocal, so apartment life probably wouldn't be the best match for me. If you think you can provide me with a nice, quiet, retirement home, please come and meet me today!

"BOOGIE" playful (too chubby) Border Collie mix

ADOPTED!
Dec 2018

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

Boogie,  male Border Collie mix, 1 yr 9 mths? 85lbs

here's my Mcas weblink
99429
Hey all! It's me, Boogie! I'm a hefty, happy boy and I am looking for a family who wants a life of the party kind of dog. I love being around people and making them happy is what I love to do best. I am pretty active so I will need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation (which is fine since that means we can spend more time together!). I will be a breeze to train and am excited to learn more tricks! I already know sit and down and am excited to learn more. I hear training comes with cookies so I am in! I don't seem to mind other dogs but would need to meet any canine roommates before coming home with you. What do you think? Could it be love?

Please note, Boogie is quite overweight, and so he seems older than 1 yr 9 mth.
He's a great dog, and would enjoy a low pressure introduction.
(being in a shelter is hard for him)

Flora,  female Lab mix, 1 yr 43 lbs

Hello world! My name is Flora and I am about as sweet and beautiful as they come. I came to the shelter as a stray so not much is known about my past but we can all agree that my future is bright! I love people but I can be nervous in new situations so a family who are committed to patience, my comfort, and success (and positive reinforcement training) would be my ideal match.
Please come see me today!

"BANJO" yorkie mix

ADOPTED!
Dec 2018

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

Banjo, male Yorkie mix, 11 yrs, 15 lbs
here's my Mcas weblink
168096
I'm Banjo, the goofy looking Yorkie mix searching for a new place to call my own. I'm a fun little fella who enjoys going for walks - though I have a collapsing trachea and need to be walked on a harness and NOT on a collar. In addition, I have some medical needs that will require consistent veterinary treatment. I can be a bit sensitive of some handling so I would like any children in my new home to be 10 years or older. But don't let those things fool you! I love nothing more than to get some good rear end scratches and spending time with my favorite people. Come and meet me today!

Thanks to Multnomah County, Oregon photographer, Motoya N. for visiting the shelter to capture this photo of senior boy Banjo!

here's my Mcas weblink
171802
Elloh! Loleh! Wait, wait, I mean hello! Sorry, I can get ahead of myself sometimes because I am just so excited to see you! Let me tell you a bit about myself: I am a medium mixed breed gal who... oooo.... is that something shiny?? Bye! Oh sorry, where was I? Oh right, I am a go, go, go, type of dog! If I am not moving or playing, I want something to occupy my mind; such as training with you or food puzzles! I like to be engaged and thinking all the time. If I am not given appropriate channels to exhaust my mind and body, then I might create my own activities that humans don't seem to appreciate. I would love an active family that has the time to exercise me and knows (or wants to discover) the joys of dog training! If you are up for it, you bet I am up for it too! Please come meet me soon! I promise you that I can't wait. I am six months old and do not qualify for the December Special Pricing.

"MERLE" German Shepherd..."HOLIDAY" poodle mix ..."BELLE" pitbull

ADOPTED!
Dec 2018

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

Merle,  male German Shepherd, 1 yr 84 lbs
here's my Mcas weblink
170797
Hi, I'm Merle, a fun-loving and energetic, young German Shepherd. Dogs like me love to get out and play but are not always sure what to do with our mouths; I tend to get excited and may jump for the first thing I see, so I will need some kind and patient basic skills & manners training. My ideal family will be active, patient and use positive training methods to help me become a more refined pup. Any kids in my new home should be 12 & up, due to some jumpy/mouthy behaviors and resource guarding.

Holiday,  female Poodle (mix?), 1 yr 38 lbs
here's my Mcas weblink
171164
Hiya! I'm Holiday, a young, playful Standard Poodle mix, possibly Labradoodle.
I'm ready to amaze my new family with my happy personality! I'm looking for a family who does not take life too seriously, who will be patient, positive, and lift me to my potential of being a perfect pup!
I will need moderate exercise and regular grooming; doodle-dog hair can get pretty matted if not properly dried and brushed following bathing, swimming, or rain - which we get often here.
I've been friendly and gentle with everyone here at the shelter. Come meet me! HAPPY HOLIDAY :)

Belle,  female pitbull, 2 yr 62 lbs
here's my Mcas weblink
171206
My name is Belle. I'd love to be the Belle of the ball in a new home. I am really happiest being where my people are. I am an active and playful girl who would love walks and hikes. I'm so cute when I get excited and zoom aroundd. I am up for anything and ready to amaze my new family with my skills. I am looking for a family who does not take life too seriously that will be patient, positive and lift me to my potential of being a perfect pup! I am about 2 years old and weigh 62lbs.

"MARBLE" bunny Happy Adoption Update

Please Note - Many dogs will instinctively view a bunny as "prey" and should not be expected to safely ignore it when in the same unfenced space.
But some dogs (like Lenny) are great with a bunny companion in the home!  Pretty cool!

Happy Adoption: Lenny (Marble)

"We adopted Lenny a few months ago and he has been the perfect addition to our little family. The attached photo is with his older brother Henry, a six-year-old shepherd/mastiff. We love him! Thank you so much, MCAS!!"

-Kristy B

Marble, Holland Lop, 6 mths, 4 lbs

Marble is a very friendly and social bunny. He loves attention, will solicit petting and does not mind being picked up gently or even held. This handsome rabbit has been around people and knows when humans are around, good things happen, like their favorite treats! Marble would be an excellent rabbit for a first time bunny owner. He is consistent with litter box usage and should continue in his new home

Dozer, 13 yrs 9 mths old, 68 lbs
here's my Mcas weblink (12/1 on hold  for potential adopter(s) check back)
animal id #121602
My name is Dozer and I'm a friendly dog who is always happy and ready to spend time with my favorite people! I look on the bright side and would love to share some laughs and belly rubs with you. I do have some skin sensitivities that your adoption counselor can speak to you about. I have been started on medication for my skin and ear infections. (update - look so much better!) Getting older is challenging and I've also started to develop some arthritis, so my new family should connect with their Veterinarian to keep me comfortable. I am a great boy that loves to play, but sometimes I'm not sure where to place my mouth. If you have children in the home they will need to be 12 years or older. Please come and meet me today! I am about 13 years old and weigh 68 pounds. I am currently taking a break from shelter life in a foster home. "BUDDY JR." young German Shepherd mix

ADOPTED!!!
Dec 2018

Please give Buddy Jr lots of time to adjust to a new place and new people in order to set him up for success in a new home!

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

Buddy Jr, male German Shepherd mix, 1 yr 9 mths, 69 lbs
here's my Mcas weblink
135671
My name is Buddy and I have never met an activity I did not like! If you love exercise and keeping active, then we will be fast friends. I will go for a run in the morning, a hike in the afternoon, play fetch in the evening, and unwind with some play at home before bed - and I would love nothing more than to have someone who can keep up with me. It is important that I have an outlet for my boundless energy, so let us get together and explore the outdoors! If you have kids in the home, they will need to be over the age of 8 years, due to some mild resource guarding. I am also uncomfortable around dogs and would do best in a home as the only dog. I am a bit stressed out in my kennel, so ask to meet me outside and I promise you will fall in love!! I am in a quieter area of the shelter. Please ask a staff member to meet me!

Buddy Jr has incredibly long legs!
