"ELLIOT" entertaining Mastiff/boxer mix

ADOPTED!
Dec 2017

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

mcas weblink
animal #101643
My name is Elliot and I'm a friendly dog who is always happy and ready to spend time with my favorite people! I look on the bright side and would love to share some laughs and belly rubs with you. I came to the shelter with some infected ears and can be sensitive to people touching them. I don't enjoy living with children as loud noises can make me a little fearful, so I would need an adult-only home. Other than that I am fabulous! I know how to sit, shake, and down already and love to play with toys! I hope you're ready for some fun and activity in your life. Please come on down and meet me today! I am about 3 years old and weigh 72 pounds.

Holiday blues?
Cheer up Elliot! You'll find a good home!

Tanka here! I'm an active and playful German Shepherd mix and you could call me the hands-on type but since I do not have hands I learn with my mouth. To an exuberant dog like me everything is a game, sometimes I just get so excited I will jump up and grab the first thing that looks like a toy. I am up for anything and ready to amaze my new family with my eagerness to learn and adorably upbeat attitude! I am looking for a family who does not take life too seriously that will be patient, positive and lift me to my potential of being a perfect pup! I can get too excited and become very physical and mouthy so I would need any children in my new home to be 12 years or older.

Chase here! I'm an energetic Boxer mix fella looking for a new place to call my own. I am an athletic guy who enjoys running and playing almost as much as I enjoy laying in your lap! I can forget how big I am sometimes and will just crawl on top of you to get as much attention as possible. I have been around same sized dogs here at the shelter and done well - I love to chase and wrestle! I can be a bit shy in my kennel so ask to see me outside. My new home will need to be adult only as I do not like to share my food. If you're looking for a running buddy, you've certainly found your match! I am about 2 years old and weigh 58 pounds.

"REIGN" young German Shepherd

ADOPTED!
Dec 2017

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

 Mcas weblink

My name is Reign and I have never met an activity I did not like! If you love exercise and keeping active, then we will be fast friends. I will go for a run in the morning, a hike in the afternoon, play fetch in the evening, and unwind with some play at home before bed - and I would love nothing more than to have someone who can keep up with me. It is important that I have an outlet for my boundless energy, so let us get together and explore the outdoors! I can be quite fearful of new people and new environments, but I build my bond fast. I am house-trained and have lived with cats, dogs, and kids over 10 years old. I would prefer that if you have kids in the home that they are at least that age. Those little guys can make me a bit nervous. I am about 2 years old and weigh 70 pounds. If you think we could make a great match, come and ask a staff member to see me today! I am in a different area of the shelter.

Arnold here! I'm a shy but sweet American Shelter Dog fella looking for a calm and patient home to relax in. I can be shy and don't always like lots of handling - especially around my head - so I would need my new family to be gentle and go slow with me at first. Any children in my new home should be 12 years or older. I'm a mellow guy who would love to relax on the couch by you and watch a movie and maybe go for a trot or two around the neighborhood! The shelter believes that I am between 8-10 years old. Please come meet me today and let's start our life together!

I would love nothing more than the curl up on your lap or trot along with you on walks. If you are seeking a relaxed and easy-going friend to keep you company through your life, then I am the dog for you! Through thick and thin, I will be by your side. Because I haven't lived with small children, the shelter is recommending that if there are any in my new home they are at least 8 years old. Also, I don't want to be interrupted while dining.  13 yrs 3 mths, 17 lbs

"DASHER" "DONNER" "COMET" and "RUDOLPH" baby brother rats

"TRANSFERRED" to Oregon Humane Society!
Dec 2017

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
Dasher, Donner, Rudolph and Comet are 11 week old male baby  rats looking to go home with one or all of his siblings. Rats are social and thrive in same-sex pairs or groups! They are larger and easier to handle than some smaller rodents and often become strongly bonded to their owners. Rats come in a variety of colors and require a larger cage and more attention than smaller rodents. Be sure the cage you choose has adequate room for your new pets to move around and exercise. Larger cages will allow rodents to defecate and nest in separate areas, and many will readily use an in-cage litter box - make sure it has a secure latch!

"ROLLO" aka "LOKI" Happy Adoption Update!

Dec 2017 - Happy adoption update!

Happy Adoption: Loki (Rollo)

"My name is Nicole. I came in to your shelter a few weeks ago to look at getting a new pup after my fur baby died. I was there to meet a boxer you had available at the time, but the couple in line in front of us was also there to see him. We decided to wait for them to meet to see if they adopted him...and they did. We were crushed. But while we waited, one of your volunteers chatted with me about what I was looking for in a pet. She printed a list of all the available dogs, and went through them with me to see which ones would be a good match. We met with one of your staff members about Stewie, but decided he would not be a good fit for our city apartment life.
We met Rollo next, after being told he was very shy and skittish. The dog we met could not have been more opposite of that description. Before the door to the meeting room closed behind him, Rollo was in my arms, pinning me to the wall with kisses. It was love at first sight on both sides. He didn't want to go back to his kennel after our visit, and was hiding behind our legs and laying on our feet to try to stay with us.
We came back the following Thursday to pick him up, after he was neutered. We renamed him Loki, which fits him a little better than we meant it to! He has been so happy to have a home and a family that lives him. He is learning to be a good boy, and to play with toys. He LOVES to snuggle, especially with me!! He enjoys eating tissues and chewing up his toys. He gets multiple walks a day with his new mom and dad. His very favorite toy is his frisbee, which he faces after and pounces on, or digs at while trying to pick it up.
We love this dog. He is perfect for us, and came into our life at just the right time. We would never had brought him home if it weren't for that one volunteer who suggested him and the one staff member who talked with us about him and Stewie. I want to thank you for all the work you so for the pets there, and for the effort that was so obvious during our adoption process. I appreciate the work you do."

"BILLY the KID" aka Zander - Happy Adoption UPDATE!

ADOPTED!
Nov 2017
Dec, 2017 Happy adoption Update "In the middle is Zander (Billy the Kid) & far right is Jack (Zoolander, who we adopted in spring/2016) and our Rottie, Adi. Zander and Jack are an amazing addition to our Family. All three are very happy, loyal and very loving dogs. My Husband was never a dog person until we adopted our Pit bull mixes. He is now in love with these boys and the breed.
*Note the cat under the tree. All three of these big dogs bow down to the Balinese. The cat rules and they're ok with that."    -Kim S.

Howdy partner, Billy the Kid here. I am a fun loving and energetic Pitbull mix with a cowboy walk and the attitude of a goofball. Dogs like me love to get out and play but are not always sure what to do with our mouths. I can tend to get so excited I use my mouth to communicate. My ideal family will be active, patient and use positive training methods to help me become a more refined pup. I am eager to learn and can't wait to show you how smart I am! Come meet me at the shelter today!
