"SIERRA" AWESOME smart, active AND gorgeous Lab/Weim mix

ADOPTED!
Oct 24, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my weblink

Hello, my name is Sierra! I am one pretty girl who is looking for a fresh start at a happy life! My shelter friends don't know much about my past experiences but they can tell you that I've been sensitive in this environment and I have good house manners. . My adopters should have no children under 12 and be experienced with using positive training methods to help boost my confidence. You see I have chronic ear infections and sadly bad experiences with having them touched. Despite that, I'm happy to greet people, have my rump scratched, or play with toys. I know sit and down but come is not yet part of my skill set, a secure 6' fence is highly recommended. I like food too! Please consider me for your new companion! I am around 5 years old and weigh 73 pounds

"PRINCESS" sweet and a bit unsure - gorgeous black and white American Bulldog/pitbull

ADOPTED!
Oct 22, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my Mcas weblink

My name is Princess. I am almost 3 years old and weigh 74 lbs. I came into the shelter with a canine buddy, and to help out my confidence, it may be best to live with another confident, respectful dog in my new home to help me out! I can be a bit shy when it comes to meeting strangers, but with a confident, patient handler, I can figure out that meeting new people is not as scary as it seems. Even though I have some stranger danger, once I get to know you and become comfortable, my big, goofy personality comes right out, and I become eager for lots of affection. My new home should be on the more quiet end, and have kids older than 10. I hope to see you soon

"JERRY" little white fluff ball

ADOPTED!
Jerry went home to a nice senior lady :)
Oct 20, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my Mcas weblink

Hello! My name is Jerry. I came into the shelter with my best friend Tom. We love each other quite a lot! I am definitely the more shy of the two, and am not as quick to run up to a new friend for pets. But once I get comfortable, I love to be held and brushed (something I will need a lot of!). As you can see, one of my eyes is smaller than the other, but it doesn't slow me down. I have experience living with other dogs, and if not Tom, a canine buddy would be appreciated. Due to my size and my shyness, it would make me happier if I went to a home without small children. I will be getting a dental done at the shelter so my teeth will be nice and clean! If you have any other questions, please come down to the shelter and meet me. I am 13 years old and weigh 7 lbs.

"FRED" sweet calm Chi

ADOPTED!
Oct 21, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my Mcas weblink

My name is Fred. I am a fun little guy looking for a quiet place to call my own. I am 6 years old and weigh 6 lbs. I came into the shelter with my best friend Ethel (Ethel has been adopted)   Although it is not required for me to leave with her, I do like other dogs and would love to have a home with a canine buddy or two! I am sweet and calm, but still like to get outside and go for long walks-just to keep me in shape! I'd much rather be on your lap, or on a leash, then being held in your arms. Once you meet me, you will notice I have some funny knees. It hasn't stopped me from getting around at all, but my new family should just watch out in case I get a bit sore. I can't wait for you to come down and meet me

"LAMBERT" cool active "Muppet" pup!

ADOPTED!
Oct 16, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my Mcas weblink

Hey everybody! My name is Lambert and I'm looking for an active family to call my own. I am a sweet guy that has bounds of energy and am looking for a home where I can get plenty of exercise and playtime. The shelter is highly recommending that we take reward based classes together to help us build our bond and help me learn my basic manners. I am a little unsure of other dogs right now, so it's very important for me to meet lots of social dogs to help build my confidence with them. The classes will help me with this fear. I am very playful with toys, so I'm expecting to find lots of those at my new home. Kids in the home should be over the age of 6 years, as sometimes I get a little rough with play. I calm down pretty easy and know how to relax and give kisses, so if we sound like a great match, please come down and meet me today! I am about 7 months old and weigh 10 pounds.

here is my Mcas weblink  Helena has a great home lined up and will be moving to Spokane tomorrow.  Nice adopter, has adopted from Mcas before when she lived in the area, has dane experience and will provide a wonderful home.)

My name is Helena. I am a beautiful, extra large lady who's looking for a quiet and patient home to rest my legs. The shelter recommends quiet respectful kids at least 10 years old. True to my Great Dane nature, I am very loving and loyal. I like to rest my head on anything that is my height, especially a lap on the couch, and receive head and back rubs from my family. I can be a bit shy, and I am a calm and reserved girl, but once I trust you I become very sweet. I am looking more for the nice long evening stroll followed by movie time kind of house. If you think that is you, then come down to the shelter and say hello! I am 8 years old and weigh 83 lbs.

Oct 16, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
Hermoso is in a Mcas Foster Home

here is my Mcas weblink

This is an all american shelter dog :) so all your friends and relatives that are taking bets on what he is a mix of are probably right. That generally speaks well for Sound solid health and constitution.
He is small and LIVELY.
His shelter name is Hermoso which is Spanish for handsome . and he is so very handsome indeed .
white and tan with a curled tail and a constant smile. Like an american eskimo or spitz type mixed with more.
He is a compact little guy that shows Tons of affection kisses galore. He is about 12 pounds soaking wet. but totally solid.
He is one of those dogs that jumps from the ground straight high up into your arms puts himself in your lap over and over again. And there are tons of kisses.
His heart is Easily won over with a few treats . really that is all it takes a couple of treats and he is yours !!!!
An alert dog he never lets a stranger slip past his guard. and runs to you to show off with pride his skill at keeping you safe.
Good with other dogs big and little . Probably needs a cat that would swipe his nose once to respect cats . but not an aggressive guy. Major league curious with lots of athletic ability. Thinking about agility work ???
He is only one and half years old YOUNG !! puppy energy.
He has been fabulous on his house manners since coming into foster care.
Come meet him at out reach at Broadway pet Saturday or the Multcopets location in North Portland on Lombard on Sunday
Or just call his foster mom at
503-262-7101 and meet him as soon as today.

He comes with all shots; already neutered , micro chipped, licensed for 1 year, and vet checked as well as behavior checked with a vet check coupon or vet of your choice.
And you get the plus of foster home input as far as character as well.
Yes he is handsome ............but he is also SMART , young, active and likely to be a 13 year or more commitment .
Looking for a forever home.

"BACON" nice senior Flat-coated retriever

ADOPTED!
Oct 17, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

My name is Bacon. I am an 12 year old Flat-Coated Retriever who is looking for a nice home to call mine! I am a pretty simple guy who is just looking for some nice, calm people to spend my time with. Although I am a retriever, I have not shown much interest in fetch. But who knows…maybe you can find me the perfect toy! I can be a bit obsessed with food, so a home with older kids who can handle how motivated I may be would be best. I do know all of my commands, and have shown friendly behavior to other dogs. My eyesight is not as good as it used to be, but it has not seemed to hinder me exploring all that life as to offer! Come on down to meet me

"DOTTY" who's that dog on "The Little Rascals?" it could be ME!

Dotty is a great example of why we love responsible animal rescue groups - like Indigo Rescue - who can take a nice dog who is very stressed out in a shelter kennel environment (probably wondered where the heck her people were....) and bring them into a loving foster home - to be adopted into a new home.  (Thank you Foster Homes!!)

Dotty is available for Adoption with Indigo Rescue!
Dotty is in a foster home with Indigo Rescue
here is her Indigo Rescue petfinder description:

Meet Dotty!

Dotty is an all around sweet, sweet, girl. She is approximately four years old and was named for her adorable black spots. She gets along great with other dogs and is very affectionate with people. Although she is a breed that is known for being super athletic - and Dotty definitely has the build for it, she is actually pretty calm. She rides great in the car, and sits nicely in the bathtub for a bath. She also loves to play with toys. Dotty would love nothing more than to be with her person/people.

If interested in Dotty please go to the petfinder link and fill out the on line prescreening adoption questionnaire.
Indigo Rescue is a local Rescue Group who takes dogs from local shelters as needed, and puts them into foster homes to provide a safe and structured environment, and provides as needed, additional medical care and or/training . They are "not first come first serve". Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. They deliver all dogs to their new homes.

"HUNK" seems like a pretty mellow Cattle Dog Mix!

ADOPTED!
Oct 11, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my weblink (  adoption pending 10/15)

Hello! My name is Hunk. As you can see by my picture, it is obvious why I've been given that name. Everything about me is done with the right amount of cool! I can be coaxed into playing with some toys with the right amount of motivation, but mostly I like to just explore and figure out where the best smells are hidden. Although I may not seem interested at first, I am just playing hard to get, and will become very loving and social with my new pals. I may do best with kids over 10, as I like my food a little too much to share. My friends here at the shelter think I may have been outside dog my whole life, so it may take some time to adjust to the good indoor living. But with a little patience and time, I will fill that Hunk-sized whole in your heart! I am 3 years old and weigh 55 pounds.

I felt so nervous here at first!
