Dec 2017 - Happy adoption update!
Happy Adoption: Loki (Rollo)
"My
name is Nicole. I came in to your shelter a few weeks ago to look at
getting a new pup after my fur baby died. I was there to meet a boxer
you had available at the time, but the couple in line in front of us was
also there to see him. We decided to wait for them to meet to see if
they adopted him...and they did. We were crushed. But while we waited,
one of your volunteers chatted with me about what I was looking for in a
pet. She printed a list of all the available dogs, and went through
them with me to see which ones would be a good match. We met with one of
your staff members about Stewie, but decided he would not be a good fit
for our city
apartment life.
We met
Rollo next, after being told he was very shy and skittish. The dog we
met could not have been more opposite of that description. Before the
door to the meeting room closed behind him, Rollo was in my arms,
pinning me to the wall with kisses. It was love at first sight on both
sides. He didn't want to go back to his kennel after our visit, and was
hiding behind our legs and laying on our feet to try to stay with us.
We
came back the following Thursday to pick him up, after he was neutered.
We renamed him Loki, which fits him a little better than we meant it
to! He has been so happy to have a home and a family that lives him. He
is learning to be a good boy, and to play with toys. He LOVES to
snuggle, especially with me!! He enjoys eating tissues and chewing up
his toys.
He gets multiple walks a day with his new mom and dad. His very favorite
toy is his frisbee, which he faces after and pounces on, or digs at
while trying to pick it up.
We
love this dog. He is perfect for us, and came into our life at just the
right time. We would never had brought him home if it weren't for that
one volunteer who suggested him and the one staff member who talked with
us about him and Stewie. I want to thank you for all the work you so
for the pets there, and for the effort that was so obvious during our
adoption process. I appreciate the work you do."
