Lex, our 19 pound 1 year old Jack Russell, seems to be training for a triathlon. Although he’s bad at riding a bicycle and hasn’t quite mastered swimming (he’s trying!), Lex certainly can run. If you’ve known a Jack Russell before, you know they have a lot of energy. Our Lex is no exception. He’s looking for a family who wants to try and keep up - or at least cheer him on from the sidelines!
Found stray, Lex came to us from a local shelter. They reached out for help because Lex’s anus was partially prolapsed. He needed a minor surgery to correct this and time to recover, so we happily took him in. Good news; Lex’s butt is back to normal and he’s not looking back!
Sweet, snuggly, and excited to meet everyone, Lex is fun to take around town. He is great at bar patios and loves walks.
Lex is a fan of dogs, both on and off leash, and loves to play.
To Lex, cats look fun to chase; we would recommend a very dog savvy cat in his home if any. He completes his daily workout by doing multiple zoomies around the yard. Although he doesn’t necessarily have to go to a home with a fenced outdoor area, Lex should have access to one.
Lex is still learning not to pee in the house. Smart and very treat motivated, we don’t suspect potty training will take long. Lex does not like to be contained in crates and will need help with that. He loves jumping and is a fan of taking himself on walks without permission. Because of this, we recommend older kids in his home; ones who can be trusted not to accidentally let Lex out.
Lex is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives. His adoption fee is $400.
Have room at your house for a dog with springy legs, a passion for all toys, and a new and improved butt-hole?
