MCAS needs to spay/neuter all dogs before adoption, especially the females and purebred dogs! Management is failing the dogs and the community! They have had years to resolve this issue, but when confronted by any source about this failure, they make outdated excuses (has been happening since 2020) or create deflections, so the general public doesn't recognize management's gross negligence to prioritize this funded, legal government mission.
You worry about these dog, esp the females, when they get adopted intact. How many will be bred, accidentally or intentionally (maybe repeatedly)? and add to the overflow of homeless dogs we already have.
ALL shelters and rescue groups are struggling with overflow of homeless dogs. HOWEVER, these groups are STILL able to ensure that their adoption animals are spay/neutered! It is gross negligence on MCAS's part to not make spay/neuter the priority for adoption animals.
NOT that it makes any difference, but I keep posting this message about adoptable MCAS (intact female) dogs, in case someone can help to change things..it is a very fixable problem.
These poor shelter dogs need good adopters
12/16/25 "I'm available for a pre-select adoption but I can't go home yet. Please come to the shelter to apply! Learn more about Pre-select animals." NOTE- it is important to check at the local animal shelters if you lose your pet as the stray hold time is only 3-6 days depending on if they have any id . Often the dog is listed as pre-select the same day it comes in as a stray
Meet Faline, a sensitive soul looking for a patient partner to show her that the world isn't so scary.🌸 While the hustle and bustle of shelter life can be overwhelming for her, Faline reveals her true, affectionate self in quiet moments and low-traffic environments. Once she feels safe, she's a total lean-in lover who will gently rest her paws on your lap for head-to-tail scritches and soft praise. She is looking for a patient, gentle adopter who understands that the world can be a little loud sometimes; she'll need someone willing to trade busy city streets for calm backyard strolls while she masters her leash confidence. If you have a peaceful home and a soft spot for the "shy ones," Faline will reward your patience with a lifetime of loyal, tail-wagging devotion. 🏡💞
