"DASHER" aka "DASH" *Scared in shelter* cute Grey Pitmix "MCAS"

UPDATE  2/7/26 "DASH" ADOPTED!! OHS-Portland

What my friends at OHS say about me:

  • I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Click the "meet me" button to start the process and schedule an appointment.
  • To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.
  • I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things.
  • Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
  • I may be shy at first, but once we get to know each other I will shower you with love!
  • High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.
  • I am the prefect blend between active and calm.
  • I can't wait to show my new family how playful I am!

The type of home I'm looking for:

  • I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.
  • I may do best in a home where there is another dog to help boost my confidence and for me to play with!
  • I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.
  • I need to go to a home without small children as loud noises and fast movements can frighten me.

Dasher lived with his siblings all his life before he came to the shelter and hasn't experienced much else in his life.  He might do better with a confident, social dog.

Meet Dasher, a 9-month-old Pitbull who is a total "big baby" at heart. Despite his growing size, he is a sensitive soul who thrives on affection and just wants to be near his people. Dasher is still learning how to navigate the big world and will need a patient and understanding family to help him through his puppy milestones. He is currently working on his confidence and will require continued socialization and leash training to help him become a polished gentleman on walks. Because he can be a bit shy or overwhelmed in new situations, he needs a home that will give him the time and encouragement he needs to blossom. If you have a soft spot for a sweet, oversized lap dog, Dasher is ready to dash into your heart!
