UPDATE 12/25 NIBBS ADOPTED!
"This is a very big win for us down here at Animal Control.
Nibbs came to us emaciated at 50lbs and sick with intestinal parasites. Nibbs spent three months at the shelter while he recovered and gained weight. It was a hard and long fight for him, but he is now 80lbs and wanted to let everyone know that he has found his forever home! His name is Axel now, and he is very happy and spoiled beyond belief.
We couldn't have asked for anything better for this holiday season! Please join us in congratulating our handsome boy." Columbia County Animal Control FB 12/20/25

Meet Nibbs, our big Doberman baby! Nibbs is about 3 years old, and he
has the biggest heart and personality! When Nibbs first came to us, he
had endured a very hard life and weighed only 50lbs. With time, love,
and good care, he's now a healthy, handsome 80 lbs boy! He is finally
ready to find his forever home.
Nibbs is dog and cat friendly, though we
think he'd do best as the only dog in the home - he's earned the right
not to share his food or his people after everything he's been through.
That said, he's a social butterfly who would thrive with dog park trips
and play dates!
Like any true Doberman, Nibbs is intelligent, energetic,
and full of personality. He'll definitely keep you laughing -
especially when he throws his little Doberman temper tantrums if you
don't play tug-of-war with him a few times a day. (Yes, he insists!)
Nibbs needs a home with someone who truly understands the Doberman
breed- there quirks, their devotion, and their need to be both
physically and mentally engaged. In return, he'll be your most loyal
friend, your shadow, and your partner in everything you do.
Nibbs' adoption fee is $250. He is neutered and will be fully vaccinated before adoption. For questions on Nibbs, please contact ccacadoptions@gmail.com.
