"HOLLY" aka PoPPYy **Tri-pod* Gentle, affectionate Rottweiller mix "STUMPTOWN STRAYS

 UPDATE 2/17/26 ADOPTED!

"Holly, now Poppy, our 4 year old Rottie mix, was found stray with a badly fractured front leg which couldn’t be saved, so the shelter amputated. Unfortunately she had a difficult time with an infected incision after her surgery and we were asked to take her in. We happily said yes and got started on helping her heal. No matter how uncomfortable she was, she was simply the sweetest and we knew someone would absolutely love her and were thrilled when she was ready for us to start the search for her forever home.
Poppy found her perfect home with Josie and her family! They are experienced rottie owners (even three legged rotties at that!) and were ready to add a pup to the mix of kids and cats. She’s thrilled to be in a home with active kids, loving adults, and even befriended their oldest cat immediately! She’s gotten to spend time exploring her neighborhood, doing tons of playing, and getting lots of snuggles. She recently took her first overnight trip to the coast and was a rockstar on the beach, at outdoor restaurants, and even in the unfamiliar condo. We know her life is going to be full of so much adventure and love and we couldn’t be happier.
Congratulations Poppy!"  STUMPTOWN STRAYS 5/1/26

Holly, Our 4 year old 63 pound Rottweiler mix, isn't exactly what anyone would call "cool". The best part about her, though, is she isn't trying to be. Holly embraces being the kind of dog that falls off the couch, that shows her belly to anyone and everyone, and who walks into every situation with a goofy grin.

Found stray with a badly fractured front leg, the shelter asked us to help. Holly's leg could not be saved and had to be amputated. Our poor Holly had a heck of a time after the amputation due to an infected incision, so we took her in. Even when she was at her sickest and most uncomfortable, Holly has never been anything but the sweetest dog. Now recovered, Holly is thriving as a tripod.

We don't think Holly knows how to dislike someone. Be it kids, small dogs, large dogs or cats, Holly is great with them all. She happily shares her treats and toys, cuddles with anyone who is willing, and respects when cats ask her to back off. Holly isn't a pushy dog, but if you make eye-contact with her, her tail will start wagging in anticipation of a pet. Otherwise she's happy to sit next to her person while they work.

At home, Holly is not destructive and appears perfectly potty trained. If she's hanging outside with her foster dog friends, she'll join in with the barks and howls - we're pretty sure this nerd doesn't know what she's talking about. Holly is good on a lead and is not reactive to other animals. She loves adventures and running around in the woods; we bet Holly would make a good camping buddy.

 COURTESY STUMPTOWN STRAYS

Holly is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $350 dollars

Hanging out at the cool-kid table is a real bore. If you want to know what actual fun looks like, try hanging out with a dork!
