Meet Madonna, a ten month old Blue Heeler/Pyrenees mix weighing 42 pounds.

Madonna is one of three sisters-born to a stray Heeler/Border Collie mix on a kind person's property. Their dad? The neighbor's Great Pyrenees! With genes like that, it's no surprise that Madonna is both smart and sweet, and just the right medium size for someone looking for a best friend who isn't too big or too small.

She's been living outside during the day and crated at night, but this girl is so ready to be part of a family where she's welcomed indoors and loved like she deserves. Madonna lives for people-she's a total Velcro dog who wants nothing more than to be right next to you, soaking up all the love she can get.

Friendly with everyone she meets, she's also good with other dogs according to the people who brought her in. She's submissive, eager to please, and just now starting to explore the world on leash-so a little patience and gentle guidance will go a long way. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will stay by your side, shower you with affection, and grow into a wonderful member of your family, Madonna is your girl.

Did you know YHS offers a "Play Date" program?

Whether you are interested in adopting or just want to hang out with a furry friend, it's a fun way to spend an hour, an afternoon or even a couple days. Every Play Date helps staff know more about a pet and helps a pet spend less time in a kennel. It's a win-win! If you are interested in adoption, a play date is a great way to make sure you and your potential new pet are the perfect match. Stop by the front desk or call in and ask how to have your Play Date today.
