Dooley, our 63 pound 3 year old bulldog/staffy mix, is an extrovert. This guy loves everyone and, honestly, everyone loves him back. Dooley is a star wherever he goes - maybe because he’s 50% head, his tongue forever hangs out of his mouth, and he has a strut like a man who has nowhere to be. Dooley does have somewhere to be, though, and that’s in his own home.
Found stray, our local shelter asked us for help. They were concerned about Dooley’s jaw- like we said, his tongue hangs out all the time. The shelter was worried his jaw was broken. We took him in and got him under anesthesia to clean his teeth and take x-rays of his mouth. No fracture; Dooley is just blessed with an extreme overbite and off-set mandible. Although Dooley’s previous owners cut his ears off, they left his testicles, so we went ahead and took those while we were at it.
Dooley has been a delight to have in foster. He’s housetrained, quiet, and not destructive. Due to his mouth shape, Dooley is a messy eater if just given kibble, but does great with softened food. Dooley is good with cats and dogs of all sizes. In fact, he loves dogs so much that if he sees them on a walk, he squeals loudly with excitement. Dooley’s adopter will have to work on this behavior; fortunately, Dooley is very food motivated.
Dooley’s favorite things in the world are cuddling and food. He wants to be close to his people (and all people are his people). He is confident, silly, and full of love. Did we mention extremely lazy? Dooley will not be joining you on your run.
Dooley is heartworm negative and is current on his flea and heartworm preventatives. Due to the scars left over from having his ears cropped, his adopter will need to keep his ears clean to prevent infections. His adoption fee is $300.
