"JASPER" ** NEEDS a good home NOW!* POINTER mix *leans in for pets* "MCAS"

Jasper is having a hard time in the kennels though, and hangs out in the outside of his kennel, trying to find a peaceful place.

 JASPER!   THIS poor handsome sweetie remains - in a loud chaotic shelter. Staff and volunteers do their best to get the dogs out daily and he enjoys that time immensely, but that only counts for less than 30 minutes in the day.

 Jasper has been shifted around in his life, no fault of his own... unless you count his natural strength when walked on a leash/flat collar without a control-type harness, and his natural hunting dog strong interest in cats!

One well-known local shelter adopted him out, then wouldn't accept Jasper back because of barrier reactivity and strong interest in cats.

Then one short-term owner loved him, wanted him back but due to life constraints couldn't reclaim him.

 =====================

Jasper is a mix of breeds (probably a  German Shorthair mix) that love the outdoors, bonds strongly with their owners, and have prey drive for little critters (no cats in the home for Jasper)

This boy needs structure, and a stable loving home who can handle a larger dog with gentle /firm leadership and adores him. And someone who doesn't give up on him. He does not need that.

Meet Jasper, a handsome, middle-aged Pointer/Hound mix with a heart full of adventure! This intelligent and spirited boy is looking for an active home where his strong instincts can be appreciated. Jasper absolutely loves to explore the world with his keen nose, but he's still learning the ropes of polite leash walking and can be quite a puller. He's a smart cookie who's eager to please, and with consistent training, he'll become a wonderful walking partner. It's important to note that Jasper has a strong prey drive and must go to a home without cats or other small animals. If you're an experienced dog owner ready to embrace a loyal companion with a zest for life, Jasper might just be your perfect match! 💕
