Leila, our 27 pound 6 month old boxer-mix puppy, didn't look both ways before she crossed the street. Although we can't know for sure, we suspect Leila was crossing the street to get to a new friend on the other side. You see, Leila wants to meet everyone. We want Leila to meet her new family!

Found stray after the unfortunate street-crossing incident, the shelter reached out to us for help.
Leila had sustained a badly broken leg and she needed an amputation to have a pain-free life. We took her in to make her a tripod; a procedure that did not slow her down one bit. Like all of our three-legged alumni, Leila runs around just fine and is ready for adventure.

To say Leila is friendly is an understatement. She's so charming, she even befriended a skunk. She also convinced that skunk not to spray her, a feat her foster family was very grateful for. If Leila sees someone walking down the street, she wags her tail with hopeful anticipation. Leila is great with dogs (all sizes, on and off leash), cats, chickens, and goats. She likes kids too, but is learning not to be mouthy, so a dog savvy kid would be best.

At home, Leila is a great guest. She is potty trained and not destructive. Leila doesn't even destroy her toys, despite her enthusiasm for all of them. Now that she's healed, she's learning that a leash is not just another toy. Leila's adopter will need to help her with leash walking (along with some other training; she's just a puppy after all). Leila spent time recovering in an x-pen and really likes it. When allowed to sleep with her people, Leila strongly prefers to be the little spoon. Since she'll be less than 45 pounds fully grown, that should be no problem.

Leila is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.

Is yours a really good home in need of a really good puppy?
