"MICKEY" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO ANIMAL SERVICES"

MICKEY Shelter ID: 105899  chihuahua, neut male, 12yr 6.3 lbs

Description: Are you a Disney fan? Do you love uncharacteristically BIG, sweet ears? If so, you are in luck! Mr. Mickey is here looking for a loving home! Mickey is around 12 years old and is a teeny 6.3 pounds. Mickey very much enjoys the chance to have slow, sauntering walks with an opportunity to sniff out those roses. Mickey cherishes the companionship that people bring. He LOVES his quiet time, preferring to snuggle up in a cozy blanket or bed than going on long distance treks or hikes. He would be one to enjoy being ushered around in a doggie stroller on a nice sunny spring day! Mickey is an easy going fella ready for a loving home to complete his retirement in.

1) Mickey loves cuddles. Being as small as he is, extra care will be needed to ensure he is warm and protected from the elements.

2) Mickey has seemed to be good around other small dogs here at the shelter. Because Mickey is older, he would need dog friends of similar size and energy desires. If you have another dog at home, please set up a time for your resident dog and Mickey to meet to make sure they can be great housemates.

3) It is unsure how Mickey will do with small animals or cats. Please talk to your adoption counselor if you have small pets in your home.

4) Because of Mickey's age and size, we feel he would do best in an adult only home or in a home with respectful children over 13 years of age.

5) Mickey has been microchipped, heartworm tested, had a dental cleaning performed (with many teeth needing to be extracted) and is current on his vaccinations and flea/heartworm preventative. He will need to be on soft foods only for the remainder of his years due to the few teeth he has remaining. Mickey has been started on a joint supplement because of a little stiffness and soreness detected in his back. It is recommended that this be continued. He may need to be on prescription medications in the future to help him compensate for naturally occurring arthritis!
