UPDATE 4/19/25 ADOPTED
When I first saw Sail at OHS, he had just come back from an overnight/quickie adoption/return. He was very nervous in his kennel and stayed in the back section. I started tossing him some good treats as I walked by his kennel and he began to recognize me/associate me with treats. When I later entered his kennel and sat down to visit him, he immediately came over, sat and leaned into my side. (I was smitten) Gradually, Sail gained confidence and became less startled by/ more interested in the outside sounds.
Sail is a smart loving guy (and a somewhat nervous guy) who needs a reliable routine and someone he can trust. This little guy will shine in a great committed home and they will be very lucky to adopt him. Be good to him.

What my friends at OHS say about me:
- I am used to living an active lifestyle! I would love to get up and go adventure with you.
- I love to romp and play, but am also incredibly sweet and gentle in my interactions.
- I have been known to shower my favorite people with love.
- New things are a little scary to me, but I all I need is time and someone to show me it's okay.
- Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
The type of home I'm looking for:
- I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.
- I had so much fun meeting another dog here in the shelter. I may do best in a home where there is a young resident dog for me to play with!
- I have lived with cats in my last home.
- I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things.
