Here's what you need to know about me:

I can be shy in new spaces. I need a family who will let me take things at my own pace as I learn about new things. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.

It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.

I'd like a relaxed home. I wouldn't say I'm "old"... I've just been around for a while. And that's made me appreciate the finer things in life like naps in the sun, looking out windows, and the special joy when you're able to scratch juuuuust the right spot. I like to take it easy at home - I'm not up for lots of activity.

I like dogs. I've lived with dogs before and we shared our space well!

I need a home without cats. We just don't get along - even if they don't mind me, I can't be in the same home with them.

Plus, when he's really feeling the joy, he loves to sing to his people to let them know just how happy he is! 🎤🎶 Tips is smart, loves food, and is eager to learn, so with a little patience and training, he's going to make an incredible companion. 🏡 He's been waiting for someone to give him a chance. UPDATE 10/6/26 ADOPTED

"STARRI"   #354068 Looks like: American Bully, Mix

spayed female 1 yr 1 mth 48 lbs  available 9/18/26  $150

What my friends at OHS say about me:

• I'm a social gal! I love being a part of the action and having the attention on me.
• I know some basic cues, such as sit. Anything for a treat!
• I am always in a good mood and ready for fun!
• Anxious: I can be worried about being left alone. I am not really an apartment dweller. I would do best in a house with a fenced in yard and someone to hang out with most of the time!
• Escape Artist: I have a history of escaping doors or fences. I will need supervision when outdoors or we can go on adventures together - on leash of course!
• High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my physical and mental exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.

The type of home I'm looking for:

• I need a home without cats or other small animals.

Meet Odin, a magnificent 92-pound mixed breed with a giant heart and the high energy to match! 🐾 This fun-loving boy is wonderfully social, affectionate, and thrives on human connection-whether he's leaning all his weight against your legs for scratches, nudging your hand for pets, or greeting you with a massive, tail-wagging smile! 💛

Because Odin is a powerful, active boy who is quite strong on the leash, he will thrive best with an experienced handler who can match his enthusiasm, provide plenty of daily exercise, and continue working on his walking manners and basic training. He is looking for a cat-free home ready to embrace his big, energetic personality and shower him with the love he so freely gives. 🏡

Odin perfectly combines the loyal heart of a true companion with the playful, cuddly spirit of a big lapdog. If you're an active adopter looking for a devoted, high-energy gentle giant to keep up with your lifestyle, Odin is ready to steal your heart! ✨

"MARGO" Affectionate senior PITbull " STUMPTOWN STRAYS"

" Margo has been such a joy to foster! She is the most loving pup I have ever met. She will literally stare into your eyes and attempt sneaky kisses for as long as you will allow."

~ Margo's foster home

"MARGO" Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS

Adoption $150  Breed: Pit Bull Terrier

spayed female 9 yrs 50 lbs  Housetrained: yes

ok with Dogs - unknown  Cats -yes  Kids - yes

Personality: Affectionate, Curious, Friendly, Gentle, Loves Kisses

adoption application

Margo, our 9 year old 50 pound pitty, is a huge fan of music. Her foster family says she'll sit in the room with them for hours listening to them play. Sometimes Margo will join along with a squeaky toy, but generally she's just happy to watch. Although we've not tested our theory, Margo loves people so much that we suspect she'd be just as happy to watch someone put together a jigsaw puzzle.

Surrendered to the shelter when her family lost their housing, Margo needed help with her skin. Margo, like a lot of pitties, is delicate. She has to eat hypoallergenic food otherwise she breaks out. We started Margo on Apoquel, an allergy medication, which has really helped keep her itch-free. Margo also has arthritis in her knees. Despite this, Margo loves long walks and short jogs. Keeping her on Carprofen, an anti-inflammatory, has helped her stay active. Margo should continue the food, Apoquel and Carprofen long term.

Margo is very friendly with all people, even kids. She loves long eye contact and sneaky face kisses. When not snuggling, Margo will periodically entertain herself with stuffy dissections. She is crate trained, leash trained and potty trained.

Margo has met and gotten along great with several dogs. She seems to prefer other laid back dogs. It's fair to say that Margo may be dog selective. She's gotten in a few minor arguments with dogs at parks - we suspect they were too bold for Margo and her arthritic knees, but hard to know for sure. Margo is not a good candidate for dog parks for this reason and we recommend slow introductions with new dog friends. Margo seems indifferent to cats that she's met.

Margo is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. She's had normal blood work and we just cleaned her teeth.

Want someone to gaze lovingly at you while you play guitar (or watch TV or stare off into space..)? Margo would love to be your biggest fan.

"FREYA" SAINT BERNARD "STUMPTOWN STRAYS"

UPDATE 10/5/26 ADOPTED or on hold

Stumptown Strays" is a wonderful local Rescue that helps shelter dogs in need of medical assistance (and often helps take dogs when shelter is overcrowded)

"FREYA" Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS

Adoption $350  Breed: Saint Bernard

spayed female 3 yrs 103 lbs  Housetrained: yes

ok with Dogs - Yes,  Cats - yes   Kids - yes

Personality: Affectionate, Couch Potato, Friendly, Loves Kisses

adoption application

Freya, our 3 year old Saint Bernard, is 103 pounds. This is 90 pounds heavier than the ideal lap dog, but don't bother telling Freya that. She's happiest when she's as close to her people as possible - being a lap dog is simply a case of mind over matter.

Surrendered to the shelter when her owner died, we were asked to help because Freya had a sizable mass on her hip. We removed that mass (and cleaned up her teeth while we were at it) and discovered that it was a benign fatty tumor - cured with the removal. Freya is recovered from her procedure and has fresh breath; perfect for making out.

Freya is extremely friendly. She also is pretty demanding when it comes to asking for attention. Freya will push her big head into available hands until they succumb. When she's not asking for attention, Freya is a couch potato. She is house trained, not destructive and will hold down the love seat until you get home.

Freya is good with cats and dogs, although she may be more indifferent to dogs than anything. If there is nothing to pull towards (other people to say hi to, dogs to say hi to), Freya is great on a leash. However, she does pull if she's motivated. Her adopter should be prepared to do some training with her. Her adopter should also be prepared to handle the typical Saint Bernard stubborn streak. Good thing our Freya is already mostly perfect.

Freya is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.

Don't mind a bit of slobber? Already have an oversized couch with room for one more?

Meet Sandman, a handsome, big-hearted, large mixed-breed dog whose goofy, affectionate personality shines as he gets to know you! This active, smart gentle giant loves leaning in for full-body pets, showing off his fetch skills, zooming around the yard, and working on puzzle toys. Sandman knows "sit" and "drop it" and is eager to learn, but his high enthusiasm means he can occasionally jump or mouth when overstimulated, which is easily redirected with vocal direction and treats. Sandman is seeking an experienced, understanding home with no kids under 12 where he can feel secure, continue training, and share all his sweet face kisses!
