Hi there, my name is Margo, and I'm a 6-year-old Lab mix looking for a special kind of home. Life at the shelter is a bit overwhelming for me, and I'm hoping to find a quiet and loving place where I can truly relax. I'm a sensitive girl, and loud noises and busy environments tend to stress me out. What I really crave is a peaceful routine, gentle walks, and lots of cozy cuddles. Like many dogs my age, I could use some dental care. My adopters should be prepared to schedule an appointment with their vet to make sure my teeth are in tip-top shape. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion who will appreciate your patience and understanding, please consider giving me a chance. I promise to repay your kindness with endless love and devotion.

IN FOSTER

Hello! I'm Bishop. Best guess is that I may be a shepherd/pittie mix. What we know for certain is that I am smart, tenacious, curious, loyal, and mischievous - so basically I'm a puppy. I was in foster care with a big dog and a small dog. I enjoy playing with other dogs, but I am still teeny tiny so all interactions should be supervised to keep me safe. One of my most adorable personality traits is that I howl when I'm eating my food - every so often I stop eating to let out a little "a-wooooo" of appreciation. When not eating, I love to press up against your hip/thigh on the couch while you watch TV. And I enjoy stuffed toys and (at the moment) shoelaces. Please don't let me eat your shoelaces. If you think you might appreciate me as much as I appreciate a good meal, we should meet!

What my friends at OHS say about me:

  • I love nothing more than making new friends, human and canine!
  • I'm very active and will need positive outlets for my energy.
  • Nothing gets past my nose! I take my role as inspector very seriously. I'm curious and will investigate whatever my people-friends are busy with.
  • Looking for a conversation partner? I'm quite a talkative (and loud!) guy. I might not be the best suited for apartment-style living.
  • Mental enrichment activities are a great way to entertain me and work my brain.

The type of home I'm looking for:

  • I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. Not every dog enjoys my rambunctious greetings and wrestling.

"COLE MAN" VERY SPECIAL guy!!West Columbia Gorge HS Frenchie, Pug, Chow, Lab. Rottie, Golden, Boxer active, SMART! gentle GREAT Temperment!MIX -

Very special little guy. Cole-man seems to be waiting for a great home to discover him.  I think he is the nicest dog out there
He was my foster for 2 months before being transferred and I love him dearly. Cole has the best temperament, has no handling issues, is very smart and has the softest loose fur and squishy face.  He is also a busy boy -more than average- and engages with his toys and the other home dogs much of the day, ( unless napping) so even though he is chill and loves to snuggle,  he needs someone who will give him lots of attention!  He is a fascinating mix of breeds. (see below dna chart) ps- if you adopt, I can  pet sit him if needed

Cole is playful, full of joy, and always ready for an adventure. Whether it's a hike, a romp in the yard, or a game of fetch, he's your perfect companion. After a fun-filled day, Cole enjoys nothing more than snuggling up with his furrever family, soaking in all the love and affection. He's social and loves to make new friends (both human and furry). Dont miss your chance to meet this amazing pup!

===============================================================
=================================================================================

note - update - Cole has now been neutered!

He has a little underbite

Coleman has a blue tongue - he's part chow

=======================================================

Cole is a love! so affectionate, funny and full of a zest for life.  He will test your patience, fulfill your yen for training; will entertain you with his antics, and delight you with his affection. Everyone who meets Coleman, likes him!

Cole is not a dog for someone who wants a dog who just lays in the corner and is satisfied with a walk and a few good meals a day. He's looking for a buddy who is home more than not, someone who enjoys funny dogs and their personalities, and can give training /guidance -  but not take away Cole's silliness and love for life. He deserves a good home that is able to continue to provide him with good care

When he feels secure with the routine, Cole can also be a mellow and chill guy.  He has a great temperament!

Cole is not a dog for very young children or sedentary older folks.  Nor is he a good match with a really rowdy assertive dog  as he can get overwhelmed is he is pushed too hard- at least until he gets to know the other dog well.  He's not a dog for someone who lacks patience and expects strict obedience (what fun is that?) But he IS a dog for those who have alot of love for dogs with lots of personality and charm.

notes: He usually takes treats very gently, HOWEVER - he once or twice grabbed for a treat or hand held toy very hard and with young children that would be a problem.  Cole also is very physical(can be pushy)and wants to roll around or play - and can get mouthy -when you are on the floor at his level - and this could be a problem with little kids)

Cats - he hasn't met any actual cats in foster, (and any history with them is unknown) but he showed a distinct fear towards a stuffed cat "decoy" when he was brought into the same room with one. If someone were savvy and proceeded patiently, slowly and gently introducing him to a cat (taking more than one session to do this)  it is possible he could become comfortable and live with a savvy cat and not be afraid of it-  if people expected immediate results, and pushed too hard, he could go in the other direction

in foster home

Cole is an adorable, energetic pup who is around 1 year old. With his squishy face, floppy ears, dark brindle coat, and a charming blue tongue, he's sure to steal your heart! Cole was once a stray who had a rough start, but thanks to love and care, he's now a healthy, happy boy. He forms strong bonds and is super affectionate-massages are his favorite! While he can be a bit "pushy" for attention, a simple "sit" can help him settle down. Plus, he's a fetch enthusiast and loves playing with his toys. Though house-training took some time, Cole is now reliable with regular potty breaks, and with a regular schedule he will do great! He thrives in a home with another dog to keep him company. Cole enjoys walks and has gained confidence on a leash, especially with a buddy. He can be vocal at times, particularly during meals or when crated, but settles down quickly. This playful pup is curious and loves to explore, so it's best to keep belongings out of reach. He can be rambunctious in the evenings, making walks a great way to burn off some energy. With a mix of breeds-think Lab, Pug, and Chow-Cole is one-of-a-kind! He's looking for a patient, loving home that can give him the attention he craves. If you're ready for endless love and companionship, consider adopting Cole today! 🐾❤️ In a fun twist, his foster mom even did a DNA test-prepare to be surprised by the results! If you're ready to welcome a playful, loving, and sometimes silly friend into your home, this good boy is waiting for you!
