"GINGER" is Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS
"One thing we know about Portland is that we love our pitbulls. And we’re not just saying that because the human running these socials has one. Or because our founders have one. Or because a lot of our volunteers have one.
Okay geez, we may be biased. But it’s true nonetheless. Portland loves pitties. So we can’t understand why our 9 year old pittie-mix, Ginger, doesn’t have hundreds of applications to sort through. This senior girl doesn’t even have 10. Or…..1.
She loves people and she’s great with the other dogs in her foster home, but doesn’t enjoy high energy or aggressive play with other pups. (No cats please, as well) Ginger just wants to be loved. Loved as much as she loves toys, which is a LOT. Ginger has never met a stuffy she didn’t love. And if there are no stuffed toys available? She will happily hold a ball, a stick, a frisbee...any object that can be thrown. She sure can’t wait for a basket of toys in her very own home.
Friendly, cuddly, and smart, Ginger is an easy keeper. She is polite in the house and housetrained. She knows sit, down, stay, come and shake. She’ll do anything for affection and for someone to toss a toy for her.
Ginger is working on her leash skills and loves walks. She pulls a bit towards other people and dogs, but is easily redirected - unlike what we’ve been told our whole lives, old dogs can indeed learn new tricks!. Ginger has had normal senior blood work. Like all of our Stumpies, Ginger is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.
Ginger was left at the shelter at 9 years old for reasons we’ll never know, but what we do know is that her true forever human is out there and will give her the time to feel safe and loved so she can finally believe that she is HOME." STUMPTOWN STRAYS FB 11/11/24

Ginger, our 49 pound 9 year old pitty mix, has never met a stuffy she didn't love. And if there are no stuffed toys available? Ginger will happily hold a ball, a stick, a frisbee...any object that can be thrown. So it was pretty tough on Ginger when she was healing from her dental surgery and couldn't hold anything. Now that this charmer is healed, she can't wait for a basket of toys in her own home.
Ginger came to us after her owners abandoned her at the shelter. She was so sweet and friendly that we were asked to take her in. Ginger loved the people and the dogs and the shelter, but she really needed her teeth fixed. Although Ginger had to lose several infected molars, she's much more comfortable without them.
Friendly, cuddly, and smart, Ginger is an easy keeper. She is polite in the house so her foster family has not had to crate her. She gets along well with large and small dogs, but chases cats, so no felines in her home. Housetrained, Ginger also knows sit, down, stay, come and shake. She'll do anything for affection and for someone to toss a toy for her.
Ginger is great on a leash and loves walks. She pulls a bit towards other people and dogs, but is easily redirected. Ginger has had normal senior blood work.
Like all of our Stumpies, Ginger is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $250.

Ginger, the 9.5-year-old mixed breed sweetheart, may be a bit shy at
first, but once she warms up, her affectionate nature shines through.
This gentle lady has a heart full of love to give, and she's not afraid
to show it with a flurry of sweet kisses. Ginger's calm and patient
demeanor makes her a wonderful companion, especially for those seeking a
loyal and devoted friend. Though she may take a little time to open up,
the love and warmth she offers are more than worth the wait.
