We will be open to the public for adoptions from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14.
Adoptions
will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. Please come ready to
take your new dog home, as we cannot hold an animal for you to pick up
later.
The Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter is located at 1901 SE 24th
Avenue in Hillsboro, just off Tualatin Valley Highway by Lowe’s and Home
Depot.
- Adult dogs (8+ months): $200
- Puppies (8 weeks to 7 months): $300
All
animals are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They
also receive DA2PP, Bordetella, and rabies vaccinations (as appropriate
for their age), as well as dewormer and flea prevention.
The adoption fee includes a one-year Washington County dog license.
=============== What do I need to bring with me to adopt?
Please bring identification with your current address and a way to pay the adoption fee. We can accept cash, check and most credit or debit cards. It
can be stressful and provide misleading information to do pet-to-pet
meets before adoption, so please don’t bring any dogs or other pets from
your household with you. Our staff will provide you with resources and
guidance on introducing newly adopted pets into your home.
Where can I see the dogs that are available for adoption?
We
appreciate you thinking ahead about what kind of dog might be right for
your family! Animals are constantly moving in and out of our shelter,
so the dogs available for adoption can change quickly.
We will
post some of our adoptable dogs on our social media in advance of the
event, but you will need to visit us in person during the adoption event
for the most complete listing of the dogs at our shelter who are
looking for new families.
