The dogs at Clackamas Co shelter have a harder time getting adopted since recent budget cuts closed the shelter on Saturdays.
The
longer stays are tough on dogs! Please consider taking some time on a Tues
thru Friday 1:00-4:00 pm to visit with one of the adoptable dogs!
Fill out our adoption application. There is a $10 application fee due at
the time of submission. Please apply on our website and we will contact
you. If you’re applying from out of state to adopt a dog, please note
that it is a requirement that you come meet the dog at our facility.
Adoptions are available by appointment only. We will call you as soon as
your approved adoption application is next in our queue. Thank you for
your patience and understanding as we find homes for pets as quickly and

Description: Hello, my name is Gale. I'm about 8 months
old and I weigh about 48 pounds. I can be a little shy when I first
meet new people, but if you give me a little time and be patience, I can
be a good companian. I walk nicely on leash and when I get used to your
routine, I would love to join you for walks, hikes, or any outdoor
adventures.
I can be a little dog selective and I don't enjoy bossy
dogs, however as long as we're introduced slowly and appropriately we
should get along. I came in with a male German Shepherd and I really
liked him. I have been introduced to a female dog that had lots of
energy and I was a little timid at first, but then I decided that I
would love to play with her. The staff doesn't know how I would react to
cats or small animals. Proper introductions are a must.
I'm looking for a patient, loving home where I can keep building
confidence and be your fun, loyal companion. I need someone that is
willing to take me to training classes to make me the best dog I can be.
1) Gale would do best with a new family who is committed to her mental, physical, and training needs.
2) We don't know how Gale will be with cats or other small animals,
so be sure to discuss proper introductions between any resident small
animals with your adoption counselor.
3) Gale has been been introduced to other dogs at the shelter, but
we recommend discussing introductions with your dog with your adoption
counselor.
4) Gale would likely do best in a home without children, so that she can be a great companion to her people.
