Athena is a total sweetheart who absolutely adores being carried around like royalty. 👑 Because she's a feisty little terrier, she can get a bit "mouthy" when she gets super excited during playtime, so she'll need a patient family ready to work on basic training and puppy manners. He is an incredibly affectionate boy who absolutely loves soaking up pets and head scratches from his human pals. When he's not looking for love, he is likely putting on a comedy show by chasing his own tail-it is pure, unadulterated entertainment! 🔄🐶 Because Pambazo is still a young youngster, he can get a little mouthy when he gets excited. It's all in good fun, but he needs a dedicated family ready to guide him with some consistent training to help him learn his big-boy manners. 🎓❤️ If you have the time, love, and dedication to help this sweet guy blossom, Pambazo is ready to fill your life with endless loyalty and laughs!

"FOREVER FOSTERS NEEDED! "OLD DOG HAVEN" Western WA and PORTLAND, OR area

Old Dog Haven  PAYS all medical bills for the Forever Foster homes! Fosters need to live in Western WA or Portland, OR area (for proximity to Vet care)

www.olddoghaven.org

 Old Dog Haven FB  7/26/26

"These dogs are still waiting for homes to go to!

OLAF  He is not up for adoption through the shelter he was surrendered to. The shelter has asked if we will take him into one of our permanent foster homes.Olaf is a neutered male, a pom mix (perhaps with American Eskimo) who is currently quite overweight at 33 pounds.

This beautiful little fellow came into the shelter when his owner went to a care facility and is confused about what's happened to him and not anxious to be outside without his temporary foster. He has good potty manners, however, and is good with the resident dog and a much bigger visitor - even wanting to play,
showing good skills with other dogs.

He has a moderate heart murmur and a cough that seems to be tracheal; we'll want to investigate both. He may be hypothyroid, which would explain some of the excess weight. He's missing many teeth, and if it is determined through vetting that he can be put under anesthesia, he will have a dental. ALL of his veterinary care will be covered by Old Dog Haven (thanks to donations!).

We hope to quickly find an Old Dog Haven home that can get started on weight loss (to make him healthier) and address his other issues. Please let us know if he
might be a good fit for you.

If you'd like to give Olaf the home he needs as an Old Dog Haven Forever Foster dog, read through the link below and email our applications manager.

 ===========================

CLANCY
"Clancy" is a Shih tzu, an intact male who weighs 18 pounds. In his shelter foster home, is friendly, smart, easygoing, affectionate and cuddly. He is housebroken and good about baths; after the horrible mats were shaved off, he was just thrilled and pranced around. He enjoys the yard and the sun!

We don't know for sure how he does with other dogs, but he came from a very large confiscate so undoubtedly he was around others?

He has a serious medical condition: a big heart murmur and a wheezy cough that is better on medication. He needs to see a cardiologist ASAP. He also has "dry eye" (takes the eye drops well) and needs a dental - his bloodwork was OK, which is encouraging!

He sounds like such a nice dog who deserves to have the rest of his life be much better than what he just went through. If you can help, please let us know.

If you are ready to join our compassionate group of senior dog lovers, Clancy needs YOU! Here is where you can read more about becoming Old Dog Haven Forever Foster:

https://olddoghaven.org/how-to-help/fostering/
=============================================================

SHADOW  "Shadow" is a spayed female Shiba Inu. She is 12 years old and weighs 18 pounds
(small for the breed). This sweet, gentle girl has been suffering from
bad skin inflammation (probably allergic) for a few months; she had some
treatment in April that helped a lot, but now it's worsened again. We
are hoping to get lab work results soon to know about the rest of her
health.

She has lived peacefully with other dogs (tends to stay to
herself with strange dogs) and is good with the school-age kids in the
home, very good on leash.

Shadow is a nondemanding friend who seems to know when
she is needed, according to her person who has no choice but to give her
up. If you are interested in giving this gentle girl the forever home she needs and have time to work on fixing her skin back up (baths, topicals, maybe specialist visits), we would love to hear from you!

Below is where you can read more about being an Old Dog Haven Forever Foster. Once you've read through, if you would like to join our forever foster family, please email our applications manager.

https://olddoghaven.org/how-to-help/fostering/

"There was a question about why we call our fosters "forever fosters". Old Dog Haven assumes responsibility for every dog we take into our care for life. This means the fosters do not "own" the dogs. Our mission is to responsibly rescue senior dogs, sending them to private homes. These are our forever fosters. Old Dog Haven has no shelter or facility, so to take a dog into our care, we must have a home to send the dog to. We have an application process that includes an application, phone interviews, and a home visit. We don't want to send a dog to a home that we do not feel good about. After all, our goal is to give each senior dog in our care a better life than the one they had previously.
We are looking for new fosters in W. Washington and Portland, Oregon. People ask why we do not expand our foster area. We have vet clinics and specialists, and emergency hospitals we work with. That does not mean we get discounts with all of them-it means we have a good, working relationship with these businesses that understand and respect our mission.
When one becomes a forever foster for Old Dog Haven, the dog stays with you for the duration of their life. You have the full support of other fosters, foster coordinators, and our experienced team who oversees the care of our dogs. You are never alone in this journey!
You can read more about fostering for Old Dog Haven on our website here:
What we know about Olaf, Shadow and Clancy are in their individual photo captions.
We hope to hear from you soon"

"MARTHA" *Small- size* BLUE HEELER mix PUPPY *Found Starved* "STUMPTOWN STRAYS"

Stumptown Strays" is a wonderful local Rescue that helps shelter dogs in need of medical assistance.

"MARTHA"Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS

Adoption $450  Breed: Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler Mix

spayed female 7 mths 19 lbs  Housetrained: no

ok with Dogs - Yes,  Cats - Yes,   Kids - Yes

Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Funny, Loves Kisses, Playful

adoption application

Martha, our 7 month old 19 pound cattle dog mix puppy, doesn't have thumbs. Why do we bring that up? Because we're pretty sure that's the only thing stopping Martha from taking over the world. Sure, we're biased because we love her, but Martha is the smartest kid in class. Time to find this little overachiever an A+ home.

Martha was found in a kennel by the side of the road. She was so starved she was nearly skeletal. (Side note: Why does this keep happening, Portland? Get it together; we're better than this.) Several weeks and many meals later, Martha is now as healthy as she is happy. Which has allowed Martha to discover her love of stuffies, chews and, most importantly, snuggles.

Although initally a little timid, Martha adores people. She will show her affection with full body flops onto willing participants. Martha has even been good with kids. She does some typical cattle dog herding, so we don't recommend kids under 10 in her home. Crate trained (with some initial whining), Martha is a good house guest. She is getting better with potty training and has been respectful of cats. Martha likes dogs as well but prefers dogs her size; big dogs are a little scary to her. We expect Martha to be less than 30 pounds fully grown.

Martha's ideal adopter will want to train a working dog puppy. This means lots of structure and games and exercise. Martha is good on a leash and has been on several outings, so we know she'll be a great adventure buddy for the right person.

Martha is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.

Have you been looking for a new, thumb-less best friend?

Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Funny, Playful

Marco, our 2 year old 18 pound pug mix, really overdoes the cute. He could have stopped at the underbite and big watery eyes. But, not our Marco. He added a curly tail and floppy personality. Then he thought he'd wear a little cowboy outfit to his veterinary appointment. Calm down, Marco. We get it; you're adorable.

Found stray after being hit by a car, Marco was the cutest guy to ever wear a splint. His front leg and pelvis were both broken. Thanks to the @1510Foundation for covering his care in it's entirety, we were able to get Marco in to the surgeon. Now healed, Marco's ready to strut his stuff all over town.

Marco is a very friendly dog and hasn't met a person that he doesn't like. He's crate and potty trained and has enjoys playing with other dogs. Marco chases the cats in his foster home, which annoys them, so we recommend no cats in Marco's future home. We haven't seen Marco with kids. He's very gentle, however, and we expect he would be fine with kids over 8.

Playful and goofy, Marco is loving being able to go on adventures around town. He's still very puppyish and like all young dogs, Marco could use a bit more training. For example, Marco is a little vocal when he wants attention and he's learning not to jump up.. His smile when he does something right makes it all worth it.

Marco is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives.

Think you can handle people constantly fawning over your dog?

"KEANU" AUSSIE/Shepherd MIX? *Velcrodog* *good with dogs, cats, kids* "STUMPTOWN STRAYS

Stumptown Strays" is a wonderful local Rescue that helps shelter dogs in need of medical assistance.

"KEANU"Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS

Adoption $200  Breed: Shepherd Mix

Neutered male 2 yrs 50 lbs  Housetrained: yes

ok with Dogs - Yes,  Cats - Yes,   Kids - Yes

Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Funny, Loves Kisses

adoption application

Keanu, our 2 year old 50 pound shepherd mix, is named after the nicest guy in Hollywood. Why? Keanu is the nicest dog at Stumptown, of course. Does he know Kung Fu? We don’t think so. We’ve never seen Keanu with a surfboard nor have we seen him on a speeding bus. But, if you ask our Keanu his motto, it’s “Be excellent to each other”. It’s time to find this rad dog an equally bodacious home.

When he was found stray, Keanu was very thin and had such a bad flea infestation that his back was completely bald. Keanu had spent so much time chewing on his fur that his teeth had worn to nubs. Despite this history of neglect, Keanu had hearts-for-eyes for everyone he met.
He’s been with us for several weeks and Keanu’s hair is growing back beautifully. On a bland diet, his body finally started to gain weight. Once he was healthy enough, Keanu had his dental procedure - he had to lose quite a few teeth, but it’s honestly only made him cuter.

If given the choice, our Keanu would never sit alone on a park bench. Instead, he prefers to velcro to his favorite people. He’ll make eye contact all day if he could. He’s sweet and, when he wants attention, will kiss his person’s hand. Keanu is great with other dogs, both large and small, and is respectful of cats.

Keanu is crate and potty trained and very gentle. Where Keanu needs some help is with anxiety while on leash and around doors. We aren’t sure why, but Keanu gets a little frantic when a door is opened. He’s getting better about walking on lead, but still doesn’t quite understand what he’s supposed to be doing. To help Keanu with these anxieties, we’ve started him on Prozac. We recommend he stay on this for several months while he’s learning the ropes.
Keanu is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventions. Due to his flea sensitivity, his adopter will need to keep him up to date - we’ll send Keanu’s adopter with several months to start. His adoption fee is $200.
Have you been hoping to be adored by a sweet sheppy mix? Well, as our Keanu would say, party on, dude. Apply to adopt on our website! https://www.stumptownstrays.org/adoption-application

"SAMOSA...JOJO...RUFFLES"Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS

Adoption $400  Breed: GERMAN SHEPHERD/HUSKY/MALAMUTE/LAB

Thanks again to our friend @mingmingchou for another adorable photo session with a couple of The Potato Puppies.  Thanks also to the 15/10 Foundation for their generosity as both Crinkles and Chip will come with a $500 training stipend.

 ===================================================

SAMOSA female Speaking of big, our Samosa is a tank. If she were a human, she'd be on the rugby team. Samosa is the goofiest and most confident; she's also the first to pass out.

=================================

RUFFLES  female  Ruffles is equal parts sweet and smart. The most sensitive of the group, Ruffles is likely thinking big thoughts.

===============================

JOJO  female Jojo is the adventurer. She's the most comfortable in a new space and is the most likely to practice her northern breed voice.

7 weeks on 7/19/26 (born 5/31/26) The puppies will be available for adoption after they're spayed on July 25th.

Housetrained: no....ok with Dogs - Yes,  Cats -Yes,   Kids- Yes  Personality: Affectionate, Curious, Friendly, Funny, Playful    Their adoptions fees are each $400.

Read more about the puppies on our website where you can also find the application to adopt. https://www.stumptownstrays.org/dogs/potato-puppies

The Potato Puppies, our 7 week old shepherd-malamute mixes, would like to introduce a little chaos into your life. Living room too tidy? Shoes annoyingly where they should be? Let the Potato Puppies help. They'll happily rearrange your bookshelf while putting tiny holes in your toes.
Orphaned at just hours old, our team of volunteers worked very hard to bottle feed the potatoes. It took heaps of formula to get the puppies from kiwi sized to watermelon sized. We're pretty confident that our potatoes will be the biggest ones at the farmer's market - based on their DNA tests, they should be 60-80 pounds fully grown.

They have been dewormed and microchipped and are current on their vaccines. The puppies have been socialized to lots of people and lots of other dogs.
It will be a requirement for the adopter of any Potato puppy to enroll in training. We weren’t kidding when we said they are chaos agents -just like every puppy ever. Thanks to the 15/10 Foundation, the puppies all come with a $500 training stipend! So really, there’s no reason NOT to take them to class.Have the time (and room) for one of our Potatoes? Apply to adopt on our website! https://www.stumptownstrays.org/adoption-application

"POPCORN" senior MINIATURE POODLE mix "STUMPTOWN STRAYS"

Stumptown Strays" is a wonderful local Rescue that helps shelter dogs in need of medical assistance.

"POPCORN"Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS

Adoption $250  Breed: Breed: Miniature Poodle

Neutered male 10 yrs 13 lbs  Housetrained: yes

ok with Dogs - Yes,  Cats -unknown,   Kids- Yes

Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Dignified, Gentle

adoption application

Popcorn, our 10 year old 13 pound poodle, loves to be comfy. Give the guy some blankets and he'll carefully arrange them to maximize luxury. Considering the state Popcorn was in when we met him, we don't blame him one bit.

Popcorn was found stray and was so matted that the shelter wasn't sure if he could see. We took Popcorn in and had to immediately shave him. We found multiple grass seeds imbedded in between toes, in his cheeks, even in his ear canals. Fortunately Popcorn's eyes were just fine; they had just been matted shut for a long time. The next step was to address Popcorn's teeth - he had many painfully infected ones. Now that he's recovered from multiple extractions and his haircut is growing out, Popcorn is finally feeling great.

In his foster home, Popcorn has been an easy keeper. He is housetrained and although he doesn't want to be in a kennel, Popcorn is respectful when left alone. He is great with other dogs; we have not see Popcorn with cats but could do an introduction if needed.

A bit timid, it can take Popcorn some time to warm up to new people. Once he does, he is affectionate and sweet. Popcorn is, like all of us, startled by being picked up suddenly. For that reason, we recommend older kids in Popcorn's home. He loves walks, cuddle sessions and sniffing around the yard.

Popcorn is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives.

Popcorn is looking for someone to help him maintain the lifestyle to which he has become accustomed. This shouldn't be too hard - just some spare cushions and a periodic haircut. Think you're up for it?
