"GALE" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106416 Breed: German Shepherd Dog

8-9 months 48 lbs  adoption fee $205 spayed female

Description: Hello, my name is Gale. I'm about 8 months old and I weigh about 48 pounds. I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but if you give me a little time and be patience, I can be a good companian. I walk nicely on leash and when I get used to your routine, I would love to join you for walks, hikes, or any outdoor adventures.

I can be a little dog selective and I don't enjoy bossy dogs, however as long as we're introduced slowly and appropriately we should get along. I came in with a male German Shepherd and I really liked him. I have been introduced to a female dog that had lots of energy and I was a little timid at first, but then I decided that I would love to play with her. The staff doesn't know how I would react to cats or small animals. Proper introductions are a must.

I'm looking for a patient, loving home where I can keep building confidence and be your fun, loyal companion. I need someone that is willing to take me to training classes to make me the best dog I can be.

1) Gale would do best with a new family who is committed to her mental, physical, and training needs.
2) We don't know how Gale will be with cats or other small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions between any resident small animals with your adoption counselor.
3) Gale has been been introduced to other dogs at the shelter, but we recommend discussing introductions with your dog with your adoption counselor.
4) Gale would likely do best in a home without children, so that she can be a great companion to her people.

"APOLLO" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106397 Breed: Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Mix

neutered male Age: 1 yrs 30 lbs   adoption fee $210?

Description: Hello, my name is Apollo. Like my name, I'm ready to shine bright in someone's life. I am about 1 year old and currently weigh around 30 pounds, though my healthy weight will likely be closer to 40–45 pounds. I came into the shelter underweight, but I have been enjoying good meals, treats, and lots of care while I wait for my forever home.

I can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once I warm up, I become a total velcro dog. I love affection, pets, and being close to my people. I also love being outside and would make a great partner for walks, adventures, and spending time outdoors. I may be on the petite side, but I have a big heart and lots of love to give.

Please fill out an application so we can have a proper introduction and get to know each other. I hope to meet you soon!
Apollo loves treats, attention, and outdoor time. He would likely enjoy walks, adventures, and activities that allow him to bond closely with his person.

- We are unsure how Apollo would do with small animals or cats, but he is a herding breed! Please be sure to discuss any potential interactions with smaller animals with your adoption counselor.

Apollo has shown some minimal food resource guarding behaviors toward other dogs when they pass by his kennel. We believe this is a result of his previous circumstances where he may have needed to scavenge for food.
Apollo has done well with people handling his food and has not shown these behaviors toward humans.
Due to this behavior, we are recommending he be the only dog in the household.

-Apollo would do best in a home with older children who can respect his space and help him continue building confidence and security.

"MYRTLE" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106295Breed:Siberian Husky/Pit Bull Terrier

2 yrs 70 lbs  adoption fee $205 spayed female

Description: Hello, my name is Myrtle. I am named after the beautiful myrtle wood you can find in the state. You don't need to go very far to find this Myrtle, I'm right here waiting for you. I'm a 2-year-old female Husky, pitbull, and I'm not sure what else is in my genealogy. I weigh around 70 pounds but look like a medium sized dog. I have made some friends at the shelter, but I am cautious around strangers. I do like to go walking and have gotten bouncy playful in the outside play yards. Come on down, just like the price is right. I might be the right prize for you. I can be your prize of love and happiness. Please fill out an application so we can have a proper introduction to get to know each other. See you soon.

1) Myrtle is a 2-year-old Husky / Pitbull mix who will do best in a home with some dog experience. One that will give her plenty of positive reinforcement and exercise through walks, obedience classes, hikes and/or play sessions.

2) We do not know how Myrtle would act towards cats or small animals. Due to the breed characteristics a family with no cats or small animals would be preferred. Please be sure to discuss this with your adoption counselor if you have small animals living in the house.

3) Myrtle will do best with kids 13 and up due to her size and breed characteristics of having possible herding instincts.

4) Myrtle may do great with dogs similar in size who are respectful of other dogs' space. If you have another dog in your home, we will need to set up a meet and greet.

5) Myrtle likes to be active so a secure fenced yard would work best for her to get proper exercise
.
