Aloo is all puppy, all the time-he loves to run, play fetch, and explore the world with gusto. He's smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn, but he'll need an active family that's ready to continue his training and channel his boundless energy into positive outlets. If you're ready for daily jogs, trips to the dog park, and endless tail wags, Aloo is ready to fill your life with love and laughter. Hi everyone, I'm Monty! I'm a smart and energetic 1 year, 6 month old Belgian Malinois looking for a home that understands my breed. I'm a quick learner and thrive on having a job to do, whether it's learning new tricks, going on long runs, or playing fetch. I can be a little shy with new people at first, but with patience, treats, and affection, I'm sure to become your loyal best friend. Could you be my forever adventure buddy? The shelter recommends no busy apartment or townhouse living, and no busy streets, as I like my personal space with strangers. 🐾🧑😊

OOBIE DOOBIE Available 10/1/2025  #335737

"Looks like"American Bulldog ( English Bulldog?) neutered male, 8 yrs 33 lbs,  $75

What my friends at OHS say about me:

Making new friends is so much fun! I'm a very social and confident boy.

  • I LOVE people and am not afraid to ask for their affection.
  • I've been told my zest for life can be a little too much, so my new home will need to provide me with some training, and exercise, to help me better handle my enthusiasm.
  • Mental enrichment activities are a great way to entertain me and work my brain.
  • High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.
  • I have chronic ear infections which will require long term management.
  • I have chronic skin issues which will require long term management. It can be caused by different factors such as fleas, food or environmental factors.

The type of home I'm looking for:   My energy and size can be a lot for little kids, but I would do great with older, dog-savvy children

Meet Sleepy! This guy is one of the goofiest, silliest pit bull mixes you'll ever meet! He is full of energy and loves to romp around with his favorite toys. He's got a big, goofy grin that's sure to melt your heart. You might see him mouthing on his blankets while he's here; this is a self-soothing technique that helps him cope with stress. Food enrichment toys such as lick mats (under supervision) and hard chew bones are another great way for him to get his energy out! 🐾 Our veterinarian has noted a heart murmur and some signs of dental disease, both of which can be discussed further with your regular veterinarian - we definitely don't want to steer you away from this lovebug! ✨ Sleepy is dog selective, so he'll need a home where he can be the star of the show or have careful, proper and controlled introductions to any potential furry siblings. He's looking for an active family who can keep up with his playful antics and provide him with plenty of love and attention. He knows "sit" and "shake," takes treats gently, and enjoys pets! He's friendly with people, greeting them with a wagging tail and little or no jumping. 🐾 If you're ready for endless laughter and a whole lot of love, Sleepy might be the perfect pup for you! πŸ’˜

"VASHER" *Petite* KELPIE mix *NEEDS ACTIVE family * *likes dogs* "OHS- Portland"

"Animal shelters around the country are struggling to find homes for large dogs–especially those with behavior challenges. OHS’ Behavior Modification program helps dogs and cats who have run out of options.
They benefit from the healing environment of the Behavior and Rescue Center at OHS to help them transform. Cats are getting ready for adoption 66% faster and dogs are ready 77% faster.
Vasher, a 1-year-old kelpie was transferred from Marion County Dog Services, he became frustrated in the shelter environment and his behavior deteriorated.
He is now at the Behavior and Rescue Center where he is learning valuable skills to be successful in a home. Your support can help animals like Vasher get the training support they need to be ready to find a loving home."OHS- FB 10/1/25

"DECAF med-sz PUPPY "**NEEDS MEDICAL REHAB** "Humane Society of SW Washington- VANCOUVER"

 UPDATE 10/1/25 I'm in a quieter area.

"DECAF"  Available for Adoption at the HUMANE SOCIETY OF SW WASHINGTON  in VANCOUVER

dogs available HS SW Washington (both Vancouver and Longview)

DECAF #168643 neutered male 7 mths 34 lbs  $500

Breed: Shepherd

Here's what you need to know about me:

I'm an active dog! I would love to go home with a family who can help me burn off energy with exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures.

I have special medical needs. I injured my leg and have had two surgeries to repair it. I'm still on strict exercise limitations for the next month and will need my family to be committed to my healing journey so I can continue growing into a healthy pup.

For the next month, I am unable to run, jump, or play like a "normal puppy". I need to be crated for breaks, or confined to a small room without any furniture, so I don't jump up when I shouldn't.

I need to go to an adult-only home where I will be the only pet (for now). I'm so friendly that I could easily injure myself again by getting too excited, but I'd love to have other animals around once I'm fully healed!

My friends at the shelter will continue to support me until I'm medically cleared! They told me that I have a trainer who can help my new family learn about how to support my exercise needs until I can run again, and the vets will check up on me until I'm cleared from my final post-surgery recheck.

"ZACHARY" *Foster Home* mature COCKER SPANIEL "HUMANE SOCIETY OF SW WASH-VANCOUVER

"ZACHARY."  Available for Adoption at the HUMANE SOCIETY OF SW WASHINGTON  in VANCOUVER

dogs available HS SW Washington (both Vancouver and Longview)

ZACHARY #169420 neutered male 9 yr 8mth 14 lbs  $25  IN FOSTER

Breed: Spaniel, American Cocker

This pet is in foster, you won't find them at the shelter

My foster knows me best! Here is what they had to say about me:

Zachary is a loving, affectionate, sociable and good-tempered little dude that is not hard to please. He loves to cuddle with his human compadres on the couch. He has a bit of separation anxiety, but in a kennel he settles pretty quickly.

Zachary needs a fairly escape proof yard because if his humans are on the other side he WILL find a way to get out if there is one. He just really loves to be near you and would love nothing more than to follow you everywhere you go and never miss an opportunity to curl up in your lap. He tends to be a little shy when it comes to encountering new things in his environment. He does well with slow introductions and gets comfortable once he knows it's safe, or if you go first. He needs a structured potty routine, but is so cooperative he makes it simple.

He has settled in easily to my home and with my dog. He likes to relax, not be super active, so if a cuddly and calm guy is what you need, he will win your heart.

It's recommended he meet any dogs or kids living in his new home before he's adopted. He just wants to make sure everyone gets along.
