"DOUG" SO HANDSOME! DOBIE/Shepherd mix "OHS- PORTLAND"

"DOUG" AVAILABLE FOR Adoption at Oregon Humane Society  in Portland

DOUG  #326305  Available 4/16/2025 Neutered male,  2 yr 2 mth, 76 lb

 $400 "looks like" Doberman/Shepherd

What my friends at OHS say about me:

  • I may be shy at first, but once we get to know each other I will shower you with love!
  • I would love to get up and go adventure with you.
  • Giddy-up! The staff here call me a pony because I like to stand on my hind legs for easier access to pets.
  • Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
  • Mental enrichment activities are a great way to entertain me and work my brain.

Lacey Shelter ID: 105886  Golden Retriever, spayed female, 12 yr 78 lbs

Sasha Shelter ID: 105886  German Shepherd, spayed female, 6 yrs

Adopting two dogs at once can be daunting, we know - especially when they're larger dogs! But if you're looking for a pair that go together like peanut butter and jelly, we have just the ladies for you! Meet Lacey, a 12 year old Golden Retriever who weighs about 78lbs. Lacey is a polite and lovely Golden Retriever lady, who needs everyone to know that she is a package deal - she needs to go home with her sister, Sasha! Lacey is a 6 year old German Shepherd, so be sure to read her adoption profile, too! Sasha and Lacey are bonded sisters who don't like to be apart from one another here at the shelter. Due to no fault of their own, they have found themselves in need of a new home, where they can bond with a new family while also having one another to rely on for emotional security.

1) Lacey is a sweet older lady who is looking for a moderately active home to call her own. She may do great as a first time dog for a family who is prepared for two large dogs to enter their home at the same time.

2) Lacey and Sasha have been dog friendly/dog neutral here at the shelter! They may do well with another lower energy dog, but likely would be just happy with one another.

3) We don't know how Lacey or Sasha will be with cats or other small animals, so please discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor if you have any resident cats or small animals.

4) Due to their age and wiggly nature, Lacey and Sasha may do best in a home with children who are at least 9 years of age and older.

Meet Sam{Sammy}, a vibrant, pint-sized 6-year-old American Husky mix with a zest for life! This playful girl is always ready for an adventure, whether it's a brisk walk in the park, a game of fetch, or learning new tricks (she's incredibly food-motivated!). Sam's high energy means she'd thrive in an active home with plenty of opportunities for exercise and mental stimulation. She's a smart cookie and eager to please, making training a rewarding experience for both of you. 🌟 Important Note: Sam does exhibit some resource guarding of her food and toys. Potential adopters should be aware of this and willing to work with her using positive reinforcement techniques to manage this behavior. This may require some patience and understanding. Additionally, Sam is handling sensitive, and can be a bit cautious in new situations, and she needs a patient and understanding adopter who will give her time to adjust. 🐾 Once she builds trust, she blossoms into a loving and loyal companion. She's looking for a forever home where she can feel safe and secure, and in return, she'll shower you with affection and endless entertainment. If you're ready for a fun-loving and devoted furry friend, and are prepared to work with her resource guarding and sensitivity, Sam might just be the perfect match!

"SAINT" up for a drive? GOOFY DOBIE/Shepherd mix "YAKIMA Humane SOCIETY"

 Yakima Humane Society   info

Dogs on their website   https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/dogs/

Yakima, WA is a long drive from Portland, but the Yakima Humane Society seems like a decent animal shelter that could use a boost for attention.   They spay/neuter all their adoption pets and try to do adequate adoption screening (which is more than can be currently said of Mult County animal shelter!)

SAINT intake 1/4/25  Pet id 57578408 Adoption fee $175

"Listed as" Dobie/Shepherd, male, 10 mths 25 days (came into the shelter at 8 months, poor guy)

Meet Saint, an eight month old male Doberman/German Shepherd mix weighing 63 pounds.

Saint is a sweet boy who was a bit nervous when he first came in to us. He is kind of a goober and is a little unsure of new situations so he looks to his people for support. Once he gets all of the love and attention/reassurance he is a different dog. He is a friendly boy who just needs some socializing and training so he can approach new situations with confidence. Saint has met a small dog and done well, however, we do recommend doing a meet and greet if there is another dog in the home as Saint can be a bit of a dork and not all personalities will get along. He recently met a medium sized dog and just wanted to play like the dork he is, we adore this silly guy! He walks pretty well on leash, especially for his age!

This pet is available for adoption on 1/7/2025 at 3:56 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.

Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?
That's where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works.

Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet?
Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/

Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.

"PIE" BEST young GShep *BREED Ambassador! *Loves dogs* "STUMPTOWN STRAYS"

PIE sound SO much like my former favorite foster German Shepherd (mix?)  LUMAN!  Hope PIE finds the most amazing home!  Thank you Stumptown Stray and foster for helping her!

"Stumptown Strays" is a wonderful local Rescue that helps shelter dogs in need of medical assistance.

===========

"Our sweet Pie is still on the search for her very own forever home!
This 1 year old, 75 pound, German Shepherd-y mix girl was taken to the shelter after being hit by a car and fracturing her right tibia. After surgery and lots of time healing, you’d never know she ever had an issue as she bounds around, ready for anything!
This big affectionate puppy would LOVE an active adopter (are you a runner or a hiker? She’s your girl! Do you love teaching dogs tricks? Pie would like to learn them all! Do you have a big pup that wants to run around and is looking for a playmate? Pie can’t wait to meet them!)
Her adoption fee has been sponsored in the hopes it helps her find a wonderful home. So what are you waiting for?? Learn more about Pie and apply to adopt on our website! https://www.stumptownstrays.org/dogs/pie "  STUMPTOWN STRAYS FB 4/5/25

"PIE" is Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS

German Shepherd (possible mix), spayed female, house trained, 1 yr 75 lbs

Dogs- yes Cats-unknown, Kids-yes Adoption fee "Sponsored!"

PIE on FB - plus videos

Pie, our 75 pound 1 year old mix, looks to be mostly German Shepherd. However, we’re convinced she’s at least 30% mermaid. Rain doesn’t slow Pie down; in fact, she bee-lines toward any puddle just to get her fins, ahem, her paws wet. We also think Pie is 20% parkour-loving kangaroo, 40% Squirrel Spotting Retriever (not currently an AKC breed), and 80% lap dog. Although math is not our strong suit, we are good at spotting excellent dogs. Excellent Pie is ready to find her people.

Pie was taken to the shelter as a stray after being hit by a car. She sustained a fracture to her right tibia (shin bone) that was surgically repaired by the shelter. They asked us to help Pie as she healed. Although the surgeon at the shelter did a great job, Pie’s fracture site got infected, and it took weeks and weeks of antibiotics to clear it up. Her most recent X-rays were perfect, and if you saw Pie’s kangaroo parkour skills, you’d never know anything was wrong with her.

Our Pie LOVES other dogs. She would thrive in a home with another similar sized dog who also wants to play all day. She is friendly, sweet, and wakes up every morning with a wagging tail. Pie is crate and potty trained. She also knows a lot of commands. Pie enjoys learning new things and if we had to pick one adjective to describe her, it would be “enthusiastic”. Toys? Yes, all of them. Walks? Can’t get enough. Gardening? Down-hill skiing? Sure, all of it. Pie just wants to be involved.

Pie needs an active adopter who can appreciate that Pie is basically a big, affectionate puppy. She’d love a running/hiking buddy. We have not seen Pie with cats, but assume she may be a bit big for a cat who isn’t dog-savvy. Pie is good with kids over 8.

Heartworm negative, Pie is current on her preventatives and is microchipped.

To find Pie her perfect home, her adoption fee has been sponsored! Apply to adopt on our website. Link is in our bio!

"MARCELINE" *HOSPICE HOME Needed* darling young Pitmix "STUMPTOWN"

Marcelline came from a local shelter.

"Stumptown Strays" is a wonderful local Rescue that helps shelter dogs in need of medical assistance.

"MARCELINE" is Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS

Pitbull mix, spayed female, house trained, 2 yr 52 lbs

Dogs- yes Cats-no, Kids-10 and up

Personality: Affectionate, Athletic, Playful, Loves, Funny, Friendly

Marceline, our 2 year old 52 pound pitty, is far too young to be seeking a hospice home. And we hate that we are asking for one. But, sadly, that's what Marceline needs. We are seeking a really special family who wants to give Marceline the best life; even if that life may be shorter than it should be.

Marceline was found stray locally with a large growth on her mandible.
Being so young, we were very hopeful that the growth was benign. We took her in, and thanks to the @1510Foundation for covering Marceline's care in its entirety, we were able to get surgery @MedVet Vancouver. There, they removed the tumor along with the front part of her jaw. She's healed beautifully and you can hardly tell that she's now got an overbite.

Sadly, the pathologist classified the tumor as a rare type of cancerous bone tumor. It is likely this tumor will regrow and it could metastasize to her lungs. We don't know when (or honestly even IF) this will happen. It could be in a few months, it could take years. Right now, she has no signs of cancer and is as happy as any dog we've met.

Marceline is a medium energy, super playful dog. She is happy with a sniff walk (and is good on leash) and fetch in the yard. She loves other dogs, especially if they match her vibe. She can get a little persistent about playing, however, so an easily annoyed dog won't be a good match. Marceline can't tell the difference between cats, little dogs and squirrels - she wants to put all of them in her mouth. So no cats or little dogs in her home.

Marceline is friendly with people and loves to cuddle. She has been good with kids that she's met and could live with kids over 10. Marceline is potty-trained, not destructive, and hasn't needed a crate. She would love to be an adventure buddy.

Our Marceline is here for a good time (not a long time). We are still so honored to help Marceline live a pain free life and to give her a chance to be happy. If you have been hoping to give a dog her best years, apply to adopt.

Nickolas is a very handsome boy who weighs in around 70 pounds. He loves to play with people and other dogs, his current favorite playmate is Marci. He will play tug with plush toys and rope toys and is really fun to be around. Nickolas doesn't have a shy bone in his body, he is happy, outgoing and is perfectly fine being the center of attention. This big ole' goofball is ready to go home today and can't wait to go on his next adventure.

This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.
If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.

A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

IZZIE intake 3/21/25  Pet id 57093893  Adoption fee $175

FB Post In foster "Listed as" Doberman/BorderCollie", female, 2 years 5 months 26 days

"Izzie is another one of our amazing dogs in foster. Read below for a little write up from her foster mom and head on over to our website to apply to adopt her today!

Izzie is an adorable 2-year-old Doberman/ Border Collie mix. Izzie can be a bit shy when you first meet her, but with a little patience (and maybe some chicken jerky) she transforms into the silliest and most loving little girl. Inside the home Iz is an absolute cuddle bug. She wants to be right next to you, napping (normally on her back with her paws up in the air), or relishing in your attention and affection. She loves slow mornings that start with lots of cuddles. When her nightly zoomies kick in, she loves playing tug-of-war and will happily dart around the house, hoping you’ll chase her.

Outside, Izzie enjoys exploring her surroundings and making new dog friends. She absolutely lights up when she gets to run and play with a furry companion and burn off some of her energy! She is very submissive with other dogs and does a good job at reading their body language to make sure they are also enjoying playing with her. She is a great running/ walking companion.

Izzie is always excited to get outside, and she doesn’t pull on the leash. When she gets let off of her leash she likes to sniff around and explore but will always run right back to her person.

Izzie rarely chews on items and can always be redirected with a bone or toy. When Izzie first came into foster care, she was pretty nervous and definitely had a few accidents. However, as she has gotten more comfortable, they have become increasingly rare, and she is good at letting you know if she needs to go out. She is not very food motivated, and often lets her breakfast sit until the afternoon (teenagers!).

Izzie has a skittish side, especially with men, which may be the result of some past trauma. She is wary of strangers, but we have seen her gain so much confidence in approaching and engaging with people since coming into foster care. Once you earn her trust, you’ll have a devoted and loving best friend who just wants to be wherever you are.
