"CHLOE" CHIHUAHUA, Permanent Foster HOme Needed "STUMPTOWN STRAYS

CHLOE - PERMANENT PERMANENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED: for "OLD DOG HAVEN"(note: all medical expenses paid by rescue)

(fosters needed -located in W. Washington state or Portland, OR only)
"Chloe" is a 9 pound, spayed female chihuahua. This pretty girl was lucky enough to be taken in by a vet clinic from her previous owner. She is getting good care now but needs a permanent Old Dog Haven home to care for her. She has a Grade 5 of 6 heart murmur with an enlarged heart, so will need to see a cardiologist and
get started on heart meds. She is anemic which may be from a bad flea
infestation (now being treated and her skin is healing); she also has
arthritis in one knee.
The clinic staff report that she is very mellow
and loves to snuggle under blankets on the couch. She has lived with
cats and doesn't seem bothered by roommates of any species - "as sweet
as they come" is their description. We'd like to find her a home that
can care for her heart and give her lots of love.
If you'd like to offer Chloe the home she needs as an Old Dog Haven Forever Foster, all of her vet bills will be paid for by our organization (thanks to donations). Please read through the link below and email: applications@olddoghaven.org
PLEASE NOTE: We respond to inquiries within 24 hours. If you haven't received an email please check your spam folder."  ODH FB 9/8/25

What my friends at OHS say about me:

  • I would love to get up and go adventure with you.
  • I'm very active and will need positive outlets for my energy.
  • I really enjoy playing with toys! all types of toys are my favorite!
  • Need a pal to motivate you to get up and go? That's me!
  • Mental enrichment activities are a great way to entertain me and work my brain.
  • Making new friends is so much fun! I'm a very social and confident pup!
  • I'm a fiend for food! Snacks are a great way to make friends with me and teach me fun tricks.
  • High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.

The type of home I'm looking for:

  • I am not for the first time dog owner. Someone very familiar with canine body language is a must for me.
  • I may do best in a home with a fenced yard, where I can have plenty of opportunity to exercise my active body and mind!

"SARAH" FOSTER NEEDED *sweet old Lab mix* "OLD DOG HAVEN"

SARAH - PERMANENT PERMANENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED: for "OLD DOG HAVEN"(note: all medical expenses paid by rescue)

(fosters needed -located in W. Washington state or Portland, OR only)

"PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME NEEDED:
(in W. Washington state or Portland, OR only)
"Sarah" is a sweet old lady, a 52 pound spayed female.
She is probably a lab with something striking looking! She came in stray a year ago, was reclaimed, and now turned up "stray" again in poor shape. Her owner hasn't claimed her and we really want to get her into an Old Dog Haven home to get the care she needs.
This girl has untreated flea allergy damage, damage to her ears probably from chronic allergies, a growth on one foot that seems to not be growing, bad teeth of course, and arthritis. She is very dirty but very calm, sweet and sociable -with a good pep in her step despite no meds for joint pain. Shelter staff remark on her good behavior for handling; she is not reactive to other dogs in the kennel. "Very sad looking" is the description. If you can take her on and put a smile on her face, please get in touch
ASAP.

As an Old Dog Haven dog, our organization will cover all of her vet bills for life. If you'd like to offer Sarah the home she needs, please read through the information in the link below and contact us at: applications@olddoghaven.org
PLEASE NOTE: We respond to inquiries within 24 hours. If you haven't received an email please check your spam folder."

"WALTER" *soft eyes, sweetest heart* PLOTT HOUND/Retriever mix "YAKIMA HUMANE SOCIETY

"WALTER" AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION WITH YAKIMA HUMANE SOCIETY"

Yakima Humane Society   info

 Yakima Humane Society FB

Dogs on their website   https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/dogs/ Yakima, WA is a long drive from Portland, but the Yakima Humane Society seems like a decent animal shelter that could use a boost for attention.   They spay/neuter all their adoption pets and try to do adequate adoption screening

WALTER intake 9/3/2025  Adoption fee $175

Animal ID 59292992      neutered male, 2 yrs 63 lbs

 "Listed as"Hound/retriever

Meet Walter, a two year old Hound/Retriever mix weighing 63 pounds.

Walter is a gentle soul with the softest eyes and the sweetest heart. Recently surrendered with his companion Edith, Walter spent his entire life outdoors in a kennel. His former family had him since he was a puppy, but due to circumstances, could no longer care for him. When he arrived, Walter had injuries to his ears consistent with repeated fly bites - a sign of how long he's gone without the comfort and care he deserves. Despite it all, Walter remains incredibly friendly, gentle, and eager to connect.

Everything is new to him - indoor living, soft beds, consistent affection - but he's learning the ropes and taking it all in stride. He might do best in a home without cats and will benefit from continued socialization to help build his confidence. What he needs most is patience, kindness, and someone willing to show him what love truly feels like. Walter is ready for a fresh start, and with the right person, he's going to blossom. Could that be you?

This pet is available for adoption on 9.5.25 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.

"PICKLES" smart and active young GERMAN SHEPHERD "MCAS"

MCAS needs to spay/neuter all dogs before adoption, especially the females and purebred dogs! (and ensure that the dogs are given adequate care and recovery time!) Adopting intact dogs to new homes is grossly irresponsible in our current homeless dog crisis. EVEN POOR counties with a much smaller budget for animal control are ensuring that  the dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Management is failing the animals and the community....Possible Solution? - lease/create an offsite space and hire part-time well- qualified Veterinarians and qualified volunteers to help out. Provide safe spay/neuter and provide a safe recovery space so all adoptable animals are spay/neutered before they go to new homesMore veterinarians could be recruited if given a competitive wage and more autonomy

This pet is in foster, you won't find them at the shelter

Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home.

My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them: Potty trained? ✔️ Crate trained? ✔️ Basic commands? ✔️ Goofy? ✔️ ✔️ Masha is a wonderful pup with a huge heart that will make any family happy. She's sweet and playful, always looking for some fun. She is motivated to please her people, and has a great base to continue to learn and grow! Walks well on a leash, and while interested in other animals out and about, she is easily redirected. Give this lady a chance - you will not be disappointed!

It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.

I need a home without cats. We just don't get along - even if they don't mind me, I can't be in the same home with them.

I'm staying in a foster home. Please email adoptions@southwesthumane.org to learn more about how you can meet me.

"PIPER" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106116  Breed: Miniature Pinscher/Mix spayed female 2 yrs 62 lb

Description: Piper is a young lady at around 2 years of age, but she prefers to stop and smell the roses. Don't get her wrong, she enjoys playing and excitement too, but is a lower-key lady than the average 2 year old usually. At about 62lbs, Piper could use a little help losing a few pounds. She isn't REALLY overweight, but a couple pounds of weighloss will really help her to remain healthy and happy. She is a bit of a foodie, and enjoys the finder things in life - primarily, a diet free of poultry to help keep her skin and hair coat healthy. With a good lamb or fish based diet and flea preventative, her skin will continue to heal and she can remain itch-free! Piper loves people, and would love a family that will show her love and help her to learn. Piper would make a great addition to a home that has experience with larger dogs and is ready to show this lady the easy life!

1) Piper may do best in a home that has experience with larger dogs. She is a bit sensitive about having her ears handled and treated, and would do best in a home that is prepared to continue to work on her positive associations with medical treatment of her ears.

2) Piper has been dog selective here at the shelter, and has let staff know that she would prefer to live wtih male dogs if she is sharing her living space with another canine companion.

3) We don't know how Piper will be with cats or other small animals, so please be sure to discuss proper introductions toward any resident small animals and cats with your adoption counselor. The folks who found Piper state that she did well with their chickens and cats, but care should still be taken when introducing Piper to any resident small animals.

4) Due to her sensitive skin and handling sensitivities, Piper would do best in a home with children who are least 13 years of age or older, or in an adult-only home.

"MERLIN" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106118  Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Welsh Corgi - Pembroke neutered male 1 yr 1 mth, 38 lbs

Description: **** Medical Hold through Monday 8th****It's no secret, Merlin is pure magic. Okay, maybe not REAL magic, but once you meet him you will surely be enchanted by his charming personality. Merlin is a unique character and would be a wonderful candidate for a DNA test in his new home - is he a lab mix? A corgi mix? A cattle dog mix? At about 38lbs and around a year old, we aren't sure either. What we ARE sure of is that he is truly irressistable! A lover of fetch, Merlin really hopes that his new home is ready to play ball with him. He has learned that we mere humans grow tired sometimes and so he has learned to throw the ball around himself to catch, too. He knows that that is an endearing trait of his, so he doesn't mind showing it off sometimes as well. If you're looking to be captivated by Merlin, be sure to come and meet him!

1) Merlin would be a great dog for a first time dog owner! He can be a touch shy when meeting new people, so a snack and some soft words will make him your fast friend, too.

2) We don't know how Merlin will be with cats or small animals,
so be sure to discuss proper introductions between Merlin and any resident small animals with your adoption counselor to make sure they can be great housemates.

3) Merlin has been dog friendly here at the shelter,
so be sure to discuss your resident dogs' personality with your adoption counselor to make sure they and Merlin can be good housemates.

4) Due to his intial shy nature, Merlin may do best in a home with children who are at least 9 years of age or older.

"ADONIS" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106115  Breed: Miniature Pinscher/Mix neutered male 2 yrs 15 lb

Description: **** Medical Hold through Monday 8th****Adonis is a handsome young man at about 2 years of age and at a petite 15lbs, he is a perfect companion for whatever adventures his new family is up to. A lover of going places, Adonis is used to wearing a harness and being dressed for success - by this, he means that his throat gets a touch scratchy and irritated if he isn't wearing a harness for walks, so he wouldn't mind if you had a few that you'd enjoy color-coordinating with. A social fella like Adonis can't wait to see the world, even if it is just a short drive for a pupcup before a movie day on the couch. Of course he wouldn't turn down an easy stroll in the neighborhood or a walk in the woods, so don't worry - he will be your companion for life!

1) Adonis is an easy-going fella who would do well for a first time dog owner.

2) We don't know how Adonis is with cats or other small animals,
so be sure to discuss proper introductions between Adonis and any resident small animals with your adoption counselor.

3) Adonis has been dog friendly here at the shelter!
If you have another dog, be sure to discuss their personality with your adoption counselor and schedule a time for your resident dog and Adonis to meet to make sure they can be great housemates.

4) Adonis would likely do great with children who are gentle with their hands.

Hey! My names Deno and I'm looking for my forever family. I'm 100% cutie patootie but I'm labeled as a blue heeler/lab and I'm between 2-3 years old. I'm pretty dog savvy and would love a puppy play mate, small, big, male or female, I'm not picky! Everyone's a potential friend. I'm a big cuddle bug so I hope you don't want any personal space. I can be playful, and I love to play fetch, but otherwise I'm pretty mellow and just like to follow my people around. While I haven't been face to face with a cat, I'm pretty respectful with the cats here at the shelter. I'm a big swimmer and would love to go on adventures with my person! Could that be you?
Deno is to be neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption.

His adoption fee is $250. Please email ccacadoptions@gmail.com for an application or with any questions.
