"CARLO" one of a kind!

ADOPTED!

Meet Carlo, a handsome boy that is thought to be an Italian Greyhound/Jack Russell Terrier mix.  Whatever his mix it’s a handsome, energetic, fun loving, sensitive and affectionate combo.  Carlo is doing great in his foster home.  He loves other dogs and cats are cool too as long as they stay away from his food bowl (or his owner preferably removes it when he’s done eating).  Carlo loves his food which makes training a snap!  He also loves walks and car rides are awesome!  He can’t help but get excited when we park somewhere because that means he’s about to get and adventure!  Carlo’s ideal home would be active but on the quieter side.  He wouldn’t mind sharing my home with respectful children 8+.  Carlo is house trained, crate trained and already knows his basic obedience.  He came to the shelter at a thin 11lbs.  He’s had a recent dental and is gaining some needed weight and looking and feeling great!  To learn more about this fun boy contact Angela, the foster coordinator @ 503-807-9134

Carlo's has a cute trick.  See his video!

"SOOKIE" adorable puppy!

ADOPTED!

Are you ready for a fun loving 5 month old pup that thrives with lots of exercise and training? You should check me out! Sookie is what they call me and I’m told I’m as smart as a whip but need an experienced owner to keep me on the right track. The shelter will require that my new family and I sign up for puppy classes. I’ll be the class star since I’ve already gotten off on the right paw in my foster home. I already know some basics like my crate training, sit, down and come. I’m getting close on the house training part and with a consistent schedule I’ll have that mastered as well. When I see new things I might bark until I know it’s safe and friendly. I’ll need lots of outings and positive exposure to the big world to assure I grow into a confident young lady. I love children but can be too exuberant in my love so it’s requested they be 6+. I’m living with other dogs and think they are grand. I also think the kitty is fun so if your kitty doesn’t think dogs equal fun I may not be the best fit. What do you say, ready for tons of puppy play, kisses and cuddles wrapped up in an adorable package? To learn more please contact Angela, the foster coordinator @ 503-807-9134

I'm quite the stunning young model!

feeling a little sad without my forever home

"PEPPER, JOAN & LITA" 3 adorable Pitbull puppies

Me and my sisters have gotten off to a great start in our foster homes. We’ve gotten to see and do lots of things that will help us grown into sweet, social and confident adults. When we move to our new homes it will be up to them to continue with our training and socializing. We really want to grow up to be what they call breed ambassadors. The shelter will ask that we’re signed up for puppy classes to assure we continue our education path. The good news is we’re already doing great with our house/crate training and even know sit, down and a few other tricks. We’ve grown up meeting dogs and cats (Pepper) and of course lots of people. Puppies are a ton or work but so worth it! To learn more about these cuties and their distinct personalities contact Angela, the foster coordinator @ 503-807-9134.

"FRANZ" a happy Doxie

ADOPTED!

I am here to make you smile! I am a cheerful and outgoing dog looking for a home of my own. Like many of my breed type, I am active and sometimes not a good match for a home with cats.

I have been friendly and social with all the people I have met here and I am an overall good natured and healthy guy. Reward based classes are always a fun idea and would give us both something new to learn.
I am about 2 years of age and I weigh a stout 16lbs. Ask about me today!

"CAMERON" I'm soft like a pup!

TRANSFERRED to Family Dogs New Life Shelter!

I have soft loose skin and fur, like a young pup, even though I might be about 2 years old....  I'm a really nice boy, and I need some love and gentle guidance, and stability.  I'm a mix of breeds (unknown) and it looks like I have Cattle Dog? or maybe Aussie in the mix?  ( red mearle and one blue eye, one amber colored)  and my ears look more like Pit bull terrier.  My tail is from ...who knows? :)

I have a soft personality, lots of energy and smarts, and you'll love me!

"INGRID " lovely senior Dachshund

ADOPTED!!!

They call me Ingrid and I’m a super senior girl. When I first came to the shelter I was in really poor condition and it was assumed I was in my final life stages. I was placed in a hospice foster home for my final days/weeks. Well nothing like some good love and TLC and getting rid of some rotten teeth to give an old gal the will to live. I’m now thriving and love my food, a slow walk around the block and lots of cuddle time. We senior sorts need frequent opportunities to potty outside and prefer a quite, adult home. I know most people want to adopt those youngsters but I’m hopeful there is someone out there willing to give me the retirement home I deserve. I may not have years to offer but I’m certain I’ll provide you with wonderful companionship if you cherish me as I deserve. The other cool thing about adopting me is this will allow my foster home to take on another dog in need. To learn more about Ingrid contact Angela, the foster coordinator @ 503-807-9134

"LARS"nice Doxie boy!

ADOPTED!

Hello my shelter name is Lars, pleased to meet you. My friends here at the shelter assure me I will find my forever home very soon but it is hard to be patient. To help you make a decision for me I suggest doing a little research about my breed. Lets just be frank and tell you we are not known to be good with young children. Or small creatures for that matter, we were bred for hunting after all. We follow our noses and that has gotten us into trouble in the past .

Our fine points are our loyalty and affectionate ways. We adore sleeping on the bed with you and even cuddling under the covers! Once you are ours we will stand by you forever. So…. If you are ready to take me into your family knowing all that is common with Dachshunds please ask about me. I am a red male Dachshund purebred around 6 years old and weigh about 12 lbs.

Lars would love a home where he gets daily walks, play toys,  and good care!
Here the weblink for Lars http://www2.co.multnomah.or.us/AnimalWeb/ADODetail.aspx?id=482759

"OSCAR" & "PRINCESS BAMBI" Doxie friends

ADOPTED!

You must be just as confused as we are about how two adorable little dappled mini Doxies ended up in a shelter. As it turns out, our first owner passed away, so we went to live with our late owner's relative, but a year later he died too. So here we are, with nowhere to stay. We are very committed to each other, we like to snuggle on laps, and it's way more snugglerific if we have a nice blanket over the top of us. We like other dogs, as long as they don't try to smash us or play too rowdy, we're little! We are typical of our breed, we like to offer our family a running commentary of the happenings of the house, we will alert you of any strangers, dangers, or monsters that may be lurking outside the house. But our best quality is our love for each other, and our current foster mom who reports that we are lovely little dogs with a little brushing up to do on our basics. We are older dogs, around 6 years old. Want to meet us? Of course you do! Call Nancy, the foster coordinator at 503-320-4047. Please note that we have had enough loss in our lives, therefore we must be adopted together.
