Ready to meet your new sidekick? My name is Robin, and I'm a stunningly handsome male husky searching for a patient and loving home to call my own. With my striking coat and soulful eyes, I'm a true head-turner, but my real beauty lies in my incredibly loyal heart. I'll be honest: I can be a bit of a wallflower at first. New situations and people make me feel anxious, and it takes me a little time to build trust. But behind my initial shyness is a classic husky personality waiting to bloom! I would thrive with an adopter who has experience with huskies, you'll understand my need for both physical exercise and mental stimulation, and you won't be surprised by my "chatty" husky conversations! If you have the patience and the experience to understand my husky heart, you'll be rewarded with an unwavering and devoted best friend for life.

This sweet, handsome boy is Dawson! At around two years old and with a big smile, he's ready to find his forever family. As a large mixed-breed dog, he has plenty of love to give and is always excited to see new friends. Dawson came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his past, but we do know he's a very happy-go-lucky guy who loves a good chin scratch. He enjoys spending time in the yard, sniffing all the interesting smells, and taking treats gently from your hand. 😍 He has a charming, friendly personality and we think he would fit in well with many different households. If you're looking for a best friend to make you laugh and shower you with affection, come meet Dawson today! ❤️🐶

MCAS needs to spay/neuter all dogs before adoption, especially the females and purebred dogs!  Management is failing the dogs and the community by adopting out intact female dogs. They have had years to resolve this issue.

"CELESTE" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

#367853 listed as Belgian Malinois female, 1 yr 1 mths 39 lbs

Meet Celeste! This high-energy girl loves to run, play, and jump, and she comes from a home with school aged children. Celeste is smart, fearless, and loves hard, forming strong bonds with her family. She enjoys having stuffed animals to suckle on and chew. After a few initial barks and some "love nips," she warms up quickly to new people. Due to her intelligent and territorial nature, an experienced home is preferred for Celest. She is not great on car rides and may bark at passersby, people, or bikers. Celeste can be a bit of a "menace" if left unsupervised. Her last owner recommends a steel cage kennel when unattended as she is able to break out of a regular wire kennel. She also likes a blanket and a stuffed animal to keep her comfortable in her kennel.

"MAXX" Australian SHEPHERD "PROJECT POOCH

Project POOCH, quite simply, changes lives. We operate a kennel inside a youth correctional facility and pair currently incarcerated youth with shelter dogs. The youth learn kennel management, positive reinforcement, grooming, and training techniques. The youth learn what it means to be depended on by another living creature and what it means to be trusted and relied upon. And, they learn what unconditional love feels like—sometimes for the first time. Our dogs get trained, loved, and adopted into their forever homes. There is no limit to the amount of time a dog spends in our care, and we are focused on the individual needs of each dog."

MAXX neutered male,(overweight 45 lbs) 5 yr mini-AUSSIE, good with cats, gets along with many dogs, loves people

I’m at Project POOCH because the circumstances of my family changed. I’m a very good boy and I’m looking to get back into a home as soon as possible. I’m very smart and have learned a few of my basic cues already including sit and down. I walk well on a loose leash and am very neutral to cats so I would do fine in a home with cats. I lived in a home with kids and do well with them. As I am a herding breed, it might be better for me to be in a house with kids who are over the age of 8, but it really depends on the demeanor of the child.

I LOVE to chase balls and if you are willing to throw one for me we would be best friends immediately! I like to hang out with people and love a good snuggle. I enjoy pools and playing in water (something to keep in mind for next summer!).

I will need regular grooming as I have the type of coat that needs brushing or else I will get matted. You can learn to brush me at home and keep the professional grooming to every 3–4 months, or take me to a professional groomer every 6–8 weeks to keep my coat in tip-top shape.

I promise that I will be the best boy and your best friend forever!

BEAUREGARD (BEAU)neutered male , Appx. 4-year-old Terrier Mix, 12 lbs

Beauregard has come a long way here at POOCH! When we first met him at the shelter, he was very shut down and nervous. Since coming to the kennel, he has grown into a social butterfly with the help of the youth and his friend Izzy.

The youth enjoy working with Beau because he is very food-motivated and smart. He is quick to pick up tricks and loves to show them off. He is also learning life skills pretty well, like loose leash walking, waiting at doorways, and your basic cues like sit.

Beau takes just a moment to get used to new people still, but is getting more social the longer he is here. He is easily won over by pets or cheese if he's particularly nervous. With his friends he takes no time at all to request attention. He is quick to join the youth anytime they sit on the couch, and is a tiny little shadow when out and about in communal areas.

He would do well in a household with another dog, as he is interested in finding a buddy to play with. He has spent some time with larger dogs, but is not confident that they won't step on him. A well-matched buddy would be ideal.

If you're looking for a little companion to brighten up your life, he might be your guy! Beau is a little guy with the capacity for large dog love. He also feels like a bigger dog than he is, with his long legs giving him a bit of height.
