"CAMILLA" IN FOSTER MCAS Poodle - "BEFORE and AFTER!" requires regular (professional) grooming

UPDATE 9/14/24 ADOPTED or on hold

Don't adopt a "NOn-shedder" unless you can handle the cost of routine Professional Grooming, or are skilled in grooming and can provide this at home.  Take a look at Camilla's "before photo" (2nd one down) when she first came into the shelter. Sadly it is not that unusual to grossly overgrown, neglected and matted "non shedders"  who come into the shelter

I'm excited to introduce myself! I'm a sweet girl who is making fantastic strides in my journey to find my forever home. I absolutely love lounging around and soaking up the comforts of home, but I can be a little anxious when I'm outside of my house or yard, especially around new people. Even though I have some fears, I've come a long way, and I'm improving every day! I walk wonderfully on a leash and love hanging out with other dogs, which makes me a great companion for outings. I've even been to a few small backyard parties! While I might be hesitant when people approach me, I calm down quickly once I feel safe. I do struggle a bit with being left alone, and sometimes that makes me a little destructive-I may scratch at doors when I'm anxious. But I want you to know that I've never had an accident outside of my yard; I just need a little time to adjust and feel comfortable. I would thrive in a patient and understanding home where I can feel secure and continue to work on my confidence. If you're looking for a gentle soul who needs a bit of extra love and support, I might just be the perfect addition to your family! Can you help me bloom?

note - "Camilla"had to get an extreme clip just to get all the matting off of her - not pretty, but she is obviously feeling better without that horribly overgrown coat

Camilla when she first came into the shelter. She is a young dog this is how the poor dog existed
