"Huskies" Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location
presenting, MCAS Singing Huskies!
(accompanied by the little birds)
These
local shelter Huskies need good committed adopters who will give
attention and
exercise. Huskies are NOT all "escape artists" or need way more than
normal daily exercise! They differ in their needs, just like other
breeds do. But they are a committment!
They are beautiful, fun dogs!
Seriously, people need to stop breeding Huskies. There huge numbers of homeless Huskies/Alaskan Huskies in the USA shelters, and nice dogs are being killed DAILY in animal shelters due to overcrowding.
The local area shelters are fortunately not having to euthanize Huskies for overcrowding

So many nice homeless Huskies in the Multnomah County Animal Shelter!
SHADOW
UPDATE Feb 8 possible adopter or on hold
Gentle and affectionate male senior - 9 yrs, 68 lbs
Shadow is a "tripod" (missing a back leg) and would appreciate a home with few stairs and a home where he can lose some weight - will make it easier for him to get around
https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/281608
Hi! I am the sweetest boy with a smiley face. I may only have three
legs, but I get around just fine with some effort. I would like a comfy
home with people who will take me on short walks and feed me tasty
treats. I am gentle, affectionate, and really appreciate treats and
pets. Thank you for coming to see me, maybe I can be your next buddy?
GEORGIANA
UPDATE Feb 11, 2023 possible adopter or on hold
1 yr 6mths female, loves treats, would love a committed home to show her life is good,
Georgiana came in with BINGLEY, #281444
https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/281445
Georgianna is a sweet, somewhat independent dog who wants to explore the
outdoors. The perfect adopter home will include a well-fenced yard and
frequent trips to the outdoors. She is anxious with new places, sounds
and people- but given patience and treats- she will soon approach you
for treats and chin scratches. She is not the kind of dog who is
overtly affectionate or who wants lots of hugs. She is treat motivated,
which will help with her training. She's not really interested in toys
or fetch (at least not initially). She does some of the typical husky
vocalizations, but doesn't seem especially noisy.

ICE - in foster home, 3 yrs 4 mths,
MIX, super nice guy, very social and pretty easy going, loves being petted, playing fetch
https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/272681
Meet the coolest sidekick in town with a permanent tuxedo, and that's why they call me Ice. (I'll forgive you if you sing "Ice, Ice, baby" to me every day. I don't know why people do that but I'm used to it.) I'd love a home with active people who want to interact with me a lot because I have a lot of energy, a lot of love to give and an active mind! I love long walks (use a harness with a loop on my chest and I won't pull), treat puzzles, toys (OMIGOD who invented balls?? Genius!), riding in cars and watching wildlife out the window. If you hide my toys I will still know where they are because I like to investigate everything with my nose and I'm pretty smart. You can't tell from a photo but I'm also really soft and love to be petted. Since I chase small animals I might also chase cats, and I am dog selective at the very least, so dog parks are probably not in my future but I hope YOU are.

"MISTY"
UPDATE Feb 10, 2023 possible adopter or on hold
too many adopters have already let Misty down.
Please commit to this beautiful active young dog
https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/278447
Misty is tall, gorgeous, and fun-loving! She's looking for a family that
can keep up with her enthusiasm. After her daily dose of playtime and
zoomies, Misty's affectionate side comes out. She loves a good cuddle
and rub-down! Misty would likely thrive with a playmate. She really
enjoys interacting with other dogs through her kennel. Having a friend
could be a great outlet for her energy!
YMIR aka LOKI
UPDATE Feb 8, 2023 possible adopter or on hold
3 yr 6 mth male 73lbs
really nice guy
https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/281100
Ymir (aka Loki) is a 3 1/2 year old neutered male husky looking for a
new home. He is dog social and cat friendly. "Loki" has a combination
playing style. He plays gently but depending on who is playing with
him, he can play somewhat rough. He "matches the energy" of who he is
playing with. He also loves "kisses." "Loki" knows basic commands such
as sit and lay, and is gentle when taking treats. Ymir (aka Loki) can be
possessive when it comes to food so he might do best in a home without
children age 7 years and under. Come to the shelter and meet him today!

If you can keep up with me then I promise that we will have a life full of enjoyment with lots of great stories! I can be sensitive about how I am touched and handled, after all I am a husky. CHINOOK
Update 2/7 possible adopter or on hold
3 yrs old male, active, husky-speak , adorable guy
https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/281540
I'm Chinook, a three year old Siberian Husky looking for a new home. Not
much is known about my past because I came here as a stray. My
favorite hobby is exploring! I am a curious, smart dog and I love to
learn new things about the world around me. I would love to have a job
to do or learn some new tricks to give my mind something to work on. I
do not shy away from novel situations and if you can keep me mentally
and physically stimulated, I will be your loving friend forever. I'm an
independent husky who wants to roam and I don't really want to hold
still for pets, scratches, or hugs. I'm also fairly vocal, with the
typical Husky vocalizations. I love to jump on surfaces like benches,
which should be fun when hiking but I would probably expect to live on
your bed or couch!
==================
TOASTY, 1 yr old female, very soft fur, great hiking buddy
initially jumpy/ mouthy in excitement, affectionate
https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/281562
Toasty is a sweet, good natured and somewhat independent dog who wants
to roam. She loves exploring the woods and would make a great hiking
companion. She is okay with affection, but is not really an
affectionate dog (at least in the shelter), so would be a good fit with
someone who doesn't need or want a dog who is clingy or likes a lot of
close contact. She should also be in a home with a fenced yard, given
her propensity to explore.
