Oh, hi! I'm Birdie, a great big Dane of a puppy. Life didn't start out awesome for me and I am still a little uncertain of new stuff. I've been living in a foster home for the past few months and am feeling much more confident. It turns out I like trying new things, as long as I have a patient person to reassure me.
I may already be 100 pounds but I got a lot of puppy left in me. I LOVE to play and sometimes my legs get moving faster than my brain and I crash into things. Because of my rather exuberant playstyle, I should live with sturdy kids 8 years old and up. I really do enjoy the company of kids, but the little ones tend to fall down a lot when I am around.
I would really like to have a dog friend to live with or at least regular visits for play dates. Socializing with friendly, confident dogs has helped me overcome my shyness with people. I really like dogs of all sizes and even enjoy the company of cows, goats and chickens but I am very interested in little animals that run and may not be good in a home with nervous kitties.
I can't wait to show you how good I am with my commands and crate training! I know "SIT" "WAIT" and then "OK" means I get to run around and celebrate. My leash walking is coming along and I have excellent recall. One firm "COME" from my person and I am on my way! Honestly, I am a pretty good dog. I have a sweet and loyal personality and only sometimes get it wrong about which ones are my toys and which ones are your shoes - it's just so darn confusing!
I am looking for a family that doesn't take life too seriously and will give me an outlet for my puppy energy while continuing to build my confidence through reward based training. In exchange, I will give you unwavering loyalty and entertain you with my silly antics! My ears are soft like velvet and my sweet smile will brighten any day.
