"PRANCER" *Foster home* *Unique-Chocolate) Brindle PITBULL "OHS-PORTLAND"

 UPDATE 7/6/26 ADOPTED!

"PRANCERAVAILABLE FOR Adoption at Oregon Humane Society  in PORTLAND

PRANCER Available 7/2/2025   #342165 $50 spayed female

"Looks like" American Pit Bull spayed female 10 mths 58 lbs

*Foster Home

What my friends at OHS say about me:

  • I can be shy at first, but I warm up quickly and will want to play once I get comfortable!
  • When I get excited, I can get the zoomies and sometimes can be a bit rowdy... It's something I'm working on, but I may do best in a home without younger children or people that may easily be knocked over.
  • I'm smart and love to learn! I'm hoping that whoever takes me home will continue working with me so I can grow to become the amazing companion dog I'm destined to be.
  • I love to be around people! I'd make a great buddy for curling up on the couch to watch a movie.
  • Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
  • High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.

The type of home I'm looking for:

  • I love other dogs but if your resident dog does not like to wrestle and box then we probably aren't the best match.
  • I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.
  • Interested in adopting me?

Animals available for adoption in foster homes need a special questionnaire submitted. From there, we will make an initial appointment for a phone consult to discuss their needs, and then schedule a meet and greet. Appointments are set on a first-come first-served basis in the order that we receive the questionnaires.

"ELLIE" UPDATE foster found!!***PErMANENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED***senior CHOCOLATE LAB "OLD DOGHAVEN"

UPDATE 7/6/26 PERMenANT FOSTER HOME FOUND!!

PERMANENT PERMANENT FOSTER HOMENEEDED: for "OLD DOG HAVEN"(note: all medical expenses paid by rescue)

ELLIE:  spayed female 11 yrs 83 lbs(Overweight)  Chocolate Lab

"It's the unfortunate time of the year when the shelters fill up due to lost dogs being taken to the shelter. It is good when a dog is found, especially after the trauma they experience because of fireworks. It is far better for a dog to be at a shelter than on the run, scared! Dogs are safe and kept until hopefully their owner claims them. Sadly, many of these dogs never go home again because their owners never claim them. They go through a legal stray hold, and then they are put up for adoption at the shelter. Some senior dogs are deemed "unadoptable" due to age and/or medical issues that would make adoption unlikely. This is when the local shelters reach out to Old Dog Haven.

While this girl was in the shelter before the 4th of July holiday, if we can pull her into our rescue, it will make room for another dog at the shelter. There is only so much room! If you'd like to help Ellie and in doing so, perhaps help another dog in need of her space at the shelter, reach out to us to apply to become her forever foster.

PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME NEEDED:
(located in W. Washington state or Portland OR only)

"Ellie" is a spayed senior chocolate labrador retriever.   She is currently quite overweight at 83 pounds. This is a very sweet, kind,
gentle girl; the shelter volunteers call her a "chubby little muffin".
Helping Ellie shed those extra pounds will be a game changer for her!

She has congenitally malformed front legs that are
likely to cause arthritis and affect her comfortable mobility now (the
obesity doesn't help!). She has a recessed vulva that can lead to
frequent UTIs and will need daily cleaning, and she's had a history of
skin issues from fleas and probably allergies.

The shelter reports that she is bright, friendly, and eager to spend time withpeople. She has lovely leash manners for strolls, too. She's lived
with dogs and cats, is housebroken,
can be playful, and warms up well
after initial nervousness when meeting stranger people. We would love
to find her an Old Dog Haven home that can get her to a healthy weight, work onher skin issues and welcome her with love.

All vet bills are paid by Old Dog Haven! You don't have that worry when you become an Old Dog Haven foster. You also don't have to adopt out the dog you have fallen in love with. They stay with you forever. If this sounds like something you would like to do, please read through the information below and email our applications manager. "

"BABY" **TINY** senior YORKIE...YORKSHIRE TERRIER "SENIOR DOG RESCUE of OREGON "

UPDATE 7/6/26 ADOPTED or on hold

"BABY"  AVAILABLE for adoption SENIOR DOG RESCUE of OREGON

BABY  Terrier, Yorkshire, Yorkie  spayed female,
5 lbs 12 yrs  $200

*Good with Cats
*Good with Dogs
*Good with Kids
*Needs assistance climbing stairs and/or getting in/out of vehicles

Hi there. My name is Baby, and even though I'm 12 years old, I only weigh about 5 pounds. That means I'm the perfect size to curl up beside you, ride along on adventures, or keep your lap nice and warm.

For my whole life, I had one special person. She loved me very much, and I loved her right back. Sadly, she recently had to move into a care home, and I couldn't go with her. For the past few months, I've been staying alone in the house we shared, with kind people stopping by each day to feed me and make sure I'm okay. It's been confusing, and I miss having my person nearby. I may need a little time to trust again, but I promise my heart is still full of love to give.

I'm a gentle, quiet little Yorkie who enjoys the simple things in life. I love going for walks, carrying around my favorite toys, snuggling with my blankie, and soaking up all the scratches and cuddles you'll give me. I've lived happily with dogs, cats, and children, so I'm used to being part of a family. I adapt well wherever I'm loved.

Because I'm such a tiny girl, I appreciate a little boost when it comes to climbing stairs or getting into the car. I also think every car ride would be better if I could sit in the driver's lap—but don't worry, I ride safely in a crate when needed.

I'm healthy, though I do have a flea allergy, so keeping me on flea prevention is important. Other than that, I'm ready to spend my golden years being someone's cherished companion.

If you're looking for a sweet little shadow who will quietly follow you, snuggle beside you on the couch, and remind you every day that love comes in tiny packages, I think we should meet. I don't need much—just a soft place to rest, a few gentle scratches, and someone who will promise that this time, we'll be together forever.

"JESSIE" 7 yr MINI POODLE MIX "SENIOR DOG RESCUE of OREGON "

UPDATE 7/5/26 ADOPTED or on hold

"JESSIE"  AVAILABLE for adoption SENIOR DOG RESCUE of OREGON

JESSIE  Poodle, Miniature / Unknown   spayed female,
7 yrs 6 mths 30 lbs  $200
*housetrained *crate trained  *not good with cats

Hi there! My name is Jess, and I'm a 7-year-old Miniature Poodle mix weighing in at about 30 pounds of fluffy companionship.

If you're looking for a loyal sidekick who wants to be part of your daily routine, I might be your girl. I love going for walks, riding in the car, playing with my toys, and curling up next to my favorite people on the couch. I'm affectionate, playful, and definitely food motivated—treats are one of my favorite things!

I have great house manners. I'm housetrained, crate trained, leash trained, and I walk nicely on a loose leash. I know commands like "sit," "speak," and "go to bed." In fact, every evening around 8 o'clock, I put myself to bed in my crate like clockwork. I also like to remind my family that it's time for my after-dinner potty break as soon as everyone finishes eating.

I've lived with teenagers and would love a family with a similar lifestyle—people who enjoy spending time together, playing with me, and including me in their day. I don't need constant attention, but I do want to be part of the family.

There are a few things you should know about me. I'm protective of my toys, my crate, and sometimes my treats, so I'll do best with a family that understands my boundaries and can help me continue being successful. I can be nervous around other dogs, and while I'm friendly with cats, I can't always resist chasing one if it decides to run.

I'm healthy, active, and can easily handle stairs on my own. My family loves me very much, but they're moving out of state and aren't able to take me with them. They're hoping to find me another loving home where I can continue being the devoted companion I've always been.

If you're looking for a sweet, loyal friend who will happily join you for walks, keep you company on the couch, and tuck herself into bed every night, I would love to meet you.
