Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

Hello, my name is Pete! Are you looking for one of those sweet mature dogs that need a place to retire? Well look no further! I am a handsome gentleman that is ready for the life of luxury! I have been social with people, know some tricks, and really like my food! My family will need to be financially ready to have my teeth cleaned, provide me with pain medication for some stiff joints when necessary, and possibly any ear infections that flare up. My slobbery kisses and sweet personality will more than make up for it. Please consider me! I am around 10 years old and weigh 69 pounds

"BRADY" good natured Lab

ADOPTED!
Oct  10, 2015
Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my weblink

Hey everybody! My name is Brady and I'm looking for a family that likes to be outdoors. Although I am a middle aged man, I am still very active and love to do many activities. The shelter has found out that I enjoy playing with tennis balls and frisbees, so the park could be a fun place to hang out. I came to the shelter as an injured stray after someone found me limping along the road. Although no serious injuries were found, I still need to take it easy. They also found that I have some pretty severe ear infections that are now being treated. In time they should heal up just fine, but I will have to be on some medications for a bit. I guess it's a pretty typical thing for labs to get. I can be a tad shy when I first meet people, but once I'm comfortable, I become a sweet ole' lug. Please come and meet me today! I am about 9 years old and weigh 76 pounds.

"PUNKY P" love walks and cuddling - cute pitbull

ADOPTED!!!
Oct 10, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

I'm currently in a quieter area of the shelter. Won't you Please ask to meet me?
Hi! I’m Punky P, lover of life and a big Princess. Are you interested in hearing my story? Well I'm sad to tell you that this isn't the first time I've been searching for a family. In fact this will be the third! Volunteers tell me I’m pretty smart and learn very quickly. I sit, shake, and lay down. I am discovering new toys and love to chew on bones – who knew they are so good! Overall my favorite things are leisurely walks, making friends, and above all, cuddling. My new family should have no children under 16, and understand how to motivate dogs without using physical manipulation such as pushing my butt to sit down or grabbing my collar. I've had quite a few bad experiences with this type of handling so a creative adopter who can build new positive experiences is essential. I would love to meet you if you’re up for a loyal, loving, and all around quirky new companion!

this was a photo of Punky P (her name was Punky Poo) back in Mar 2010
hope she finds a good home this time who keeps her to old age

thanks (temporary) foster home for the cute pics of Punky!

"JESSIE" UPDATE good natured senior Lab mix

ADOPTED!!!
Oct 10, 2015
Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
Jessie is in an MCAS FOSTER Home!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hello, everyone! I'm Jessie, an incredibly sweet Labrador Retriever who is ready to fill your home with quiet love and appreciation. I'm an older model, so time to rest my hips is always appreciated. But I am still a goofy lab, and fetching a ball a few times brings me back to my days of youth and fills me with such joy. I do have some allergies, so I need a top notch diet and regular flea control. I have been enjoying the perks of foster care, and I have proven to be a wonderful and loving companion. Would you like to share in my golden years? I'm looking for a home where children, if any, are 12 & up and respectful of my age. I am about 10 years old, and I weigh 70 lbs. If you are interested in me, contact Alix, the Foster Coordinator, at alix.womack@multco.us or 503-988-6247 to set up a time to meet me. I promise you'll fall in love with me completely!

I LOVE Rolling in the grass!

My foster mom has brushed out the old coat and
I get good food now and my coat is shiny!

my hair was very sunbleached and not brushed out when I came into the shelter
(no worries, the MCAS shelter was definitely a step in the right direction! on my life path)

"FREDRICK" cute little terrier type

ADOPTED!
Oct 8, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my weblink

Hi there! My name is Frederick and I'm looking for a quiet home where I can relax. When I came to the shelter I was very scared and it took me some time to trust new people. Turns out that food is my main motivation, so if you have some, let's start bonding. I am a very active little guy that enjoys going for walks and being with my people. I'm not fond of being left alone yet, so I may not be the best match for apartment living. The shelter is recommending that we attend reward based classes together to help me build my confidence and learn to trust strangers. Children in the home should be over the age of 8 years old as well. Sometimes those little ones move a little too fast for my comfort. I am a sweet boy that has a lot of love to give for someone patient. I hope you come and meet me today! I am about 3 years old and weigh 7.5 pounds.

"STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE" you can call me Shorty!

Oct 5, 2015
Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my weblink

Hi there! My name is Strawberry Shortcake, but you can call me Shorty! I am in search of a new, loving family. As you can see I haven't had the best of care, but I promise that my hair will grow back with quality, monthly flea control and a good diet. I am a sensitive lady that's looking for an active yet relaxing home. I can nervous with over handling, so my new home should have children over the age of 10 years. Being here has been a little stressful and I'm having a hard time showing everybody my true colors, but I do enjoy going for walks and getting treats! Though I am small, I am mighty as well and the shelter is HIGHLY recommending that we attend reward based classes together to help get us started off on the right paw. I am asking that you have no small animals, cats, or dogs smaller than I as I have shown too much interest in them. I may do fine with a respectful male dog that is my size or larger, but we'll have to meet first. If all of this sounds like a wonderful match, then please come and meet me today! I am about 2 years old and weigh 36 pounds.

I wonder what's happening?

"DAVEY" chi boy looking to bond with a new friend

ADOPTED!
Oct 7, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my weblink ( adoption pending 10/7)

Hi there! My name is Davey and I'm looking for a home to call my own. I ended up here at the shelter as a stray, so not much is known about my personality. I can tell you that I can be a little shy in new situations and need a family that can show me that I don't have to be scared. Once I trust you, I should form a good bond, like most Chihuahuas do. My new home should have children over the age of 8 years old and I may do well in a home with another social canine friend. Please come down and meet me today! I am about 2 1/2 years old and weigh 11.5 pounds.

"BENNY" active, goofy smart big (GSD/ lab/ hound?) mix

ADOPTED!
Oct 6, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my weblink ( pending adoption Oct 6)

Hello, my name is Benny! Are you looking for an active, goofy, and smart dog to adopt? Well I might be the perfect companion for you! My shelter friends can't tell you what my background is but they have noticed I am ready for a new adventure! My adopters should be active, have no children under 16, be patient and have used positive methods to train dogs before. I am anxious in the shelter environment and by exhibiting stress I have been jumping up on people. The good news is that I already know some good tricks like sit, down, shake, and roll over! The other thing I need to share with you all is that I get really scared when someone is about to take away my food so a family who can teach me there is nothing to be afraid of will be important for my future. Please consider me! I am around 2 years old and weigh 66 pounds

"WILLOW" Cattle Dog puppy

ADOPTED!
Oct 2015
Willow is available for Adoption with Indigo Rescue!

here is Willow's petfinder description:

Meet Willow!

Willow is all go, no slow! She likes to stay busy and moving, as a good cattle dog should. She loves to be involved in whatever is going on and is very curious and confident! She LOVES people and kids, we are still working on her manners when it comes to meeting people and kids because exuberance takes over and little kids don't appreciate unsolicited face kisses! She is incredibly smart and quick to learn. She waits at doors, she sits, lays down, and comes when called. She's learning leave it and drop it. She's also learning the really important stuff like fetch and tug-o-war! She walks great on a leash. Willow is approximately four months old as of the first week of September.

Willow has poor social skills with other dogs. She is not good at introductions and tries to intimidate new dogs right off the bat, once she gets past that, she does try to play, but even her playing skills are a little on the pushy side and it will take a good natured teacher dog to help her learn. She has been working on a farm with horses, ducks, chickens, and pigs and is getting used to them all. She would be a perfect farm dog/working companion for the right person. We do not want her to be an outside dog!

if interested in Willow, please go to the petfinder site, and fill out the on line prescreening questionnaire.
Indigo Rescue is a local Rescue Group who takes dogs from local shelters as needed, puts them into foster homes to provide a safe and structured environment, gives provides as needed, additional medical care and or/training and strives to find them the best adoption match.

"TENNESSEE" brown eyed pretty Pitmix loves toys

ADOPTED!
Oct 7, 2015

Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my weblink

Hi there! My name is Tennessee! I am 2 years old and weigh 58 lbs. I am a very fun and active girl who's looking for a new family to grow up with and become all that I can be! I love toys, and will play fetch and tug until I can't run anymore. I will even play with toys by myself-that's how fun they are to me. Cats are way too fun to chase, so I would like a home without the little ones, but with a proper introduction, a canine buddy may be just fine. I need a home that will be able to help me build confidence, and use positive reinforcement training since I can be a bit timid with too much handling, and I don't have much control of my commands just yet. If you are looking for a loving, active girl to share adventures with, think of me

New environments (especially new floors!) can be a bit scary at first, but with your help, I will see that it is not so scary after all! Did you know....that white bunnies are one of the most sociable and definitely the most intelligent types of pet rabbits, yet often take the longest to find a good home?
Henry loves attention! Please visit Henry, he'd love to meet you! Henry was at MCAS for 3 months  before transferring to OHS, and Henry was quite the shelter hall mascot.

Here's Henry new OHS weblink
Here is his OHS description:

Henry is one fun bun! He is a gentle boy who will benefit from a home that will give him lots of love, attention and time outside of his enclosure for exercise and just plain ol’ hopping around. Henry is a young bun who needs a human partner that can help him build his confidence–especially when having his nails trimmed or being picked up. Henry seems to enjoy sitting on your lap for petting for brief periods then it’s hoppin’ time! Henry is a wonderful choice for an indoor-only companion rabbit. All he needs is a companion! Could it be you?

here's my Mcas weblink

Henry is a one year old New Zealand mix. He is white with pink eyes and has one ear tip missing, giving him real character. Henry will be neutered and microchipped before heading home with you. ADOPTED!!!
Oct 2, 2015

Available for adoption with Oregon Humane Society!

here's my Ohs weblink

I have a video! I’m Cleo, and quite a sweetheart. I’m looking for a low-traffic home where I can hang out with you while you watch TV, read, or if you work from home that would be the absolute best! I’m pretty well-mannered and know sit, down, wait, stay and my previous owner said I ride nicely in the car. I can be a little shy at first, so be sure to give me time and space to get comfortable in my new surroundings. If you’re missing a pretty girl like me around the house, then maybe it’s time for a visit! A training consultation is included prior to my adoption. I came to OHS through the Second Chance Program from Clackamas County Dog Services.
