I'm a blank slate waiting for an adopter to take me home and teach me the basics of being a good pet. I like my food so reward based training should be a snap for me.

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm a very sweet and sensitive young lady. I enjoy going for walks, playing with toys, and cuddling with my people. Unfortunately I do have an allergy to either food or something in the environment, so please talk with your adoption counselor about the management of my allergies. Otherwise, I am a darling young lady that's looking for some love and protection. Mt new home should not have any cats, small dogs, or small critters. My best match would be a same size or larger, respectful male dog. I am about 2 years old and weigh 42 pounds.

oh no, do I have to do this?

"GOMER" a Very BIG awesome chubby shepherd/hound mix

"TRANSFERRED" to Oregon Humane Society!
July 10, 2015
please visit Gomer! He's a cool BIG dog!

Gomer If this fella drew your attention, it’s only natural. This is Gomer. He is an active boy searching for an active home. Gomer can be shy at first, and takes some time to adjust in new environments. Once he settles in his new home, it will be essential for his new companion to keep Gomer mentally and physically stimulated. His enthusiasm and excitement for life is endearing but will need to be channeled into rigorous activities. If you are looking for a running, hiking, or any outdoor activity companion than we highly recommend Gomer here. Gomer will do best in a home with adults or older, mature dog savvy children. He will need continued basic training and socialization to keep him the best canine he can be. If you are looking for a dog that is always willing to take on that next adventure at a full sprint than Gomer may be partner you have been looking for. Gomer came to OHS through the Second Chance Program from Multnomah Co. Animal Services.
4 yrs old, 114 lbs,

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hello there! My name is Gomer and I'm looking for a new home. I am a sweet, but very sensitive boy that needs a quiet, yet active family. I'm quite laid back, but really enjoy going for walks. As you can see I'm in a little need of a diet and exercise plan, so walks should be lots of fun! The nice people that found me said I like to play tug and I ride well in the car. I am also independent and will need a home with kids over the age of 12 years, due to my sensitivities. Please come down and meet your soulmate today! I am about 4 years old and weigh a hefty 127 pounds.

"SEEKER" I know sit, shake and (lay)down - German Shepherd

ADOPTED!
July 12, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

If you are interested in meeting me, please email animal.care@multco.us, to set up an appointment.
Hey there! My name is Seeker because I'm looking for the perfect home. I'm a handsome 3 year old German Shepherd weighing in at about 67lbs. I like to greet people with a toy in my mouth, and am ready to play. Sometimes I get mouthy when playing so the shelter recommends kids 8 & up. I'm a friendly, sensitive kind of guy who needs a good brushing and a bath to look my very best. My new adopter must have breed experience. I can be reactive to other dogs, but could possibly live with another dog if slow and proper introductions were upheld. My best match would be a same size respectful dog. There should be no cats or small animals in my new home though. I do know how to sit, shake, and down and will make a great companion with some more training. The shelter is recommending that my training be continued with reward based methods. I am an active boy that will require plenty of exercise to keep me mentally and physically stable. I would probably make a good agility or nosework dog too! If you are interested in meeting me, please email animal.care@multco.us, to set up an appointment.

=======

If this dog is appropriate for a home with children, you must bring children aged 12 and under to the shelter with you for the adoption process. Not all dogs and children are a perfect match, so we want to make sure that the dog you select is a family-friendly dog.If you have one or more existing dogs in your home, we require a "meet and greet" between your dogs and the adoptive dog at our shelter. Please plan to bring your dog(s) with you before the adoption can be finalized so we can be sure that the dogs and the humans all agree this dog will be the perfect match for your family!

Adoptions are on a first-come first-served basis among approved applicants. We cannot hold pets, so when you are ready to select a pet, please come prepared.

I have a lucky 'wishbone" on my neck. A good home for me will be lucky for us all!

I was a bit of a withering violet at first, because I was shy and was probably an outside dog and didn't get much attention (and you bet, I want an inside home next time and lots of love from you) ....the volunteers at Bonnie Hays, Wash Co Shelter think that I am awesome and love to see me opening up now!.Funny that coming into the shelter was the best thing that could have happened to me in my short life...I am learning lots of stuff, like sit and shake, and I love to roll over and get belly rubs!

(ok - in this pic, I'm just being shy of the camera.....but I LOVE to shake your hand for a treat!)

and I really do love belly loves from my friends

"HARLEY" voted Best head tilt

ADOPTED!
July 14, 2015

I'm very cute, short and a little chubby, with big brown eyes, freckly ears and a big black round spot on my back. I'm a bit of "a scaredy" at times, and this whole scene is kinda tough for me.  But, I'm good with making friends with people  and I look forward to being in a quiet home where I still get out and about to socialize. I think I'll do really well once I'm feeling secure with you.

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

Harley is a white and black female Pitbull mix. She is approximately 4 years old is a about 49lbs. Harley's previous owner had a lot of good things to say about her. A few of those things are that she is housetrained, crate trained, knows some good manners, is cuddly, playful and loves to take walks. They also reported that she is easily startled by noises, and needs a slow introduction to other dogs, and shouldn't have any cats in her new home. The shelter is recommending that if she has children in her new family that they be over the age of 10 because of her sensitive personality. Harley is not settling well in the shelter environment, is shutdown in her kennel and not eating very much. *****She is currently in a different area and is looking for that special someone to ADOPT or FOSTER her. Please come down and meet her!

"CARLITO" I am a cool little guy

ADOPTED!!!
July 11, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
In an MCAS Foster Home!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hi there! My name is Carlito. I was previously named Hewitt, but my foster parents thought I needed a name that better suits my energetic, cute personality. I may be nine years old, but age is just a number. I wake up every morning and do a happy dance. I love walks and hanging out in the yard sunbathing. I also enjoy the company of the dogs and dog savvy cat in my foster home. We get along great! I know basic commands and answer better to my new name than my old one. I do have a noticeable heart murmur that developed sometime in the last three years, but it isn't slowing me down. Taking me to the vet every six months for a senior wellness check will be especially important for me, so you can enjoy me for as long as possible! I just had a dental and only have my molars left, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying high quality kibble. I'm not a big fan of wet food. My favorite thing in the world is a cozy blanket to nuzzle in and you by my side. If you are interested in an all-around great chihuahua boy, Please contact the foster coordinator at alix.womack@multco.us to set up a time to meet me. I can't wait to meeting you!

here's my Mcas weblink  (adoption pending neuter surgery 7/14 or sooner)

Are you looking for a good ole' boy? My name is Granger and though I'm not old, I am a good boy! A city boy I am not. I would love to be a part of any family that has property where I can be a true hound. I enjoy adventures and going for long walks where my nose can just take over. Good fencing is a must with a hound, as we are known to be curious wanderers. If you are looking for a quiet boy, than please pass me by, as I am a great conversationalist. I am truly a great dog that has a very sweet and loving demeanor with good manners. I know how to sit and shake already! I am about years old and weigh pounds. Please come and meet me today!

"MUGGLE" a friendly and lively Puggle

ADOPTED!
July 11, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

I'm Muggle the puggle. I'm about 3 - 4 years old and weight 24lbs. Don't be fooled by my short legs, I've got things to do and places to go, people to see. I'm a great little guy who is friendly, outgoing, loves use my nose. The shelter says I could stand to lose a little weigh so fun activities like nosework or tracking would be great! Even though I don't have the shorter nose of a pug, my owners should exercise caution during hot weather so I don't overheat, and walk me on a harness to protect me throat. To sum me up in one word - Yippee!

Learn more about Sam

also  Dozer (ADOPTED!) another fabulous blue Weimaraner who needs a good home!   for adoption at www.oregonweimrescue.org

Here's some info on SAM:  Big and blue, bright and beautiful!  Samson is quite the handsome 9 year old boy.  Sam is a tall, healthy, and fit 90 pound stunner.  He is as sweet and friendly as they come, crate trained, and ready to spend time showing you what a great family member he can be.
Sam is a very loyal and intelligent Weimaraner.  He is very loving and affectionate.  Samson is great with kids and other dogs.  He is even friendly with the backyard chickens.   His family has loved him dearly but challenges in life have made it apparent that Sam isn’t getting the human time he deserves.  Sam is very friendly with people, from strangers to babies.  He has a gentle mouth and takes treats respectfully.

We’re looking for a home where Sam will not be left alone for 8 hrs a day/5 days a week.  He needs a family who wants to take him on a few walks a day so he can explore, sniff, and run a bit.  He would love to snuggle with you at the end of the day.  Sam currently accompanies his foster parents on errands.  He is a good boy in the hardware store, pet store, at the ATM machine.  You name it, he is happy to be your buddy and tag along.  Be prepared for the compliments that come when walking with such a handsome Weimaraner.
If you are interested in making Sam a member of your family, please fill out an adoption application on our How To Adopt page.   If you already have an application on file, please send us an email to learn more about Samson.
