"IRIE" delightful little Lab/cattle type mix

Looking for a mature dog to brighten your day? My silly looking big ears will be sure to melt your heart! I am friendly with all of the humans I have met but have to admit that new dogs can make me a little nervous, I just need a little time to get to know them before we can be friends!

(a caption needed)

Those little critters are just too much fun to chase so no cats or small animals in my new home! My previous adopter has told my shelter friends that I had a hard time adjusting into his home. Exercise and mental games to keep my mind busy will help during that transition period.
I also have had some basic reward based training and am housetrained. Please ask about me today! I am around 8 years of age and 42lbs. Here's my MCAS weblink

"CLAIRE" young, exhuberant, gorgeous big Great Pyranees!

ADOPTED!

I know I am beautiful! My sweet disposition and gentle giant nature make me a great choice as a companion. But there are some things you need to consider before falling for me. I am still young and the shelter will require training classes as part of my adoption. My gorgeous fluffy coat sheds profusely all year long and will need brushing and regular upkeep, no shaving please.

I may be a silly and sweet youngster at the moment, but my breed was developed to alert Basically, you should expect barking. And lastly, we are driven to patrol our realm and will require secure fencing.

I am about 1 year of age and I weigh a healthy 67lbs. Please ask about me today!  Here's my MCAS weblink!

"SNICKERS" Fabulous! so sweet & sensitive (still too chubby) Aussie mix

ADOPTED!

Snickers is a real treat, and a great companion for just about anyone! We learned in a foster home that he is a mellow guy who is happy to just hang out with his people after a long, slow walk!

He needs to loose some weight to help with joint pain, so a careful diet and steady exercise are very important! If you are looking for a loving and sweet boy, then come on down to meet him!

"SULLY" mini mini mini German Shep mix?

ADOPTED!

Pleased to meet you, my shelter name is Sully.
It is your lucky day since I was found by a great family that cared for me for awhile. That way you will get to know a lot about my charming self, like I am crate trained and got along great with the dogs and cats in the household.

I like to get to know new people slowing especially if I meet them on a leash out and about. I take my protection job very seriously!
I am a young man still forming my personality so the shelter wants to help us both out by asking us to take reward based classes together. I know it is hard to believe I need any improvement but that is the way to do it.

I am a bit of a mystery when it comes to my breed so the shelter is calling me an American Miniature shelter dog, I am around old 1 year old and weigh 16.4 lbs. Here's my MCAS weblink

"ROCKET" Big hearted Little dog

"TRANSFERRED" to Oregon Humane Society!

I am a little bebopper of a dog looking for someone upbeat and friendly to take me home. I may be small and a little rickity in one knee, but if there is a treat involved I can find a way up! I am friendly and outgoing and I hope my new home is patient and has a sense of humor.

I need some explanation about what housetraining means, so please talk to your counselor for tips. My previous home pretty much gave up on me and wasn't always nice in explaining that dogs should go potty outside.
But I am ready for a new adventure and I think you should ask about me today! I am about 6 years of age and I weigh just under 8lbs. Here's my MCAS weblink

"WALTER" a lively and loving senior LAB/cattle boy type mix

"ADOPTED!

Tis the season at many local animal shelters when older dogs are often left behind. Maybe someone got a new puppy or just decided that they couldn't watch me get older and in need of more care. Whatever the reason, us older gents should not be passed over. I have a lot to offer my new home and will repay your generosity and kindness with loyalty and appreciation. I am about 10 years of age and I am looking for a quieter home with a fluffy dog bed to call my own. It would be best if kids in the home were over the age of 10 years. I'm currently chillin' in a foster on a comfy, cushy bed at an employee's home. Please ask staff about meeting me.

"BEAUTY" happy update!

We aren't looking to be like those seeking Hollywood sightings, but hey, local Portland Adoption Updates and Happy Tails are so much more important anyway!!!

You all remember Miss Beauty?? She waited and waited for her forever home at MCAS...months. She was transferred to BAPBR and found her forever home....WELL, here she is shopping for a new winter coat. at Sellwood Dog Supply & Cat Annex  Former Adopt-a-bull Helen, known as Mabel these days by her forever family.  Red looks lovely on you, Mabel!

====================
here's (MCAS "Beauty".....BAPRR "Helen") blog post

"After exactly 100 days today, Beauty found placement with Born Again Pitbull Rescue!!!
Sometimes the wait is long but always worth it to watch them walk out the door to their next adventure."

I'm a mellow dog most of the time, and I'm a good girl and I'm very lovable!

I got into some trouble when I was running loose,  and so I have a few extra needs for my new home... so no Cats (or small animals)  and a good secure fenced yard ( like most fences ought to be anyway, right?) and a loving and breed experienced homeowner :)

"HONEY" - playful, harmonious type - indoor home this time please?

ADOPTED!

I received a Gold Star today for my good behavior. My owners gave a full report of my habits and behaviors in the household. I do great with other dogs that like to play, love all ages of children anywhere from 2 years and up, and I even will play with a cat if they so desire.

My previous owners kept me strictly outdoors so I am searching for a family who will bring me in and share their cozy bed with me. No one likes being cold right?

So if you are looking for a wonderful dog like me, ask to see Honey in the adoption kennel. I am 2 1/2 yrs old and weigh 55lbs. Here's my MCAS weblink

"SMOKEY" love the mature guys!

"Returned to Owner"

Looking for a mature fellow to bring some brightness to your life? Or how about brightening my life with a new home? It seems to be the time of year for older dogs to be turned into shelters. I may not be as cute as that new puppy and I may have some lumps and bumps, but I also still have a lot of love and light to share. I am looking for a home with kids over the age of 10 years.

Other pets in the home should be gentle and respect this ol' man's space. I am about 10 years of age and I weigh 60lbs.

Ask about fostering or adopting me today!   Here's my MCAS weblink

"GRIFFON - DARLING Senior med size LAB MIX type!!

ADOPTED!!!

I am a mature guy looking for a place to start over. It is a mystery where my people may be and I am still sort of looking for them. Please be patient with me, it isn't easy to be displaced from your home at any age, let alone as an older dog. But I am still spry and in need of a soft bed to rest my head.

I am about 14 years of age and am looking for an adopter or FOSTER who will take me for gentle daily walks and remind me that I am still worth something to someone. Ask about me today!
Here is my MCAS weblink

"JAZZY" level 4 - playful Husky

ADOPTED!

I am a gorgeous girl with an active personality! Know anything about Huskies? My friends can tell you that we are smart, fun, and always on the go!

My previous family has already taught me a few tricks too! A single person, couple or family with no children under 6 is ideal for me! I am not a good match for a home with critters or dogs that are smaller than me.

I got into some trouble with some livestock a couple months ago so my adoption comes with some special requirements. One of these requirements is that we get some training together.

Come down to the shelter and lets meet! I am around 1 years old and weigh 44 pounds.  Here's my MCAS weblink

- all the MCAS cats and dogs on "Adoption" are spay/neutered, microchipped, licensed, and vaccinated before they go to their new homes

ps - please spay/neuter and license/microchip your pets, so that more of the lovely cats and dogs that come into the MCAS open-intake shelter as "Lost/Found" animals, can find their way back to their original homes again :)
