Chiweenie mix, neutered male, housetrained, 11 yrs 17 lb
ok with Dogs, Cats, Kids Adoption fee $0 ( Dewey has a generous sponsor)
Personality: Affectionate, Couch, Friendly, Loves
Dewey, our 17
pound 11 year old Chiweenie, claims he's trying to "bulk up". He's
always very interested in eating and has never turned down a snack.
However, we've never seen Dewey lifting weights. In fact, he prefers to
lay on his back so someone (anyone?) can give him a belly rub. Good
thing Dewey can't buy his own groceries; his idea of "bulking up" is a
lot more Shrek than Superman.
Found stray, the shelter reached
out to us to help with Dewey's teeth. It seems Dewey had not been
flossing between meals and he needed to have several teeth extracted.
He's recovered from that procedure, can chew just fine, and is now ready
for his own home.
Dewey is very friendly to the point of
clinginess. He loves to know where all of his people are and follows
them from room to room. When left alone, he cries a little howl so would
be best with someone who is home often. Thin walled apartments may not
work for him; although Dewey's quiet when he's not a bit sad.
Potty-trained and not destructive, Dewey is an easy guy to hang out
with. He's cuddly, gently playful, funny and sweet.
Dewey was
found wandering with another dog and seems to do well with other low
energy dog pals. High energy dogs might rub him the wrong way. He is
great on a leash and loves saying hello to people. We have not seen
Dewey with cats, but suspect an introduction to a dog-savvy cat would
work fine.
Dewey is microchipped and is current on his flea and heartworm preventatives.
Don't
mind having a low-rider friend watching your every move? Been wondering
how to address all the crumbs that have been falling to the floor?
Dewey may be the dog for you.
