"MARY POPPINS" senior MIn Pin/Chi mix "HUMANE SOCIETY of SW Washington"

UPDATE 1/11/25 ADOPTED or on hold

"MARY POPPINS"" is Available for Adoption at the HUMANE SOCIETY OF SW WASHINGTON

MARY POPPINS

Animal # 164012, spayed female, 13 lbs, 9 yrs

adoption fee $25

Here's what you need to know about me:

I'd like a relaxed home. I wouldn't say I'm "old"... I've just been around for a while. And that's made me appreciate the finer things in life like naps in the sun, looking out windows, and the special joy when you're able to scratch juuuuust the right spot. I like to take it easy at home - I'm not up for lots of activity.

It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.

Meet Maverick! This handsome 1.5-year-old German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix is ready to find his forever home! Maverick is still learning his manners and can be a bit jumpy and mouthy, but he's a quick learner and responds well to positive reinforcement training. He's a big fan of pets and loves to be around his people. He's working on his counter-surfing skills and could use a little help with impulse control, but he's always eager to please. Maverick has a fractured tooth that may need to be extracted in the future, but he's otherwise in good health. His adopter will need to consult with a veterinarian to determine the best course of action for his dental care. If you're looking for an active and affectionate companion who's ready to learn and grow, Maverick might be the perfect dog for you!

"LUCKETTE" curious, gentle Cattle Dog mix "NEW LIFE ASHER HOUSE" (formerly Family Dogs New Life Shelter)

UPDATE 1/11/25  ADOPTED

AVAILABLE for ADOPTION at NEW LIFE ASHER HOUSE!  (formerly Family Dogs New Life Shelter)

LUCKETTE- adoptables

Luckette, Australian Cattle Dog mix(spayed) female, 1yr 6 mths, 50 lbs

Kids 6+,  Dogs - yes,  Cats - unknown

What My Friends Say About Me:

"I think it might be your lucky day! I’m a smart, curious and gentle young lady with just the right amount of spunk.
I really love other dogs, so I won’t mind sharing my home with a canine friend. I’d do well in a home with kids over 6 who will enjoy some play time with me but understand how to respect my space when I need a break. I love attention, but I’ve got my own version of “personal space” (don’t worry, it’s just a quick timeout for a little recharge).
I haven’t met any cats yet, so we’re going to put a pin in that chapter for now—maybe a slow introduction later, if the cat is brave enough. I’m all about affection, but I’m not needy about it. I love a good scratch behind the ears and I’m great at giving kisses. I’m not afraid to say that I’m probably one of the sweetest dogs you’ll meet. If you’re looking for a girl who’s smart as a whip, listens well and is already house trained I’m the one for you!
I appreciate my daily dose of adventure to keep me happy but I’m not the type of Cattle Dog who needs my own ranch! I’m just an all star companion looking to make some family very lucky."

My adoption fee is $240 and includes spay, microchip & registration, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Jessi is a spirited and energetic Boxer girl who's about 2 years old and looking for an understanding and patient family to call her own. This beautiful girl has a lot of love to give, but she can be a bit sensitive about being handled and is still learning to share her favorite things. Jessi already knows some basic commands like "sit", "paw", and "down", and she's eager to please! She loves going for walks and transforms into a happy, tail-wagging explorer once she's out and about. She enjoys exploring the world with her nose and is very treat-motivated, which will make further training a breeze. Jessi can be a little unsure in new situations and around unfamiliar people, but she warms up quickly with gentle encouragement and a few tasty treats. She's looking for a home with experienced dog owners who can provide her with the structure and positive reinforcement she needs to build her confidence. A quiet environment with fewer dogs might be best for her, as she can get a bit overwhelmed by lots of commotion. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a dog who will reward your patience with endless affection and loyalty, come meet Jessi today!

"TENNY" CAN YOu FOSTER? Goofy (very SKINNY)playful DOBERMAN, loving ,OVERWHELMED in shelter, "MCAS"

 UPDATE 1/11/25  ADOPTED

(since there is very little screening done for an appropriate adopter, one can only hope that any adoption is good for him)

CAN you FOSTER TENNY?  Having a hard time in the noisy crowded shelter and is underweight.  He will need a good home/foster who is patient and is able to provide enough daily exercise and especially mental stimulation and basic training and maybe housetraining (unknown) It is rewarding, knowing that you are helping to improve the life of the dog!)

NOTE  I'm no longer a fan or longterm volunteer of MCAS due to poor current shelter management, but that isn't the dogs' fault and I still try to support the dogs as much as I can. TENNY could use a good foster home!! He is one that I would try to foster if I were still volunteering there. The young  active sensitive velcro types  really benefit from foster. THE LOUD and CHAOTIC environment of the shelter is detrimental to them.

He's got a goofy, playful personality and loves to be around people. Tenny is an energetic youngster who enjoys walks and playtime, and with some basic training and plenty of exercise, he'll be the perfect companion. He's eager to please and loves to learn, so a family willing to provide him with structure and guidance would be a great fit. Though a bit anxious in the kennel, Tenny is a big softie at heart and just needs a patient family to help him settle in.
