"MIKEY" GERMAN SHEPHERD "OHS-PORTLAND"

I'm in a different area. Please ask to meet me! ~Mikey

"MIKEY" AVAILABLE FOR Adoption at Oregon Humane Society  in PORTLAND

MIKEY #347490 Looks like: German Shepherd

neutered male 2 yrs 3 mths 72 lbs  available 7/30/26  $400

What my friends at OHS say about me:

  • I have been working with the Behavior and Training team here at OHS for consistency and am looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. You'll need to meet with me multiple times before taking me home.
  • To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.
  • I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things. I already know some basic cues such as, sit, down, crate, & stay, and I'm putting in the work to learn how to walk nicely on leash.
  • Stick a bandana on me and let's go do all the hikes!
  • I really enjoy the company of my human friends.
  • Are you ready for me and you to be stuck like glue?
  • High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.
  • I know some basic cues, such as sit, dowm, stay, loose leash walking, crate, and leave it.
  • I love to be the center of attention. All eyes and pets on me, please!
  • I have chronic skin issues which will require long term management. It can be caused by different factors such as fleas, food or environmental factors.

The type of home I'm looking for:

  • I need to be the only dog in the home.
  • I need a home without cats or other small animals.
  • My energy and size can be a lot for little kids, but I could do well with older, dog-savvy children.
