Hi! My name is Mabel, and I am a 4 year old female Pittie. I was
previously in a foster home, and my foster dad had SO much to say about
me! Mabel is a rockstar of a dog with high sport prospects (dock diving,
disc, flyball, agility)! She's high energy outside the house, loves to
train, play, and explore - very smart, and food motivated (hello
cheese!); she enjoys the flirt pole, spring pole, and fetch. She relaxes
inside the house nicely - respectful of furniture/things, chews on a
bone, entertains herself with a toy, and loves to snuggle and roll
around in her bed. She is very housebroken, rides well in the car
(crated), and shows no signs of separation anxiety (she will whine a bit
when you first crate her, but settles after a few mins). She seems
appropriately interested and friendly towards my resident dog, but we're
doing slow intros on walks and with tie-downs; she's shown some to no
interest in dogs behind fences while out on walks. She is friendly with
new people, interested in the world around her, and handles novelty
well. She has a high prey drive (squirrels be darned!), and is still
learning leash manners (she's a puller, but with cheese has great focus
on the handler). She came in as a stray, and given her proclivity to
jump into my giant walnut tree, and eye my fence line I'm pretty sure I
she's an escape artist if she gets bored. She exhibited stress while at
the shelter - they described her as jumpy/mouthy with some fence
fighting, but that isn't the case outside the shelter. She would make a
great addition to most homes - active, engaged, kids over 12, no cats or
small animals, other dogs with slow intros and smart management. Who's
ready for the ultimate adventure and cuddle buddy?!? Mabel's your gal!
