"HERMES" snuggly smart young Pitmix "MCAS"

"HERMES"  is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Date found: Monday, December 9, 2024
Location found: NW 1st St/ NW Eastman
How did we get this animal: Officer Pickup
Adoption cost: $160.00(except during adoption specials)
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 332888  male, 2 yrs 60 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/332888

Hermes is a top dog. He is intelligent, clownish, affectionate, and gentle, while also a bit stubborn. He is eager to learn and can sit, stay, almost lay down, and he is walking on leash (attached to a harness) like a champ. More than anything he wants to be with his people, and doesn't like to be left alone. But once they are gone, he settles down and is not destructive. He is learning how to be good and wait away from the door, sit while attaching and removing his leash, and waiting for his people to enter the house before he does. He has some stranger danger feelings and will give anyone new deep woofs. He is able to accept new people once they get past those first few minutes. He loves to be brushed and share quiet time while his people read books by the fire. Hermes is very snuggley and will lean in for affection. Hermes still has young dog energy and loves walks, chasing and bringing back the ball, and he trotted next to his person for a short distance without any hesitation. Hermes would thrive in a family that does not have children under 8 years old, but who can be with him most of the day, and take him out for exercise. A large yard would be ideal. With more training, Hermes will be a good adventure buddy and would love being on the trail with you.

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/333297

Jensen is a 3-year-old German Shepherd [mix] who is a bit of a mystery. He's quite nervous at the shelter but loves to explore his surroundings with his nose. While hesitant with people, he'll curiously approach to within a couple of feet before retreating, showing a conflict between his desire to connect and his fear. Jensen needs a patient and understanding family who can give him the space and time he needs to build trust. He's motivated by treats, which will be a valuable tool for building a bond and working on confidence-building exercises. A quiet home with a predictable routine will help him feel safe, and a family who can read his subtle cues and respect his boundaries will be key to helping him blossom. If you're experienced with fearful dogs and ready to provide a loving and supportive home for Jensen, please come meet him today to see if it would be a good fit. With the right family, this diamond in the rough will shine!

JENNY   UPDATE 12/30/24 ADOPTED
Animal ID: 333298 spayed female 2 yrs 6 mths (guessed)44 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/333298

Jenny is a 2.5-year-old Shepherd searching for a special home with patient and understanding adopters. This sweet girl can be nervous and shy at first, especially in new situations. She responds well to gentle approaches, crouching down to her level, and offering tasty treats. Jenny loves to go for walks and explore once she's out of her kennel, but she can be a bit hesitant about the leash initially. She's still learning to trust people and may take some time to warm up, but with a calm and loving approach, she has the potential to be a wonderful companion. Jenny has a fear waiver, so her new family should be prepared to work with her on building her confidence and helping her feel safe. A quiet home with a fenced-in yard where she can relax and play would be ideal. If you think you can offer Jenny the time, space, and love she needs to blossom, come meet her at the shelter today!

Hi, I'm Galileo! I'm a 2.5-year-old playful pup looking for my new best friend. I'm an energetic guy who loves to be active and would thrive with an adventurous human. I enjoy exploring and playing, and I'm always up for a good time. I'll admit, I can be a bit of a goofball sometimes - I get excited easily and might jump up to say hello (I'm working on that!). I also have a playful mouth, but I'm learning to keep those teeth to myself. Because I'm so full of energy, I need a home with a fenced yard where I can run and burn off some steam. While I haven't always had the best luck making doggy friends in the past, I might do well with another dog in my new home. We'd just need to have some slow and careful introductions to make sure we get along. I'm also working on my leash manners - sometimes I think it's a game of tug-of-war! With some patience and positive reinforcement, I know I can improve. My previous family mentioned that I may have some separation anxiety, but with a loving and understanding human, I'm sure I can overcome it! I really love getting pets, especially around my ears and haunches, so don't be shy about showing me some affection! If you're looking for an active and affectionate companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with laughter, I might be the perfect pup for you! I promise to bring lots of love and joy into your life

Long walks where I can sniff all the interesting smells, and playtime where I can chase toys and show off my zoomies! I may be 6, but I've still got plenty of pep in my step. I'm looking for a loving forever home with older children (8+). I'm a big, strong girl, and I can get a little excited when I play, so a home with older kids who understand dog body language would be the perfect fit.  Update- now in a foster home

Meet Gigit, a big, beautiful girl with a zest for life. She came in with her housemate Sage, and while these ladies can go home together, they are adoptable individually, as they do not seem bonded to each other. Gigit is initially reserved on meeting new people. Once she warms up to you, she'll show you her playful and affectionate side. She can be a cuddlebug. Gigit would do best as the only pet in the home unless Sage is accompanying her. Some dogs just need a little more TLC and attention than others! Please consider meeting Gigit and opening your home to this sweet girl
