#353867 listed as  american shelter dog, SPAYED female 3 yrs 1mth 62 lbs

*In FOSTER*  *no small children
*Gets Along with Dogs

Sandy is a big girl with an even bigger heart! She doesn't always realize just how large she is-she loves climbing right into your lap for cuddles or finding the smallest dog bed to curl up in. What Sandy wants most is to be close to her people, and she'll happily spend hours soaking up affection. Since living in a foster home, Sandy has learned so much. She knows sit and down, is working hard on stay, and her leash manners have greatly improved. Her off-leash recall is also coming along beautifully.

Sandy loves to play-whether it's chasing balls, romping with toys, or enjoying a good play session with other dogs. In fact, she seems to feel most comfortable when other dogs are around, and she tends to accept new humans more easily when they come with a canine friend. She could be the only dog in the home as long as she gets the chance to play with other dogs regularly, but she would also love some playful dog siblings!

Sandy does need some patience with strangers. She has a big, intimidating bark when unfamiliar people approach, especially at home, and she takes time to build trust. Because of this, she's looking for a calm and understanding adopter who can be her safe space-someone who will reassure her that the world isn't so scary, while continuing to build on all the great progress she's made. In return, Sandy promises endless love, snuggles, and a loyal companion who will reward your patience a hundred times over. If you can offer her a loving home and help her continue to blossom, Sandy just might be the perfect match for you.

"TIMBER" *BEST Shep/HUSKY mix* *affectionate, listens well "OFOSA _ Oregon Friends ofShelter Animals" Hillsboro OR

Timber is a very nice, friendly young dog. He is an easy size and a great blend of breeds. He listens well for his young age and even came running to me when I called from a distance when there was a distraction of another dog. He's smart and sensitive so don't overwhelm him with too many overly firm commands. Give him time to bond and adjust to a new home.

OFOSA  (OREGON FRIENDS OF SHELTER ANIMALS)     www.OFOSA.org

For many years, OFOSA rescue has helped the local community pets get spayed/neutered and get great homes

"TIMBER" AVAILABLE for ADOPTION with OFOSA (Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals) in Hillsboro

PLEASE NOTE!  Before you can adopt one of our pups, ALL members of your household, including other dogs, must participate in a meet & greet with the new pup. Read more about our adoption process & pricing HERE.

TIMBER neutered male 1 yr 5mths Alaskan Husky/Shepherd mix  (wt n/a - maybe 55 lbs? )adoption fee $340

Good things come to those who wait!  Timber has been working very hard the past few months to become the most perfect companion he can be and he's now ready to show that hard work off. Are you the home for him? He has shown himself to be a very loyal, intelligent and affectionate companion and just in the last few days has decided he wants to be a LAP DOG! Timber is totally house trained, originally ringing chimes at the door when he wanted to go outside. Now he has mastered the doggy door and goes outside whenever he wants. Timber shows a clear understanding of basic behaviors such as "sit", "high five", "down" and "stay". He is very food motivated and with consistency in his training, will be a well-behaved, enjoyable and life-long companion.

Timber is a very active pup and requires a lot of exercise. His ideal family would have members who will walk with him several times a day and ideally a leash less but safe field where he could interact and socialize with other dogs,,,this is his favorite thing,,,and ours too,,,as he is able to burn up a lot of energy!
Timber is improving his leash walking but again, this is an area that requires consistency. He also no longer has separation anxiety issues,,,he wants nothing more than to be with his human, but he is comfortable being left alone when need be.

Timber is currently interviewing for his new "pack" that will provide him with lots of exercise, patience and love. His love is unconditional and he will reciprocate your love a hundred fold. Timber is just over a year so still a puppy, he is neutered, up to date on shots, Microchipped and ready for his forever family. To meet him please go to our website - OFOSA.ORG and fill out the dog application and his foster will arrange a meeting. His adoption fee is $340.00

"LACEY" spunky, cute - teenage American Shelter Dog "MCAS"

MCAS needs to spay/neuter all dogs before adoption, especially the females (and ensure that the dogs are given adequate care and recovery time!) Adopting intact dogs to new homes is grossly irresponsible in our current homeless dog crisis. EVEN POOR counties with a much smaller budget for animal control are ensuring that  the dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Management is failing the animals and the community....Possible Solution? - lease/create an offsite space and hire part-time well- qualified Veterinarians and qualified volunteers to help out. Provide safe spay/neuter and provide a safe recovery space so all adoptable animals are spay/neutered before they go to new homesMore veterinarians could be recruited if given a competitive wage and more autonomy

8/19/25 "I'm available for a pre-select adoption but I can't go home yet. Please come to the shelter to apply! Learn more about Pre-select animals." NOTE- it is important to check at the local animal shelters if you lose your pet as the stray hold time is only 3-6 days depending on if they have any id

"CALLIE" cute and FRECKLED Pointer MIX "OFOSA- Hillsboro, OR"

"CALLIE"  AVAILABLE for adoption with OFOSA (Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals)

Meet Callie – a 3-year-old, 50 lb Pointer mix with brains, beauty, and boundless energy. She’s playful, silly, and smart as a whip — a total goofball who LOVES fetch (with a side of “catch me if you can!”), gives the sloppiest kisses, and might sneak in a love nip when she’s extra excited.
Callie was neglected and abandoned as a pup. She worked hard at her board & train “summer camp,” and she’s READY to shine in a loving home.
 Potty trained
 Crate trained
 Dog-friendly

 ======================

Callie needs her forever home. She is a 3 year old, 50 pound hunting type dog, we believe a German Shorthair pointer MIX. She doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. She loves people but she is very high energy. She is great with other big dogs but has a bit of a prey drive towards cats and possibly small dogs (cat size). She was sent to a 2-week board and train which has helped a lot but she needs consistent reminding and reassuring. She needs both physical and mental work daily. She did train with an E-Collar on a very low setting but very seldom uses it anymore. She know her basic commands and follows her person. Her training will be followed up after adoption by her trainer and give you any support they can. She is potty trained, crate trained, spayed, chipped and up to date on vaccines and flea treatment. Do you have the time to give Callie the best life ever? She will reward you with kisses. She is very loyal. She knows: Kennel, Sit, Leave it, Heal, Place. free and down. Loves to play fetch tho doesn't always give back the item so have more then one ready. She needs a securely fenced yard so NO Apartments.

To meet her fill out the application on OFOSA.ORG and her foster mom will be in touch with you. Her adoption fee is $340.

Dogs on their website   https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/dogs/ Yakima, WA is a long drive from Portland, but the Yakima Humane Society seems like a decent animal shelter that could use a boost for attention.   They spay/neuter all their adoption pets and try to do adequate adoption screening

ALANI intake 6/9/2025  Adoption fee $175

Animal ID 58675438     spayed female, 5 years 57 lbs

 "Listed as"German Shepherd mix

Alani keeps getting passed over for other dogs. Maybe it’s because she only has one eye, maybe it’s because German Shepherds are a dime in a dozen in the rescue world but we would love some help sharing her story to help her find her forever home.

Meet Alani, a five year old German Shepherd mix weighing 57 pounds.
Alani has spent her life being a mama—she was found with five other dogs, some likely her own pups—and it’s clear she’s given everything she had to her little ones. Now, it’s finally her turn to be cared for. She may have been bred multiple times in the past, but those days are behind her. Alani is ready to retire from motherhood and step into a life filled with comfort, kindness, and love. One of her eyes has an old injury or deformity, but it doesn’t seem to slow her down or dim her gentle spirit.
Alani is a joyful burst of energy wrapped in fur! This outgoing, friendly girl jumps into every situation with all four paws and a huge dose of enthusiasm. She’s treat-motivated and eager to please—she’s currently working on the command “off” and learning how to take treats a little more gently (she just gets so excited!). Alani’s happy-go-lucky spirit is contagious, and she’s sure to bring laughter and love into any home. Alani has met another dog while with us and did very well, we think she would be fine in a home with another dog or as a solo dog. If you're looking for a lively, loving companion who’s ready for adventure and affection, Alani is your girl!
Apply to adopt Alani on our website or contact our adoption center to learn more about her. You can even come and meet her in person during business hours!
