"NERF" good hearted, mature BLIND Chocolate LAB

"Transferred to a Placement Partner"
June 4, 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink
animal id # 577930

Hello, my name is Nerf! I am a goofy lab who LOVES to play with toys! If you couldn't tell by my photo, I should let you know that I am blind. My perfect family will have a house that doesn't have any stairs so I can navigate my surroundings safely. I do a pretty good job of not bumping into things especially if I am familiar with my living space. Although I might not be able to see, it certainly hasn't stopped me from figuring out that fetch is the best game in the world! I might accidently try and grab onto your hand if I think it’s a toy so for that reason my shelter friends are asking that any children in my home be 10 years or older. Please consider me! My charming personality and heart of gold will be worth it!

"RUBY - a Gerbil/Chi mix??? - Westside of town - Bonnie Hays (Wash Co shelter)

ADOPTED!
June 2, 2016

Available for adoption at Bonnie L Hays
(aka  Washington County Animal Shelter) )

here's my shelter Petfinder.com link

I'm a very cute and happy little Chihuahua!  I'm a cool little dog with lots of
restless energy and so I wouldn't be happy in a sedate home - unless I get lots of mental stimulation and exercise too! I'm hoping to bond with someone - because I think that will help me feel a bit more secure. I'm a fast moving and adorable little Chihuahua, who has a tendency to "get under foot" at times - like many small pets :)

Some of us dogs would rather not live with cats or other dogs or little kids! It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with us, it's just the way it is :)

I'm 4 yrs old, 7 lbs, and looking for an active Chi loving home where any children are 12 and up - and no other dogs, or cats please.

huh...who was here before me?

Adoptions are on a first-come first-served basis among approved applicants. We cannot hold pets, so when you are ready to select a pet, please come prepared.

"MIA" energetic blue brindle Pitbull

ADOPTED!
June2, 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
In a MCAS Foster Home

here's my Mcas weblink
animal id # 576817

Who's looking for a high energy running partner? My name is Mia and I would be a great companion to take on your daily runs. I enjoy getting lots of exercise and playtime. I am currently in foster care. If you are interested in me, contact my foster mom at angelinamaddox3@yahoo.com or (503) 995-6538 (texting is okay) to find out more about me :) If you have a tennis ball and a yummy treat, we will make fast friends. I can be quite goofy when I get excited and manners can go astray. The shelter is HIGHLY recommending that we attend reward based classes together to help with my impulse control. Kids in the home will need to be over the age of 12 years since my exuberance and mouthiness might be too much for smaller kids. I will make a great companion with some training and have lots of potential. I am about 3 years old and weigh 58 pounds. Ask about me today!

If you are interested in me, contact Alix, the Foster Coordinator, at alix.womack@multco.us or 503-988-6247 to find out more about me :) I know I'm a bit older and have my aches and pains, but I'm a handsome guy who is more than ready to find a new family! I've got a little arthritis, so no kids under 10, please, but still like my walks. I am on a special diet to keep my allergies down. I know I sound like more work than some dogs, but I'm so worth it! I am around 11 years old and weigh a hefty 87 pounds. Ask about me today!

animal id # 577911

Hello, my name is Astro! I am a young boy who can't wait to be your new companion! My new family should not have any small animals, or children under 16. I'm a beautiful boy who can be quite worried in certain situations so my shelter friends are recommending positive training methods to help boost my confidence as well as refine my manners. "DALE" big tall Saint Bernard

ADOPTED!
May 31, 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink
animal id # 577901

My name is Dale. Short for Clydesdale I imagine, since I am one extra big boy! I know sit, down, and on occasion will even roll over to my side if asked. I have a goofy playful side to me, but sometimes I really do not know how big I am and I can be very physical and rough when playing. I may have lived outside most of my life, so a big yard and some patience with transitioning me into a good housemate will help a long way. Come check me out-trust me, you won't miss me! The shelter is strongly recommending that I go to a home with kids over 12. Some bigger teenagers will be able to handle my size and strength, and it may be really fun for me! I am years 4 old and weigh 140 pounds.

"ANNA Bananna" a sensitve (happy) special girl - Yellow Lab mix

ADOPTED!!!
May 27, 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  ( May 22 adoption pending)
animal id # 576062

My name is Anna which rhymes with banana and just like the fruit, I’m a sweet girl. I’ve had a rough start in life so I need a very special home because I’m not your typical happy-go-lucky Lab. People in my new home should be adults only. I’m a sensitive girl with a lot of love to give but I’ve not been well treated so I get scared easily and I have bitten in my previous home. Adoption counselor Lora thinks that with a person who will respect my need for space and only use reward based training, I will be a great dog and be able to put my past in the past!  If you think you are that special person, please ask to see me. I'm 1-1/2 years old and weigh about 60lbs.

I do lots of "sit pretty" to get treats

and I use my my big brown eyes to appeal to your soft spot to give me a treat :)

animal # 575293

Greta Garbo has nothing on me! My name is Greta too and the shelter thinks I am a delightful little star. I'm about 5 years old and weigh 10lbs. I'm shy when I am in the spotlight but once I get to know you, I am an active, curious little firecracker who would like to be the center of attention. My shelter friends recommend that any time spent outside, should be supervised as in my previous home I was digging holes to explore the rest of the world! Please ask about me!

Hey looking for a cute little lap dog. Well look no further. My name is Chiquita. I'm not sure about shelter life but when I'm in a quiet space then I show off my cute side. I'm quite an endearing little snuggle bunny looking for a quiet home that will give me some space and time to adjust. Then I turn into an enchanting prancing Chihuahua. I'm about 4 years old and weigh slightly under 9 lbs.

"CHERRY" cute, and well adjusted little Chihuahua mix

May 26, 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  (please note - May 25 - Cherry's weblink unfortunately isn't currently working (but she is currently available) If you are interested in her, you can call the shelter to checkher availability)
animal id # 577594

My name is Cherry! I am sweet and vibrant, even though it may not look that way at first. I can be quite shy, but if you take your time and gain my trust, I can be a loving little lady who is open to being your new best friend. My friends here at the shelter are recommending that I only go to a home with kids over 10 years old. I have done well with respectful, same sized dogs here at the shelter, so that is a big plus! I hope to see you down here at the shelter so you can take me home. I am 4 years old and weigh 9 pounds.

I did GREAT with everyone - humans and dogs too!

"DUDLEY" a well adjusted calm favorite guy - American Shelter Dog mix

ADOPTED!
May 21, 2016

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  (5/19 potential adopter)
animal # 577172

My name is Dudley! Are you looking for a fun and goofy guy to bring into your home? I think I may have the match for you right here with me! I really like to move around and play, or go on long walks. But I also know when to take it easy and lounge around with my best friends. It seems that I have mostly been a outdoor-living kind of dog, so it may take some time and patience for me to transition into a house dog. But don't worry-I know I have it in me and I can't wait to join my new family. Come on down and check me out! I am 8 years old and weigh pounds.

"TROOPER" lovable BIG Rottie mix

ADOPTED!
May 20, 2016

Available for adoption at Oregon Humane Society!

here's my OHS weblink
code # 187548

This handsome hunk is Trooper and he is a big boy with lots of love to give. He enjoys spending time with his people, he loves to lounge, and likes to go for the occasional car ride. Trooper has lived with other animals before and will need proper introductions if his future home has other furry residents. Due to his size, Trooper will do best with older dog savvy children who can handle him and respect him for how large he is and give him his space when needed. Trooper is currently on joint supplements and his future adopters will need to manage some ongoing conditions in his hips and knee. This big man is waiting for his forever home and cannot wait to give all the love he has to that special someone! 6 yrs old, 117 lbs. A medical consultation will be provided prior to Trooper’s adoption.

"FAWN" (happy update) sweet Cattle Dog mix

Here's an Update on Fawn's adoption sent to us (via "comments")
 May 2016 (one year later...)
"Fawn is one lucky girl! Her furever mom is so patient and loving. They are very happy together."

ADOPTED!
May/June 2015
Fawn was adopted to a great home to a woman who has experience with fearful dogs, and who understands that it might take a bit of time before seeing Fawn's very cuddly and affectionate nature.  Thank you Katia (and Jeanette) for fostering Fawn!

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
 in a MCAS Foster home
here's my Mcas weblink
id # 566398

Fawn is currently in foster care. If you are interested in Fawn, please contact Alix, the Foster Coordinator, at alix.womack@multco.us or 503-988-6247 to set up a time to meet her :) Fawn is a 3 year old, 30lb Australian Cattle Dog mix who will need a very special adoptive home. She is extremely afraid of men and will need a female only home. She is nervous around anyone she doesn't know, and would be best in a quiet home without a lot of visitors. She lives harmoniously with other dogs as long as they don't push her around. She is very cuddly with her foster mom, and is playful, smart and obedient. She is a high-energy speed racer and would love a foster home that will exercise her a lot. She does well when left alone at home. She loves going for car rides. She would do best in a home without cats or kids under 12. She is working on her crate training in her foster home and is making slow progress. She is housetrained. Ask about Fawn today!

thanks Katia for the great photos of your foster dog Fawn!

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink ( 5/18 pending adoption)
animal id # 549592

Hi there, my name is Reggie. I am a charming laid back 12 year old gentleman who has been down on his luck. I am looking for a special retirement home with some kind soul who really wants to make a difference. I came to the shelter with skin and ear infections probably due to an allergy. The shelter is helping me out with hypoallergenic food and treatment to get me back into shape. I look way better than before, but now I need someone to step up and take me home. After all I am at the stage of my life where a guy should be able to enjoy his retirement, right? Staff says I really deserve a loving home.

here's me 3 yrs ago :)  Same hopefull look

"BANJO" interesting German Shepherd mix

ADOPTED!
May 19, 2016

Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink
animal id # 576839

My name is Banjo and I'm in search of a new family! I am quite the character and you will be mesmerized by my soulful eyes. Don't let them trick you though. I am a very smart, energetic boy that enjoys being active and having a good time. I love to play, but am a little uncertain for handling. It would be awesome if we could attend reward based classes together to help build my confidence with that. I already have some great skills and I can't wait to learn more. The shelter is recommending that kids in the home be over the age of 8 years due to my lack of confidence and general mouthy behavior. Come on down and meet me today! I am about 3 years old and weigh 71 pounds.
