Scooter, our 4 year old 13 pound chihuahua mix, is primarily motivated by cuddles. He'll do just about anything to score some hugs. As no one can resist a half-chihuahua-half-meerkat circus trick, Scooter spends a lot of time spinning around on his hind legs. If that doesn't work (it always does), there's always belly exposing and big sad brown eyes. We're looking for a full-time Scooter snuggler so he doesn't have to work this hard.

 

Found stray with pneumonia, a terrible flea infestation, and several broken teeth, we took Scooter in to help him heal. He's fully recovered now and has been a fun, happy guest. With no fleas, fewer teeth and no testicles, he's finally ready for adoption.

In his foster home, Scooter is potty trained and not destructive. Although he is offended by the idea of sleeping in a crate, he can eventually be convinced (but he'll complain a little first). Scooter loves all people and all dogs. We think Scooter would like to have a dog friend in his new home or to have plenty of play dates. Scooter may do well with kids too, but we have not seen Scooter with cats.

Scooter would prefer to live with someone who is home often. Although he eventually settles when left by himself, solitude isn't his favorite, and he will vocalize. A thin walled apartment would not be ideal. Scooter is good on a leash and loves a long walk. A moderately active home would be his choice.

Scooter is heartworm negative and is current on his flea and heartworm preventatives. His adoption fee is $350.
