Dallas, our 37 pound 7 month old puppy, is being coy about his breed mixture. He has the sweet goofiness of a lab and the leggy/willowy appearance of a whippet. He'll likely be less than 50 pounds fully grown, which in our opinion, is a perfect size. So, we guessed. And who cares? What ever Dallas's breed mix is, the result is adorable.
Dallas was stray when he was hit by a car. Having sustained a fracture to his pelvis and femur, Dallas needed a safe place to heal. We took one look at that face and happily took Dallas in so he could recover. It's been several weeks and he finally got the all clear - the fractures are healed and Dallas can go back to the business of being a dog.
Universally popular, Dallas is a fan of everyone and everyone likes him back. He is good with all sizes of dogs, is mostly respectful of his cat roommate (as always, a dog savvy cat and slow introductions are recommended), and likes kids. Dallas is crate and house trained. He needs some work on leash walking (he pulls a bit and wants to say 'hi' to all the dogs) because Dallas is a puppy. His adopter should recognize that Dallas likely needs a little work on lots of things. We've said this before, but please don't adopt a puppy unless you want to train it.
A fan of toys (and, ahem, shoes), Dallas is easily entertained. Although energetic and always ready to play, Dallas has also mastered snuggling. His happy place is in his person's lap. Dallas's ideal home should be somewhat active; Dallas is requesting having access to other dogs for play dates.
Dallas is microchipped, vaccinated, neutered and current on his flea and heartworm preventions.
Did you know that people call a lab/whippet mix a Whipador? We have to insist that whoever adopts Dallas does NOT call him that. Is that person you?
