Hey there, I'm George, and I'm on the lookout for my forever human! I'm a
bright and devoted German Shepherd who adores meeting new faces. I'm a
breeze in the car, so let's embark on some adventures together! After
our outings, how about cozying up on the couch for some quality snuggle
time? You'll get a kick out of the quirky ways I nod off to sleep. I
relish our walks and am quite the sniffing aficionado. While I sometimes
get excited by other dogs and small critters, I'm eager to learn and
grow alongside you as we tackle training together. When it comes to
playtime, nothing beats a good old-fashioned game of fetch with my
favorite ball, preferably a lacrosse one like my foster parents'!
Whether it's a toss from you or a self-thrown game, count me in! A
spacious, securely fenced yard would be a dream come true for me to romp
around in. Initially, I may want you by my side outdoors, but once I've
bonded with you and feel secure, I'll happily enjoy some solo playtime.
Having you work from home would be ideal for us to spend our days
together.
I would also love another dog to spend time with. I can be a little
selective and have a strong preference for female dogs. I lived with 2
dogs while I was in foster - a bigger male shepherd mix - I loved
playing chase and wrestlemania in the yard but was a little possessive
of my space in the house. The small female dog I lived with was my
absolute favorite. I followed her around, watched her while she slept
and tried so hard to get her to play with me. I also fell hard for an
older, female yellow lab - I was really gentle with her and let her lead
the way. On the other hand, I met a large unneutered male dog that I
did not like at all - no matter how cute or playful he tried to be.
What can I say, I have a type!
I've already mastered commands like sit, down, and paw, and I'm
diligently working on perfecting wait and leave it. I do pretty well in
my crate and only cry for a few minutes, then I settle down and snooze
away. Positive training methods are the way to go for me! Oh, and let's
not forget about food-my absolute favorite! I do have a manageable
lifelong condition where my pancreas needs a little extra help with
digestion. It's nothing a sprinkle of enzyme powder on my food mixed
with water can't fix. Just give it 15 minutes to activate, and I'm good
to go!!
