Hi there, my name is Humphrey. I'm a 5 year old neutered male Chinese Shar Pei. Did you know Shar-Peis were originally bred as palace guards in China? Who knew I was descended from royalty. I can be a dog that is loyal and loving to my family while being very protective and suspicious of strangers. In general, Shar-Pei do not like to be alone, preferring to be close to their humans, often lying nearby in the same room. Although Shar-Pei are sometimes stubborn, they are receptive to fair, compassionate training. With repetition and a clear reward system, training is not very difficult, however they do not respond well to punishment based training. The shelter recommends respectful kids at least 10 & up based upon his history and no cats in his new home.

Callie the German Shepherd is doing well! She's the new mascot of their bookstore down in Sheridan. She has a big cushy bed and an automatic water fountain that she loves and has really come out of her shell. She loves her new pug/beagle sister. They lay around together and play. They're already working fattening her up and goes for 2 long walks a day. He says her back seems better and she is  more strong in her back end and has way more tail wags!! Next week she's getting her teeth cleaned. She is doing GREAT and wanted you to know!

I’m also very content cuddling and watching Netflix and I’m the perfect size for cuddling on the couch with you. I am crate trained but also do great when left alone in the house by myself. I get along very well with my foster dog brothers. I have some health concerns that aren't uncommon in older gals like me: I have a limp and some lumps and bumps, the most concerning of which have been removed. I have control of some of my commands, but could really use some more reward-based training to work on manners and impulse control. I’m actually a very unique English Setter, a Llewellin Setter. I was bred to hunt Pheasants and was quite good at it, if I do say so myself. And don’t for one second be fooled by my age! I’m quite lively and energetic outside, but need a large fenced yard because I don’t get along with other dogs. I’m looking for a canine-free environment in which to play and run. Mallory is in a MCAS Foster home

Mallory came into the MCAS kennel with extremely painful ears which MCAS preformed surgery on to repair.  Mallory went into a MCAS foster home to recover.  Well... sometimes an experienced Foster Home becomes a "foster failure" and adopts their foster dog :)
Mallory had a first adopter, but they cancelled and the 2nd party didn't follow through, and guess what?  Mallory got the best home of all - with her original Foster home who loves her  ( btw - a first time Foster Home isn't allowed to adopt their foster dog - unless otherwise agreed upon- that's not the point of the program)
Mallory is a lucky dog - saved by MCAS from neglect, medically treated, placed into a foster home, and now adopted into her  loving new home.
