"AMY" HAPPY ADOPTION UPDATE!! German Shepherd - Get along with DOGS and CATS

HAPPY ADOPTION UPDATE

"AMY" aka "Havok" Nov 11, 2024

Happy Adoption Story: Havok (Amy)
"I recently lost my fiancé and I came in to adopt a dog so that I wouldn't feel so alone. I adopted Amy a GSD who had come from a hoarding situation. I was told she was very reserved and that I might want a more outgoing and friendly dog. I decided that I want to at least try with Amy. Her name is now Havok, and from the 1st night, she has been virtually glued to my side unless she's out in our big fenced yard, playing in her pool or doing zoomies. She is such a huge blessing to me. I'm so grateful for this program that allowed me to make her part of my life." - Erica

Looking for a love bug? Are you patient and do you have a backyard? Hi My name is Amy, my foster mom calls me Amie-Welsh and has been teaching me French! My foster mom says that since being in foster I have learned that car rides are good and have almost gotten over my anxiety when left in the car for short amounts of time. I prefer a doggie hammock in the back seat to keep me from sliding. I have used the SniffSpot app to rent fenced in backyard and I loved it so much! I love to play with other dogs in a secure environment, but only known my siblings, so new dogs can scare me at times. I have played respectful dogs, of all sizes and done well. I have also lived peacefully with cats! I will need some leash training, as I get a little excited when I see other dogs, and I often react and scare them. I am a big girl, so some training and patience will be needed for me to learn proper leash manners! I would do best in a home with my own secured backyard, bed inside a calm house with lower traffic and no little kids... I'd blossom! Talk to my adoption team about a skin condition that I have, that is under control with medication and nutrition, as well as why I have some nervous tendencies. My gentle and fragile nature is as lovable as the amount of love I give to others... Then you've got a loyal companion to the end! If you are looking for your forever partner in love and life, fill out an application today!!
