DUCKIE" SEE ME FRIDAY!! BLACK LAB "CLACKAMAS County DOG SERVICES "*likes dogs* (open Tues- Friday 1-4pm)

The dogs at Clackamas Co shelter have a harder time getting adopted since recent budget cuts closed the shelter on Saturdays.

The longer stays are tough on dogs!  Please consider taking some time on a Tues thru Friday 1:00-4:00 pm to visit with one of the adoptable dogs!

Fill out our adoption application. There is a $10 application fee due at the time of submission. Please apply on our website and we will contact you. If you’re applying from out of state to adopt a dog, please note that it is a requirement that you come meet the dog at our facility. Adoptions are available by appointment only. We will call you as soon as your approved adoption application is next in our queue. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we find homes for pets as quickly and efficiently as possible. For more information on the adoption process, call 503-655-8628 or email dogshelter@clackamas.us.

"DUCKIE" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106439 Breed: Labrador Retriever

neutered male 8 yrs 90 lbs adoption fee $154 ?

Description: Hello, my name is Duckie! I'm a big, happy Labrador who is about 8 years old and weighs around 90 pounds. I have a cheerful personality and a whole lot of love to give. I enjoy spending time with my people, playing with my toys, and being included in daily life. I'm your classic Lab - I love food and treats, I enjoy my toys, and I'm very eager to please! I also still have a good amount of energy for my age and would enjoy a home that can keep me active and engaged. I am still working on my leash manners and will need continued help with polite walking using patience and positive reinforcement. I'm looking for someone who understands Labrador Retrievers and will continue giving me the care, attention, and affection I deserve as I enter my golden years. I've got so much love left to share.. just need the right home to share it with!

1. Duckie would do best with an adopter familiar with his breed and comfortable supporting a senior dog with ongoing love, structure, and routine care.

2. Duckie is food-motivated, toy-loving, and eager to please. He also enjoys being active and included in daily life. He would thrive in a home that can provide both mental and physical enrichment.

4. Duckie is still working on his leash manners and will need continued guidance, structure, and positive reinforcement during walks. You absolutely can teach an old dog new tricks!

5. Duckie's history with other animals and cats is unknown. Please speak with your adoption counselor if you have other pets in the home. If you have another dog, you will need to bring them in for a proper meet and greet.

6. Duckie is a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate Labrador to enjoy the slower, sweeter side of life with.
